Most educated American adults know that you don't compare black people to any type of ape! This is a classic racist stereotype used since slave times to demean and dehumanize black people.

Most educated American adults already knew this- but some people need to be reminded from time to time, because they lack common sense and cultural literacy.

The difference between calling a white man an ape or monkey and a black person an ape or monkey is readily apparent to all American adults with any sort of common sense.

If my white friend has a hairy back and protruding ears and I call him a gorilla, that is perfectly acceptable, but if my black friend does- I have enough sense not to call or compare him to any type of primate because that has a long and sad history in this country and would at the very least be socially awkward and at the worst injure his pride and insult him.

Are you so deft that you cannot see this difference? Or are you just pretending to be clueless?

This is right out of the book, "How to Argue like a Liberal."

1) Attack the person who dares to defy you and your “facts”. They don’t know who you are so put them in their place. Equate the objector’s arguments with the views that supported the Holocaust.

2) Call the objector names (idiot, cowboy, bigot, Hitler, Right-wing etc...). If they supply facts that bring your argument into question, you can call the objectors racists, and homophobes, xenophobes, and Nazis to add real emphasis to your argument.

3) Change the subject to the poor and minorities and how the objector seeks to oppress them. (New 2007 edition says to also change the subject to Global Warming and call the objector a stooge of they oil company and call them Global Warmers deniers...)

4) Discredit their sources by adding the word “BIG”. Big oil, Big pharmaceutical, Big food, etc.

5) Cry like a girl.

6) Throw food, preferably at the objector.

7) If your objector keeps questioning you, claim to be a victim of some sort. Pick one of many groups. Minorities work best. (see #5)

Did anyone notice the sub-title on the book ? It reads TRUTH. But that is something you " BUSHwhackers " continue to deny.

I guess it's okay to be derrogatory toward a person of the same race, but not toward those of another? I'm not fond of Bush and things he stands for or has done, but I also am not fond of those who have double standards, either. You know, the same thing - "it's okay if I do it because MY opinion is what matters and no one else's. But God forbid anyone has a joke on something I personally believe in."
