Neighbor Surprises Suspected Burglars With Shotgun Blast, Ties Them Up For Police

POSTED: 2:23 pm EST January 5, 2007

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Two suspected burglars in Daytona Beach were beaten and tied up by homeowners after a shotgun-wielding neighbor noticed a brawl and jumped to action, according to a Local 6 News report.

Investigators said William Aviles and his brother broke into some homes at the Silverton apartments located on Silver Beach Avenue in Daytona Beach Friday.

Some homeowners walked in on the men in their homes, and a fight ensued.

"Sterling Moore fired off a warning shot into the air, startling the burglars who were involved in an all-out brawl with homeowners who caught them in the act," Local 6's Tarik Minor said. "These burglars picked the wrong group of guys to rob. First, these burglars got beat up and then they were tied up with zip ties."

Neighbor Sterling Moore said he did not have time to call police.

"I didn't know who the people were," Moore said. "I didn't know what they were doing. I didn't know what they had -- knives, guns or anything. My best buddy was being attacked on the stairs. I didn't have time to call the police. I grabbed a shotgun and shot one off into the air. It scared them. They froze, and they stopped. I got the zip ties out of my toolbox and zip-tied them. Everyone is safe, and I neutralized the problem."

The homeowners said their hearts were racing as they found the intruders inside their apartments, Minor said.

Police said the suspected burglars were after electronics, jewelry and other items.

One of the suspected burglars threatened the homeowners as he was being hauled away to the Volusia County Jail.

"I bet you I'll be back," Aviles said. "I bet you I'll be back. I bet you I'll be back. I'll be back. I'm going to blow a hole in you."

The brothers face burglary and assault charges.

Guardsmen overrun at the Border

12 News
Jan. 4, 2007 02:44 PM

A U.S. Border Patrol entry Identification Team site was overrun Wednesday night along Arizona's border with Mexico.

According to the Border Patrol, an unknown number of gunmen from the Mexican side attacked the site in the state's West Desert Region around 11 p.m. The site is manned by National Guardsmen. Those guardsmen were forced to retreat.

The Border Patrol says the incident occurred along the 120 mile section of the border between Nogales and Lukeville. The area is known as a drug corridor. Last year, 124-thousand pounds of illegal drugs were confiscated in this area.

The Border patrol says the attackers retreated back into Mexico.

===================================

Did you read that? U.S. National Guard troops were forced to RETREAT (Because they are sent down there WITHOUT weapons for fear of OFFENDING the Illegal Aliens or looking like a MILITARY presense on the border) when armed insurgents from Mexico INVADED our country in Arizona!

WHY ISN’T THIS PAGE ONE NEWS ACROSS AMERICA???

You can be sure of this: the new Democrat-led Congress isn’t going to do anything about this. In fact, it already looks like they’re ready to refuse to fund the border fence Congress voted to build -- and President Bush signed into law -- last year!

SOMEONE needs to do something -- and now, someone IS: the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps is building a REAL border fence along the U.S.-Mexico border!

The Minuteman Border Fence is an extension of the citizens' border security group Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. It was created to put steel in the ground and to demonstrate the feasibility of securing the border by building fencing as a part of the Minuteman Movement, the grassroots initiative that seeks to secure America's sovereign territory against incursion, invasion, and terrorism.

As we can see AGAIN from this news story, the United States is under siege by forces and interests that have the capacity, over time, to destroy our great experiment of responsible self-government.

Members of the MCDC are organizing as citizen volunteers, to safeguard our beloved nation from violence, from sedition, from wholesale attack by those who do not love America and wish to see her destroyed or irremediably altered from a nation of liberty, equality, and justice, and a bastion of western civilization. The Minutemen are recruiting and training volunteer citizens who will stand as patriots for the promise that is, and ever has been, America to build a border fence.

If you are concerned about the chaos upon our broken borders, if you believe America should welcome legal immigration but reject colonization and Balkanization, then we need to join together to help the Minutemen secure the future of our nation for the American people and her posterity.

