I enjoy blogging for a variety of reasons.

I get to get things off my chest, state my opinion, and even learn a thing or two.

Why do you blog?

Al B. Beck

By:  Ketzu Layder

It's the morning.  An explosion of fire has rained down on us from the east horizon.  It's hard to see with the sun in my face.  Works every time.  I hope they miss.  My chest is exploding.  Blood is rushing out of my nose and mouth.  My body is  wanting to be let go.     It's a familiar feeling.  Each time I get hit, the docs fix me up and, like a lunatic, I go back.  I have to stay.  The first time it was just a scrape.  Next time I was hit by mortar fire. Since then I've had four fatal wounds.  The guys are calling me Sergeant Slaughtered.  I'm not as pretty as I used to be.   Each time they brought me back.  Even after an entire week in a freezer.  I've had two new hearts and one of everything else.  Even my brain isn't mine anymore.  It's been rebooted more times than my sidebot.  I've had this one it for three whole months.  I hope he's still here when I get back.  He's my little buddy.    It's time now.  I can tell.  In a way I wish the machines weren't so good at their jobs.  I'm really tired..........

There is a path

It leads to the soul

It may seem very far

but it's hardly a stroll

At  it's end we find comfort

or perhaps misery

We first take the path

then wait and see

You may choose many paths

more than one at one time

4 letters in path

5 letters in rhyme

The message is clear

All paths are not sound

So make your choice wisely

or the path may rebound

The riddle is over

Now you do the math

But never forget

you may choose your own path

Solve this riddle and get a gold star

These letters and numbers have taken us far.

It's not a long journey.

It's really quite terse.

Can you solve the riddle

of the japanese curse?

I opened the dryer this morning to find a huge mass of green lint. I had tossed a thin blanket in with some other items, so I knew where it came from.  I figured the intelligent thing to do would be to empty the lint screen and run the dryer some more.  This way I could get all of the lint off of the blanket.

I came back later to find another mass of green lint!  "One more time", said I, "and that should do it!"

The third time, and yet more lint...... Finally, I decided the blanket would have to come out of the dryer!  So I looked around in there and guess what?  Yup, the blanket was gone, fibers to fibers, lint to lint.  HEEEEERE'S YOUR SIGN!  LOL

Got a funny story where you did something silly?  Share it right here!  We promise not to laugh.... 0 ; ) >

Is life getting you down?

Do you sometimes feel that the world is against you?

Do you feel like you are alone in your problems?

If so, then I urge you to read this blog.

So often, I am reminded of the harsh realities of living.  I hear things that sadden me, stories of murder, mayhem, and terrorism, stories of pain and suffering of the defenceless and the weak.  Often we feel that life is unfair, if not to us, then to so many others.

So I wrote this blues song, to remind me of why I live:

Sometimes it is hard to accept things the way they are.

Sometimes life just isn't right.

Sometimes you feel so low,

and you pray for the night.

And sometimes you feel so all alone

                      No one hears you cry

You wonder why you should go on living

                                when it's easier to die.

And then you remember

that each breath that you take

Is worth living if you can live it.

'till youv'e had all that you can take.

Cause it's not what life is giving you

it's what you give that's at stake.

No....it's not what life is giving you,

It's what you give that's what's at stake.........

Don't give up, Soldier.

Do you think time travel is possible?

If you could send a short message backwards in time, what would you say, and to whom?

MMMMPH! MMMMMPH!!!! HEEEEEEEELP!!!!!

WHEW!............ Hello Fellow Bloggers.

Today, I would like to talk with you about, ummmm pudding. In particular, Bread, Fish, and Cous Cous pudding.

First there was Bread Pudding. It was good, but could only be made by the best cooks in the whole world. Then people made Fish pudding. Fish pudding was something anyone could make, and became very popular. Then someone made Cous Cous pudding. Cous Cous pudding was not the easiest pudding to eat, and like Bread pudding, could only be made with much effort.

Every year, the best cooks in the world compete, to earn the World's Best Pudding Crown. Contestants have been known yell, throw food, and even physically attack each other, as feelings about recipes run strong! All of the chefs assure us it's the best pudding we will ever eat!

Me? I don't like pudding. As a matter of fact, I find it downright yucky, and I especially don't like the chefs!

Do you like pudding?

Which pudding do you prefer?

30 years ago, today, the best movie of all time, Star Wars A New Hope, was released to the world with astounding success.   And I was there....yeah. : )

In honor of Star Wars' 30th birthday, and hopefully with some leniency by fox and Lucasfilm, I would like to present my favorite scene, from my favorite movie, on my favorite blog.

This opening scene is still my favorite.  It's quiet and dark, serene music plays in the background.  In the distance a small dot appears on the horizon.  Then another, larger one, they are moons, orbiting the now appearing planet below, in awe inspiring color and scale.   It's very beautiful.  But, quickly, the music becomes more intense, the tempo quickens, and the whine of a space ship's dozen or so engines floods into the scene, lasers shriek, explosions rip though the noiseless vacuum of space!  Another ship, the size of a mountain, is chasing the now quickly departing, smaller ship, rapid firing laser cannons the size of Semi-trucks.  It's total chaos!!!!

Did you watch Star Wars 30 years ago?  Did you love it, or hate it?  What was your favorite scene?

One of the places I would like to go and visit is the Grand Canyon, in Arizona.

What are some fun things to do at the Grand Canyon?  What is the best time of year to go?  I don't like crowds.  Is there a fence around it yet?  ; (

Have you been there?  Did you go camping?  Did you skin a buck, or run a trot line?

Folks.  I cannot stress enough, that we must be careful about what our children are watching on television, even on channels that we think are kid friendly.

I was baby sitting, Friday, and my wife said, "Come and look at this.  I can't believe this is on Noggin!"   I did, and I couldn't believe my eyes!  There, on the screen, was written "WHUDAFXUP"!  This was written twice, during the commercial from Truth, you know, the non-smoking activist group, well known for their unusual and sometimes offensive ads.

Fortunately, the little one wasn't in the room at the time, and probably would not have read it anyway but, I ask again.  WHUDAFXUP with Noggin?  http://www.whudafxup.com/

Do you let your kids watch Noggin?

What do you think of this type of language on a channel known for children's programming?  What do you think of this kind of language in any television commercial?  Is it okay to use foul language, if it is spelled incorrectly?
