Well it is simply, the past, present and future. It is a growing musical trend that is overtaking the world. It is made up of several musical components. Fast moving Motown and Soul musical tunes of the mid 1960's to the early 1970's and the dancing to it is a mixture of Irish clogging mixed with Disco splits and traditional dance for faster tunes. Here, listen to this youtube posting and you will soon realize what Northern Soul is. It is the past and future and present times coming together in a new musical trend and it is growing more over time. It is a persistent beat, with energy, drive, consistency and direction.

Click the menu button and there are some linked tracks. Always remember if you like the tunes to buy the mp3 or cd and support the artists. BTW, this was what Black Americans produced as real music, not the rap crap we hear today. This music really has soul, it moves you, makes you want to get out on the dance floor. I can see Christine Devine's wild side doing the dance to this, Gina, Leelila and a few other Fox women, and on the guys side there is Rick Dickert, the flying, donut-ducking, energy dude, Tony McEwing, Tony's got the special moves especially when he is dressed like a Marahjah, and don't forget the other Tony (Valdez) with the shiny head (women dig shiny scalps!!!), but the dude with the moves I can really see dancing this would be Markie "Baby" Thompson, cause Markie is da man wit da moves. Maybe Christine can get a wavier for this on the 10pm news and get Mark doing it on the weather. That I can dig. She could join him too and drag Carlos out as well. I'll bet Carlos really tears a mean floor strip to rhythm music...!

Not sure they would. I mean that they seem to be stuck on hip-hop or rap and that is about it, or the modern artists only. FOX ignores a lot of the older music and this is more then just old music, it is an exploding revival of sorts, combining a new way of dancing to older tunes from a very different age in the world's listening habits.
