free music without it being a crime

so the other day i was hanging out with my oldest sister,and she told me about a cool new music website. she told me it's free, and you get to listen to anything you like. basically you type in a name of a song, or a artist, and the website will play that song or a song from that artist, then follow it with other songs in the similar style. you get to vote for the songs you enjoy or dislike, and read up about the artist, album, song, and even blog about it. it's just a very cool site to listen to some good tunes, and to get a chance to find new songs/bands that you never have heard of but might enjoy.

the only downside to the site is that you can't download any of the songs unless you purchase them, you can't rewind songs that you heard, and you need cable or dsl to be able to access it. other then that, it's all good.

This is one big reason why we have no more neighborhood music stores and Tower Records has gone the way of the Dodo.

pretty cool, samo... this is a business model that works for everyone, actually. allows the music companies to market their wares, and the consumer to sample what's out there... a nice win-win.

Is it last(dot)fm? If not, check that site out. It's a great website. It also tracks the music you listen to and creates personal charts.

VooDoo, being a musician I know exactly how you feel. But a site like this doesn't harm the music industry. It's all the illegal ones that are bring the industry down to its knees. I'm scared because I don't know whats going to happen. But mostly I'm scared because I don't know how long it'll take for the industry to bounce back.

i have to agree with lee and lux all the way. it's a great way for bands to get exposer, a great way for us to check out bands or cd's that we normally wouldn't. plus they play alot of music that the radio stations won't play. so if your tired of listeing to the same stuff they play on the radio, and not want to hear those anoying commercials at the top of every hour check it out. thanks coffman for all the love. catch ya all later. happy easter to all.

Yes Samo it begin a crime, Is true because I listen a lot of music everyday, you have pay for listem music !? You could listen music at street, radio, etc...

i'm 23 years old. i work in westminster at a steel manufacturing company. i'm the production manager there. i have been a big fan of the fox 11 news. i also enjoy many of their shows too, so mostly when i do watch tv, it's always channel 11. as for me, well i'm mostly into rock music, going out to concerts and just having a great time doing whatever. i'm down for it all. i also am a big U.F.C. fan, and i love pro-wrestling. i guess i'm your typical guy's guy.