And a GREAT start is to build a REAL border fence along the Mexican border… to help STOP the “incursions” like this latest one in Arizona!

The new Congress will likely succeed at undoing federal plans to build 700 miles of fence, leaving the Minuteman Border Fence the only real barrier being built. It is therefore imperative that the people of the United States support and build the Minuteman Border Fence themselves -- until this government gets the message and is forced to do its job and fully and competently secure our national border.

A new immigration bill is proposed that will grant citizenship rights to 20 million illegal aliens. The U.S. Senate is playing dangerous politics with American national border security and the lives of legal US citizens.

"The thing that's in the greatest jeopardy right now is the fence, because they do have the appropriations process and that's probably the one they can stop," according to Congressman Tom Tancredo.

Sometimes a good quote will inspire or motivate you.

Sometimes, they'll just put a smile on your face! Here is the quote for this week...

My God! How little do my countrymen know what precious blessings they are in possession of, and which no other people on earth enjoy!

A general letter to those who believe that President Bush is the American equivalent to Saddam Hussein:

First, Saddam made an effort to have an AMERICAN court stay his execution. Odd, isn't it, that in his moment of crisis, Hussein had more hope in the United States than Cindy Sheehan, et al, have.

Second, you don't like Bush? Fine - just wait another thirteen months or so. There will be an election and every single registered voter in the United States will have an opportunity to have his or her say.

Third, this is America, land of the free and home of the brave. This is America, where the rule of law applies to everyone equally. The system NEVER fails us; it is corrupt people within the system, liberal and conservative alike, who fail us. So, GO to Iran, GO to North Korea, build a time machine and GO back to Iraq during Saddam's reign of terror, and just try to disagree with the leader. They'll be sending your head home in a hat box.

Fourth, this is America! That means that we defend the rights of every single citizen to say just about anything he wants. Under Saddam's control, the Iraqi version of Cindy Sheehan would have been gang-raped and executed in some incredibly brutal fashion. Here she has police protection.

So, I have two messages for those of you who are terrified that America will someday "rule the world":

First - we don't want to. We want sovereign nations to rule themselves. Thus, Iraq has a sovereign government, and we haven't taken out Kim and freed North Korea. That doesn't mean that if they prove a credible threat we won't. It just means that we really do prefer that they solve their own problems.

Second, the world would be infinitely better off with American justice, values, and attitudes. Oops - did I offend someone? Gee, sorry. Can you name ONE other country that has the kind of illegal immigration problem the US has? Of course not! People the world over are literally dying to get here! And our problems come from being both easy to get along with (we don't execute illegals here), and the best possible place on earth to call home. Or, did I miss the huge international rush to get into Syria?

Half of family wiped out
in Christmas Eve crash

A suspected illegal alien from Mexico is being held in the Salt Lake County jail in lieu of $500,000 after running a red light and broadsiding a family of six, killing three, on Christmas Eve.

Carlos Prieto was arraigned this morning and charged with three counts of automobile homicide, three counts of driving under the influence and driving without a license. The charging documents say his blood-alcohol level was above the legal limit, KSL-TV of Salt Lake City, reported.

The Ceran family, active in local theater and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, were returning home after attending a performance of Dicken's "The Christmas Carol," which featured several family members, when their car was struck by a truck driven by Carlos Prieto.

The crash killed Cheryl Ceran, 47, and two of her children, 15-year-old Ian and 7-year-old Julinna. Cheryl Ceran's husband, Gary Ceran, 45, and their 19-year-old daughter, Clarissa, and 12-year-old son, Caleb, were injured.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the police affidavit filed at the jail said Prieto smelled strongly of alcohol and had glassy, bloodshot eyes at the accident scene and admitted he had been drinking prior to driving that night. Jail records indicate Prieto has at least two previous drunken driving arrests.

A spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the agency has interviewed Prieto and suspects he is in the U.S. illegally but declined to reveal what he told investigators.

The Cerans are no strangers to grief, having lost three children to a rare brain cancer and two to premature births over the past several years.

