Well, it was his daughter's idea to put that message out in the open so obviously she didn't care what she would have to endure at school. But on Alec's defense everyone has there days an this was not right for them to violate his privacy they should have dealt with this in a different way and that conversation or message should have not been aired

Personally I think we as parents all have our days... Days when your precious little angels are the most ungrateful, selfish little brats on this earth. Being famous and putting your life out there for the public to judge is part of that package. Now the parents can choose to make an adult decision and really grow up and raise their daughter, which in my opinion has yet to happen. Like many of us today, the parents unknowingly put their needs and wants before the childs. It is not only Hollywood who is allowing the public and other people to raise their kids, it is everwhere. We need to take a look in the mirror before judging other parents, we have all done selfish and hurtful things towards our children that we wish we could redo.We can't and neither can they. Give the guy a break for making a bad phone call, for taking his anger out on the wrong person, for being selfish and unthoughtful for a minute, I am sure he is a lot harder on himself than we can imagine. We all have those days and if we say we don't or never would have said that to our children... then we also have to deal with what we have said to our children. May not have been the same words Alec used but we have hurt or let our children down the same way. I am sure as a Hollywood child she knows exactly how to play her parents and Hollywood knows this. This phone message will not ruin her self esteem for the rest of her life, let it go, and I am sure she will grow up and not be emotionally impacted from her dad calling her a pig. There are worse things a child will endure, this should not have been

I think that we need to learn how to really communicate with one another. Tell your child that what he has done or the way he acts is selfish or what ever. Instead of just saying that they are selfish. The one way you are attacking what they did not who they are.
I feel bad for all the abuses both physical and verbal and emotional that so many of us have been hurt by. Our children are our future so it is important how we raise them. I fear that too many people are just letting their kids grow up and they aren't being raised into loving capable responsible sensitive people. Remember, one day these very children will either be taking care of you when you can no longer care for yourself or they will be the ones deciding what nursing home to put you in. If nothing else motivates you to try harder then I dont know what will.

Jillianhater....What proof do you have that Alec's daughter is the one who released the tape to the media? Sounds more like the Mom to me. How would this eleven year old girl know who to contact. On the other hand her mother has dealt with the press for years. With the parents situation being so ugly (child custody battle) it very well could have been Kim Basinger.
