It's almost that time and I still remain undecided!  I am not very political and do not understand all the in's and out's of the policies and procedures, but I know it is very important to cast a vote.......My issue with voting this October is that my candidate for the "Preident of the United States of America" is no longer in the running, therefore, my vote is no longer "my vote".......I have to vote for who is still in the race, and thus my dilemma!

Although very excited about Obama, Hillary was my choice and would love to cast my vote for Hillary, however, that choice has been taken away from me and I am now forced, or not forced to vote for someone else.  How is this fair?  I have to choose between Obama and McCain.......No way, No how, No, McCain.......but I am still on the fence about Obama, for many reasons (too many to list), so where are my other choices?  I don't have any other choice, except not to vote.......As a young African American woman, I know I need to vote,  I know I have to vote, or do I?

To vote or not to vote, that is the question.........I just don't know.

Confused and on the fence!

Get informed. Pay attention to what's being said. An uninformed vote is just as bad the wrong vote. Get unconfused and off the fence, or don't cast a vote.

Obama has wrote a book and a speech ..McCain is a decorated veteran war hero and has been in government for 35 years with a positive track record ..whats the question who unless your voting like 95% of the black people out there and voting for the person with the darkest skin instead of the experience and character of the man for who he is and not what he looks like.

You don't have to vote for president. However, pay attention to the propositions on your ballot. They are very important...but tricky...

Hi Voodoodog....I'm trying to get informed and I have been paying close attention....but all I'm hearing is blah, blah, blah......
I'm sooooo sick of hearing about $3,000-$25,000 per plate fund raisers and events, million dollar set up's for conventions, speech platforms and million dollar campaigns...oh yeah don't forget about the pregnant teen we have to hear about daily...(like she is the only pregnant teen in the USA)
I feel I'm pretty informed on the issues and the views of each candidate.....but what will happen once in office?????? I know what u said when you were campaigning for the presidency....but now what?

Craftyguy......I just hope that 95% of the "black people" vote, me included! Thus the reason for my post on this blog...The color of skin has nothing to do with my mixed feelings about voting for the next President of the USA.....If that was the case, my choice clearly would be Obama and we would not be having this discussion.

DfDeportation....The Props are very important...I'm always confused with those...

Can we flip that Republican ticket?

I would recommend reading a wide variety of material. RealClearPolitics.com has been a good source as they offer editorial links from all sides and many different sources. I also think that opensecrets.org is interesting because you can see exactly what individuals and corporations are trying to garner influence based on issues and their contributions. I find myself much happier with the Republican ticket because I am wary in regards to some very questionable business dealings by Senator Obama. However you may decide differently. But I would read up a little on it first. And BTW, the Chicago Trib site has an editorial almost daily on their junior senator. You may want to consider the experiences of those who have had his representaiton in Congress as a guide for what he would do in the White House.

Americans fired or laid-off. Replaced by Illegal Aliens. Americans luckily find next job, at 40% less pay....AND NO BENEFITS? Illegal Aliens get to stay here? And I should support this?

How about the black hotel workers who've been displaced by Illegal Aliens? And not a word out of guys like Najee Ali and Earl Ofari Hutchinson. I know a few black, white, and brown people out of high school who could use a job....but noooooooooooooooo. The SEIU and Tony Villar do nothing to help these guys out...