WND has reported on the growing list of illegal immigrants who have not only ignored U.S. immigration laws, but state laws against drinking and driving as well, killing innocents on the highways in the process, including:

Eduardo Raul Morales-Soriano: When this illegal alien, working as a landscaper in Maryland, killed Marine Cpl. Brian Mathews, 21, and his date, Jennifer Bower, 24, on Thanksgiving night, 2006, it wasn't his first accident where alcohol was apparently involved. Nine months before, he was issued four citations and sent home with a friend after a single-car accident when he refused a Breathalyzer test. A policeman's error resulted in Morales-Soriano – who took advantage of North Carolina's easy rules to obtain his driver's license in 2004 – getting his license returned. On the night he killed the young couple, police say his blood alcohol level was measured at .32 – four times the legal level in Maryland for intoxication. Mathews had served 8 months in Iraq and completed another tour of duty in the Pacific.

Jorge Humberto Hernandez-Soto: Police say was driving more than 100 mph on the wrong side of Interstate 485 when he collided head-on with the car of 18-year-old Min Soon Chang, a freshman from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, killing him. According to authorities, the illegal alien had already been sent back to Mexico 17 times and convicted of impaired driving at least a couple of times before the November 2005 crash.

Jose Trejo Encino: The 27-year-old illegal alien from Mexico admitted to deputies, at the scene of the November 2006 single car accident that killed one of his passengers and injured another, "to drinking a 12-pack of beer earlier in the night," but not before first trying to throw the cans of beer he still had in his car into the woods before police arrived.

Luis Oscar Garcia: Police said Garcia had a strong odor of alcohol on his person and that his pants were soaked with a liquid that indicated the presence of alcohol when he ran a red light and killed 18-year-old James F. Rogers Jr. of North Jackson, Tenn., in August 2006. The 24-year-old Mexican had been living in the U.S. without a green card for three years.

Marcos Ramos Medina: The 35-year-old Mexican had twice been deported when, on Aug. 4, 2005, his car swerved several times across the center line, causing a tractor-trailer rig to jackknife in Yakima, Wash. His car then plowed head-on into the 2000 Lexus driven by Peggy Keller, 53, dean of distance education at Yakima Valley Community College, killing her at the scene. Medina, who was found to have at least eight aliases and falsely identified himself at his first court appearance, escaped serious injury. The case against the Mexican national was declared a mistrial in August 2006 because his constitutional right to remain silent had been violated. It took a second jury only 30 minutes to find Medina guilty three months later.

Rios Sanchez: Despite having pleaded guilty to driving without a license in 2005, and similar counts in March and April of 2006, Sanchez was still on the road on Oct. 27, 2006, when he crossed the yellow line near Sanford, N.C., and collided head-on with a stationwagon carrying Helen Meghan Hughes, 22, of Summerville, S.C., Jennifer Carter, 18, of Jacksonville, N.C., and Hughes' stepbrother, 16-year-old Ben Leonard. All three were killed. The 55-year-old illegal alien was allegedly drunk and carrying a forged residency card.

Ramiro Gallegos: In July 2005, Gallegos had already been charged on three separate occasions with drunk driving. His fourth offence caused the death of Scott Gardiner of Mount Holly, N.C., a father of two young children, when the Mexican citizen's truck struck Gardner's station wagon as he drove his family to the coast for vacation.

Vitalina Bautista Vargas: Neighbors of Louella Winton said the van driven by Vargas, an illegal alien from Mexico, never slowed down before plowing through Winton's home, knocking the 91-year-old woman, who had been asleep in bed, against the wall of the house next door and leaving her under the vehicle outside the house. Winton died of complications from her injuries.

As WND has reported, the mayhem on America's highways isn't limited to illegals who drive only while intoxicated.

Little caution, critics say, is being exercised when it comes to preventing mayhem on America's highways as the country witnesses record high numbers of unlicensed, unregistered, uninsured drivers –millions of whom are illegal aliens.

While no one – in or out of government – tracks traffic accidents caused by illegal aliens, the statistical and anecdotal evidence suggests many of last year's 42,636 road deaths involved illegal aliens.

