President Bush is pushing to expand on NAFTA, pushing for the proposed Colombia pact. Administration officials say the agreement will help level the playing field for U.S. companies. Bush said he's going to send the measure to the Capitol after the Easter break. Because of the fast-track trade authority that was in effect when the agreement was signed, there will be a 90 day deadline for a vote, with no amendments or filibusters allowed.

Bush said:

"The Colombia agreement is pivotal to America's national security and economic interests right now, and it is too important to be held up by politics," he said. "There needs to be a vote on Colombia this year."

He also stated that this pact would create more jobs for Colombians in effect making it harder to "recruit people to violence and terrorism and drug trafficking."

He also stated:

"NAFTA has worked," Bush said. "People shouldn't back away from NAFTA."

It's pretty obvious how out of touch with the American people this man is. He has damaged this country to deeply. It's undeniable that he will go down as the worst president in US history. I support Congressmen Kucinich's effort to impeach Bush. It's time to get this man out of office before he destroys our nation further!

Alex Veiga reports at AP:

The median price in a six-county area of Southern California fell to $408,000 — the lowest level since October 2004, when it was $402,500. That median is 19.2 percent below the region’s peak price of $505,000 last summer, and it’s 1.7 percent below January’s median, the firm said.

In the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area, the median price fell 11.6 percent to $548,000 compared to a year earlier and 17.6 percent from the region’s peak median price of $665,000 last summer. Bay Area prices were essentially flat from January.

What happened in a nutshell: California prices were propped up because of migration from the rest of the US–and immigration from other parts of the world. Now, Americans are leaving California faster than they are coming–and the productivity of the newcomers isn’t enough to support the insane values of California real estate.

The California of today is has become more like Mexico–and more like Hong Kong–but mostly more like Mexico. That means more corrupt and poorer services. We are even seeing shanty towns emerge in Socal–and many of the residents don’t appear to be recent immigrants.

I wonder if the American people are aware of the two clauses in the NAFTA agreement that state that the United States will not be allowed to EVER put armed military along the southern border, even at a time of war.

The only reason you're still using Dollars instead of Ameros is that Bush's amnesty plan was stomped, but don't worry, all three candidates this year are on the committee that's working on the North American Union.

Kiss your sovereignty and your nation goodbye.

Alberto Lozano, a very smug spokesman for the Mexican Consulate in San Diego, told Minutemen demonstrators (on March 13th) that “This has been and will be Mexico.”

So was Lozano referring to the Mexican consulate itself as being Mexican territory, in accordance with the common (though incorrect) idea that a consulate or embassy is foreign territory?

That interpretation wouldn’t make sense even if the consulates-as-foreign-territory idea were true. If it were, Spokesman Lozano would have said “This consulate is Mexican territory”. But he didn’t, he said “This has been and will be Mexico” which sounds exactly like reconquista talk. And it’s certainly not diplomatic.
If this happened in a country whose leaders respected the sovereignty of their nation, this guy would have been expelled. The Consul in San Diego and the Mexican Ambassador in Washington would have been called to account.

Of course, that would be in a country whose leaders respected their nation’s sovereignty, as opposed to ours.

NAU is as I see coming sooner than any one anticipates. With the devaluing dollar, we will have no choice but to turn to a "1" currency and when that goes no where we will go to the Euro.. This will all happen in a matter of 5 years or less. I am not a prophet nor do I prophess to be, but I saw the housing market take a crash 2 years ago and the economy go the way its going when I saw people that earn 6 dollars an hour buy houses for a half a million.

Lets be realistic, its not Pres. Bush. Its the thieves that saw the opportunity to take advantage of the relaxed laws on that industry. The war is not helping.. but have we been attacked?
As far as having the military on the southern border..? ITS THERE!!!!!!!
MCAS Yuma patrols it with the US Army and Marines ... :)

Good day..

Wow.

I cant beleive someone actually thinks the Prez acts on his own.. If you remember.. resolutions were passed, there was a congressional vote.. senate approved... and then we went to war.
If, GW would have received approval, we would be drilling stinkin alaska for our own oil and we wouldnt be relying on the camel jockies for it or the south americans. Oh, but wait, lets not let them build more refineries, the green peace earth worshipping fanatics may get in the way and run over by the machinery because we just may emit more greenhouse gases.. Man, we emit more greenhouse gases from eating lima beans or pintos...

WE all have our opinions as to whats happening.. And to be honest, none of us know, its all opinions.. You may hate the president, or you may love him.. doesnt matter, your opinion is going to be whatever you want it to be. Until you have solid facts that proves your point.. ITS MUTE..

:) have a good day.

Pres. Bush has already signed 2 agreements without the consent of Congress or the American People to initiate the North American Union. The whole underlying purpose of NAFTA is to 'fast-track' the NAU and finish the New World Order his father tried so diligently to create. Read my blog to see a full article.

Perhaps you've forgotten about the patriot act? The only thing keeping us in Iraq at the moment. An overwhelming amount of Americans want out but he veto's congress every time. The fact that you don't believe that he and his administration are behind all of this is due to lack of factual knowledge or failure to acknowledge the facts. This man has been pushing his agenda on money issues whether the American people back him or not.

It's time for all of us to fight the North American Union...if NAFTA keeps advancing, you can bet that we will lose all our constitutional rights, and the moonbats who are pushing for NAFTA are having a field day at this moment. By the way, I don't think very highly of Dennis The Menace Kook-spinner either!

Well like him or not (Kucinich), he's pretty much the only person doing something to realy try and get Bush out of office. You have to at least agree with that I'm sure. Honestly the only thing I think that can save our nation at this point is Mike Gravel's National Initiative for Democracy. Only the people can save this country now.
