Well, as this very hectic year comes to a close, I would like to reflect on some of the highlights, pitfalls etc.Personally it was a hard one, but aren't they all, after a certain age. I managed to help change a few very bad things to somewhat better in Congress and the Senate, I am still working very hard to change a lot more.I get great pleasure in the small ways that a large mouth can have so much influence esp. for the underdog.You know the saying "A drop of water dripping down on concrete, will eventually make a hole".Thats me drip, drip, drip LOL.I love my grand children, and they all progressed so very well this year, I love you all,Thanks for helping Nonie see the world the way it really is, and not sugar coated. Children are honest and still innocent enough to simlify the most confusing things. I love you all I hope 2008 is all you wish it to be, and PLEASE someone else in my family learn to cook, I am taking a year off in the kitchen! No I am not kidding Carrie ! Love you God Bless you. Z

Five Finger Prayer

 
  

This is so neat. I had never heard this before and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.


1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the leaders in government, business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our na tion and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.


 
  

Here is a picture that I wanted to post on the 11th but it wouldnt let me. It was taken by my friend coming back from Canada,on a ferry, in New York right before 911. Another beautiful day I am going to try to make the best of it.  I still cant load  any pictures here to my blog dont know what the problem is, I use to be able to. I have wrote Fox13 four letters but no answer. All of you up north waiting to see the fish, will have to go to one of my otherwebsites sorry!  I guess my brothers memorial gravesite will be up forever, thats ok, I really miss him. I'm having a real good time like I am." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ After the christening of his baby brother in church, Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong. Finally, the boy replied, "That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ One particular four-year-old prayed, "And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?" One bright little girl replied, "Because people are sleeping." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.' Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore where a seagull lay dead in the sand. "Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked. "He died and went to Heaven," the Dad replied. At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?" "I wouldn't know what to say," the girl replied.