A report by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Study found 20 percent of fatal accidents involve at least one driver who lacks a valid license. In California, another study showed that those who have never held a valid license are about five times more likely to be involved in a fatal road accident than licensed drivers.

Statistically, that makes them an even greater danger on the road than drivers whose licenses have been suspended or revoked – and nearly as dangerous as drunk drivers.

When you decide to go to war, make sure you go ball’s deep. The ROEs (Rules of Engagement) have devolved to the point of absurdity and our forces are more fearful of UCMJ violations than they are of enemy insurgents. This devolution of the ROEs in Iraq originated from an institutional CYA instinct by the DOD and senior commanders resulting from sensationalist media coverage of such events as Abu Ghraib, CIA "secret prisons", and various manufactured Gitmo abuse claims.

The Ethiopian Army has imposed no such constraints on itself and is doing to Islamist forces in Somalia in days what the UN, and the US weren’t able to achieve in years. Reports from the front indicate that the Islamic Courts who had been administering Sharia law in Mogadishu have surrendered and fled the city in advance of the Ethiopian assault. Obviously, the Ethiopian Army’s combat power, training, and capabilities are a mere fraction of ours and yet they are decisively defeating a fanatical and entrenched enemy in an urban environment. Why?

Off the top of my head, I would say that Ethiopia is not afflicted with a pernicious and defeatist media machine that is capable of manipulating public opinion, and even if it was, it doesn’t look like the Ethiopian president would give a damn in any case. The word that comes to mind is resolve. When a leader resolves to send men into battle, he is obligated to withstand the criticism of the media so that the troops who are withstanding hostile fire from the enemy are able to decisively defeat that enemy. This is the area where the President, Rumsfeld, and the Generals have been found wanting. Wars cannot be won with restrictive ROEs that allow the enemy to use our self imposed limitations against us. If the situation dictates that ROEs of this type must be employed, then it has not yet reached a point where combat troops are warranted.

This vicious cycle, in my opinion, is a primary reason for our difficulties in Iraq and the reversal of these policies, meant to protect military commanders and administration officials from criticism, would end up being the best "way forward" strategy that we could employ.

President Bush's Kwanzaa message this year skipped the patently absurd claim of years past that: "African-Americans and people around the world reflect on African heritage during Kwanzaa." Instead, he simply said: "I send greetings to those observing Kwanzaa."

More African-Americans spent this season reflecting on the birth of Christ and celebrating CHRISTMAS than some phony non-Christian holiday invented a few decades ago by an FBI stooge. Kwanzaa is a holiday for white liberals, not blacks.

It is a fact that Kwanzaa was invented in 1966 by a black radical FBI pawn, Ron Karenga, aka Dr. Maulana Karenga. Karenga was a founder of United Slaves, a violent nationalist rival to the Black Panthers and a dupe of the FBI.

In what was probably a foolish gamble, during the madness of the '60s the FBI encouraged the most extreme black nationalist organizations in order to discredit and split the left. The more preposterous the organization, the better. Karenga's United Slaves was perfect. In the annals of the American '60s, Karenga was the Father Gapon, stooge of the czarist police.

Despite modern perceptions that blend all the black activists of the '60s, the Black Panthers did not hate whites. They did not seek armed revolution. Those were the precepts of Karenga's United Slaves. United Slaves were proto-fascists, walking around in dashikis, gunning down Black Panthers and adopting invented "African" names. (That was a big help to the black community: How many boys named "Jamal" currently sit on death row?)

Whether Karenga was a willing dupe, or just a dupe, remains unclear. Curiously, in a 1995 interview with Ethnic NewsWatch, Karenga matter-of-factly explained that the forces out to get O.J. Simpson for the "framed" murder of two whites included "the FBI, the CIA, the State Department, Interpol, the Chicago Police Department" and so on. Karenga should know about FBI infiltration. (He further noted that the evidence against O.J. "was not strong enough to prohibit or eliminate unreasonable doubt" -- an interesting standard of proof.)

