Well the DNC show is over...I heard a lot of their leading lights make a lot of speeches..
 I always thought that part of the reason for the dog and pony show we call party conventions
was to make your platform clear.
    All I heard was how bad Bush is..how bad the country is doing, because of..you guessed it..Bush .How terrible the economy is...because of Bush....
Same old thing, over and over. We  hate George W. Bush..OK! We get it!
  Nothing that shows any realistic plan to make things better...and BTW...a lot of the things they blamed on George, were not true.
  Even The Golden Child,The Chosen One,The Obama Apollo...Was not able to give his speech without showing all that anger, that hate ..(What a load of BS THAT stage show was! )
Do you think without Melloncamp and Springfield they would have filled that stadium?

(AP Photo/Jack Dempsey)Denver (AP) - Hispanics should not have to live in fear of raids by immigration agents, Michelle Obama told a Hispanic caucus to the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday.

Her husband, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, wants to reform immigration policies and provide illegal immigrants a path to citizenship, she said.

"We would have an immigration policy that brings 12 million people out of the shadows," she told cheering caucus members who shouted "Yes we can" in Spanish.

Hispanics are often the first to suffer in an economic downturn and the last to benefit during a recovery, she said.

She told the caucus that blacks and Hispanics share an interest in providing access to affordable health care, education and economic opportunities for all Americans, not just a select few.

"We all know our country's journey toward equality isn't finished yet. We have more work to do," she said.

Hispanics could play a key role in the November election, especially in the West where the Obama campaign has been courting them.

Researchers say that although Hispanics make up about 15 percent of the U.S. population, about 9 percent of eligible Hispanic voters are registered to vote and only 6.5 percent do vote, a statistic Republicans and Democrats are trying to change.

Raymond Pedraza, a member of the Nevada Democratic Party's executive committee, said Hispanics are flocking to Obama because they feel they share a similar heritage of economic and civil rights struggles.

"He's our story. He has walked in our shoes and he has walked our mile," Pedraza said.

Another Radical Obama Association?

Old videos appear to show a radical Muslim named Khalid Al-Mansour helped Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama gain acceptance into Harvard Law.

Civil rights activist Percy Sutton recalled being solicited by a man named Dr. Khalid A-Mansour to write a letter of recommendation to help Obama gain acceptance into Harvard Law in this undated television interview available HERE.

"I was introduced to him [Obama] by a friend who was raising money for him and the friends name was Dr. Khalid al Mansour from Texas,” Sutton said. “He is the principle adviser to one of the world's richest men. He told me about Obama. He wrote to me about him and his introduction was 'there is a young man that has applied to Harvard and I know that you have a few friends left there because you used to go up there to speak, would you please write a letter in support of him?'...I wrote a letter in support of him to my friends at Harvard saying to them I thought there was a genius that was going to be available and I sure hoped they would treat him kindly."

There are many videos available on the internet featuring a man named Khalid Al-Mansour, who describes himself as an author, scholar and businessman, blasting the Jewish culture and Christianity and preaching the virtues of Islam, reminiscent of the controversial clips discovered of Obama’s longtime friend and former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright that rocked headlines earlier this spring.

In one of the videos, titled “Christians Designed Discrimination” uploaded by a YouTube user named IslamStudios, Al-Mansour said, “White people don't feel bad, whatever you do to them, they deserve it, God wants you to do it and that's when you cut out the nose, cut out the ears, take flesh out of their body, don't worry because God wants you to do it."

He also draws lines between whites and African Americans. “The Christianity that white people got and the Christianity that black people got was not the same,” he added.

In this video, Al-Monsour said white people fear Islam. “The whites are saying we can’t take over Islam, we are going to destroy it. They don’t care if you become a Buddhist, they don’t care if you are a Confuscist, you can be a Christian, you can be anything in this world you want, the only thing they are afraid of is Islam because there is 1 billion 200 million, they don’t want you with that league!

In another video, posted July 1, Al-Mansour styles himself as a political analyst, advising former president Bill Clinton when, where and how Clinton should endorse Obama for president. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBnBnXPQwyM

Good Morning America is doing a series called "Meet the Joneses" in order to highlight the "average American family" and see how it deals with healthcare. One of the families was Lourdes and Bill Jones. They are working parents who are raising three children in California. Their top concern for this election is healthcare, and here's why: "Their young daughter has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD. Her treatment costs $160 per month, but insurance does not cover it." Imagine that. Their daughter is suffering from a phony disease and can't afford her "treatment." I bet this family has cable. I bet their daughter has a cell phone. I'm sure that they each have a car. The point is, folks, that you do not have a right to healthcare ... much less for a phony disease. If you are concerned about the cost, sacrifice. Make it happen. Don't expect a presidential candidate to give it to you "for free" on a platter.