In the category of the-gentleman-doth-protest-too-much, back in the '70s, Karenga was quick to criticize rumors that black radicals were government-supported. When Nigerian newspapers claimed that some American black radicals were CIA operatives, Karenga publicly denounced the idea, saying, "Africans must stop generalizing about the loyalties and motives of Afro-Americans, including the widespread suspicion of black Americans being CIA agents."

Now we know that the FBI fueled the bloody rivalry between the Panthers and United Slaves. In one barbarous outburst, Karenga's United Slaves shot to death Black Panthers Al "Bunchy" Carter and Deputy Minister John Huggins on the UCLA campus. Karenga himself served time, a useful stepping-stone for his current position as a black studies professor at California State University at Long Beach.

Kwanzaa itself is a lunatic blend of schmaltzy '60s rhetoric, black racism and Marxism. Indeed, the seven "principles" of Kwanzaa praise collectivism in every possible arena of life -- economics, work, personality, even litter removal. ("Kuumba: Everyone should strive to improve the community and make it more beautiful.") It takes a village to raise a police snitch.

When Karenga was asked to distinguish Kawaida, the philosophy underlying Kwanzaa, from "classical Marxism," he essentially explained that under Kawaida, we also hate whites. While taking the "best of early Chinese and Cuban socialism" -- which one assumes would exclude the forced abortions, imprisonment for homosexuals and forced labor -- Kawaida practitioners believe one's racial identity "determines life conditions, life chances and self-understanding." There's an inclusive philosophy for you.

(Sing to "Jingle Bells")

Kwanzaa bells, dashikis sell
Whitey has to pay;
Burning, shooting, oh what fun
On this made-up holiday!

Coincidentally, the seven principles of Kwanzaa are the very same seven principles of the Symbionese Liberation Army, another charming invention of the Least-Great Generation. In 1974, Patricia Hearst, kidnap victim-cum-SLA revolutionary, posed next to the banner of her alleged captors, a seven-headed cobra. Each snake head stood for one of the SLA's revolutionary principles: Umoja, Kujichagulia, Ujima, Ujamaa, Nia, Kuumba and Imani -- the same seven "principles" of Kwanzaa.

With his Kwanzaa greetings, President Bush is saluting the intellectual sibling of the Symbionese Liberation Army, killer of housewives and police. He is saluting the founder of United Slaves, who were such lunatics that they shot Panthers for not being sufficiently insane -- all with the FBI as their covert ally.

It's as if David Duke invented a holiday called "Anglika," and the president of the United States issued a presidential proclamation honoring the synthetic holiday. People might well take notice if that happened.

Kwanzaa was the result of a '60s psychosis grafted onto the black community. Liberals have become so mesmerized by multicultural nonsense that they have forgotten the real history of Kwanzaa and Karenga's United Slaves -- the violence, the Marxism, the insanity. Most absurdly, for leftists anyway, is that they have forgotten the FBI's tacit encouragement of this murderous black nationalist cult founded by the father of Kwanzaa.

Now the "holiday" concocted by an FBI dupe is honored in a presidential proclamation and public schools across the nation. The only principle Kwanzaa promotes is liberals' unbounded capacity to respect any faith but Christianity.

A movement that started approximately 2,000 years before Kwanzaa leaps well beyond collectivism and litter removal to proclaim that we are all equal before God. "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28). It was practitioners of that faith who were at the forefront of the abolitionist and civil rights movements. But that's all been washed down the memory hole, along with the true origins of Kwanzaa.

What is the deal with these dolls? I was in the Bullseye store looking at some toys for a friend's daughter. I spotted these BRATZ dolls and every damn one of them looked like a hooker! Mini-skirts. Bustiers. Slutty makeup. Thigh-high boots. Gawdy jewelry. Names that made me think they were in the porn industry.

One thing they all had in common? They all emulate the hip-hop culture. So kids are listening to this cRAP music, as well as playing with dolls that look like they walked out of a cRAP video.

Disturbing.

Any "parent" that buys this for their kids isn't paying attention.

That, or they just don't care. Methinks this is the case.

As I was walking away in disbelief, a mother stops in front of them with her daughter who was maybe 10 years old. The mother looked like a grown-up version right off the box. Dressed the same, only older. Through her Spanglish, I could make out what she was saying to her daughter.

"Ooooh, she's a hot mami! I love her outfit!"

That's all I needed to hear to get the answer to my questions...

Applicants line up to fill jobs left empty by Swift plant illegal alien raid

By Fernando Quintero, Rocky Mountain News
December 15, 2006

GREELEY - The line of applicants hoping to fill jobs vacated by illegal alien workers taken away by immigration agents at the Swift & Co. meat-processing plant earlier this week was out the door Thursday.

Among them was Derrick Stegall, who carefully filled out paperwork he hoped would get him an interview and eventually land him a job as a slaughterer.

Greg Bonifacio heard about the job openings on television and brought his passport, his Colorado driver's license, his Social Security card and even a color photograph of himself as a young U.S. Naval officer to prove his military service.

"I don't want to hassle with any identification problems because of my last name," said Bonifacio, a 59- year-old Thornton resident of Filipino heritage.

As it turned out, the Colorado Workforce office that was taking applications did not require any identification.

That would come later for those who made it past the interview process.

Bonifacio was hoping to get a job in production or fabrication. So was Nathan Korgan, a former construction worker whose company closed and moved to California.

"I feel bad for the kids of the illegal aliens, but good for me," said Korgan of Tuesday's raid.

Like many others who had mixed emotions about the raid, Maxine Hernandez said she was upset that families were torn apart, but believes illegal aliens should not get work using fake documents.

"I guess I'm in the middle," she said. "But I do think they should have planned (the raid) better so that innocent children wouldn't be left behind."

Hernandez, who had gone to the employment office because her husband was there to apply for unemployment insurance, decided to apply for a job at Swift on a whim.

"My whole family used to work there. My mom, my aunt, uncles," she said. "I guess it sort of runs in our blood."

*********************

The whole "jobs Americans don't want to do" mantra is complete and utter BS to the highest degree! The line to apply was out the door! And guess what? It was populated by AMERICAN CITIZENS!! Don't be fooled by the Pro-Illegal Alien groups out there claiming that these foreign INVADERS are here to fill jobs that our citizens don't want! Our own government is forcing our blue collar and lower class citizens into forced poverty by granting JOBS and BENEFITS to ILLEGAL ALIENS!! I AM SOOOOOO SICK OF IT ALL!!!!

Associated Press | December 13, 2006

WASHINGTON - Though Americans are increasingly pessimistic about the war in Iraq, the Pentagon said Tuesday it is having success enlisting new troops. The Navy and Air Force met their recruiting goals last month while the Army and Marine Corps exceeded theirs, the Defense Department announced.

The Army, which is bearing the brunt of the work in Iraq, did the best. It signed up 6,485 new recruits in November compared with its target of 6,150 - meaning 105 percent of its goal.

All the services turned in similar performances in October as well, meaning they so far are meeting their goals for the 2007 budget year that began Oct. 1.

"The services are starting off well," said Maj. Stewart Upton, a Pentagon spokesman.

The progress in recruiting comes as U.S. pessimism over the Iraq campaign mounts, according to a recent AP-Ipsos poll. Some 63 percent of Americans said they don't expect a stable, democratic government to be established in Iraq, up from 54 percent who felt that way in June.

Dissatisfaction with President Bush's handling of Iraq has climbed to an all-time high of 71 percent, according to the AP-Ipsos survey this month. A bipartisan commission last week released its recommendations for a new course and the president held a series of meetings this week to hear from his advisers.

According to figures released Tuesday by the Pentagon, the Navy signed up 2,887 recruits last month, or 100 percent of its goal; Marines signed up 2,095, or 104 percent of its 2,012 target and the Air Force signed up all 1,877 it was seeking.

The Army also met its goal in the 2006 budget year after missing its target in fiscal year 2005 for the first time since 1999. It added recruiters and offered recruits bonuses to help attract more to the service.

The Army has been recruiting about 80,000 people a year, setting differing monthly goals depending on the time of the year.
##############################

So, what does this tell us? That Americans aren't as bent out of shape over Iraq as the media and the Libs would want us to believe? That there are citizens that actually BELIEVE in what we're trying to accomplish over there?

If this war is as unpopular as we are supposed to believe, then how are they meeting or exceeding their recruitment goals?

Somebody is lying... oh look! A big pile of (D) Donkey shat! Don't step in it!

"We must prepare to rule the world."
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran

"We have a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization."
Hassan Abbassi,
Top advisor to Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei

Do you sometimes think Western Civilization has its head in the sand... or gone mad?

I mean, what part of "rule the world" don't European and American leaders understand?

Which nuance of "the destruction of Anglo-Saxon civilization" escapes the profound intellect of liberal elites?

Most of all, how is it possible these deep-in-denial defeatists can't (or won't) see the profound danger of messianic, medieval minds in possession of the most horrific weapons on earth?

It's enough to make you despair -- or think that maybe the appeasement crowd is right: The problems we face today: terror attacks at home, abroad and in the sky -- bitter Muslim hatred -- unrelenting media bias against the U.S. and Israel -- record-high oil and gasoline prices -- are just too difficult to confront.

DON'T BELIEVE IT! It wasn't so long ago that one man stood tall and triumphed over dangers virtually identical to those challenging America today.

Many have forgotten and, tragically -- many more have NEVER been taught -- that Ronald Wilson Reagan became President in a global crisis almost identical to today's troubles.

And yet, in the teeth of pervasive defeatism and savage personal criticism from the Left and the global media, Reagan was able to accomplish miracles...

A fanatical Iranian leader cried "Uncle" -- 20 minutes after Reagan took office. (Why they surrendered is a lesson many Western leaders have utterly forgotten today.)

The back of a decade-long energy crisis was broken -- with one stroke of Reagan's pen. (The same, common-sense approach would work again.)

An aggressive nuclear enemy was defeated -- by Reagan's unshakable belief in American strength and exceptionalism. (This belief is under attack today, but the tide can be reversed.)

How Reagan achieved his great victories are the forgotten lessons America needs today.

American needs another Ronald Reagan in 2008!

WASHINGTON, Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Five of six Muslim imams who were taken off a US Airways flight in Minneapolis last month want an out-of-court settlement from the airline for the ordeal.

After the Nov. 28 incident, the airline offered to meet with the group of clerics Dec. 4, but the men declined and instead sought legal help from the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Washington (CAIR).

"With the hopes of reaching an amicable resolution to this matter, we would like to take this opportunity to ask for a formal meeting with US Airways executives and legal counsel," Arsalan Iftikhar, CAIR's national legal director, wrote to the airline.

There are conflicting reports of what happened after security agents escorted the men off the plane based on other passengers' complaints of suspicious activity, the Washington Times said Monday.

CAIR claims the men were handcuffed for several hours, but one of the imams told the Times he was only handcuffed for "10 or 15 minutes" and that the imams were not led off the plane in handcuffs.

An airline spokeswoman said the meeting request was received, but a date has not been set.

You know what?

SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!

You unfortunately have the "face" of our enemy, so you WILL be subjected to closer observation and monitoring by the CITIZENS of the country that people of YOUR RACE/RELIGION attacked.

As Imams, you of all people should be the ones shouting to the heavens how you CONDEMN those that do such things in the name of your religion. But no, you are silent. You make one or two statements when it will save your hides or you're under pressure, but that's all.

You will find no sympathy here!

Kofi Annan gave his farewell address today. He COULD have condemned Iran, but he didn't. Instead, he took a few last shots at the United States. He showed us how he really feels about the US.

It's hard to be offended by the remarks of such an incompetent leader of such a USELESS organization.

We have nobody to depend on but ourselves.

Merry Ramahanakwanzamass.
