How many of you have read or seen:  "I Robot"?  Basically the story is about computers taking over the world in order to "protect" people from themselves.  The story is coming true, only it's not computers taking over, it's our own government.

Long gone are the days when we could choose what is best for ourselves.  We have prohibition on many substances and the government has already declared war on anyone who violates their edict.  We've been told what we can even eat and drink,  children.

Sure, many of us agree with these communistic laws just because we don't like these substances and we have allowed the government to pick on people who consume them.  Some of us have even fooled ourselves into believing it was the right thing to do.   Well, I hope we're happy, because phase II of our complete subjugation has officially begun.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, the famous actor and governor from Austria, has signed a bill that has outlawed the types of foods that may be sold in restaurants.  No he's not banning crack in your coffee or sprinkles of marijuana on your brownies.  It's much worse than that.  Under the new law, trans fats must be removed from restaurant products beginning in 2010, and from all retail baked goods by 2011.

I'm not going to present the merits or evils of trans fat.  I'm just letting you see what we've started by allowing the government to determine what people can and cannot eat or drink.  Enjoy your fries.  For now.

Politicians are the only ones with the Freedom to choose, not the People.

Trans-fat is a man-made substance, made to be healthier than saturated(animal) fat.
Marketed and "saturating" the food supply, we have only realized how much more harm it does.
They should still make "small batch" products full of shortening, or label them in supermarkets as artisanal. Oreos will never be the same...

I agree with choice, but anything not natural that we put in our bodies will have adverse affects.

Restaurants today....tomorrow it will be in your own kitchen. Grandmothers going to jail for baking cookies with transfats for their grandchildren...and extra penalty for white sugar. This is no joke..where does it end?

It's not only the computers but the people behind them and government politicians. The people are the soldier ants that provide to their needs. Freedom is becoming none existence! Our Constitution is being corrupted. And even though we pay for our properties...we don't really own it, we rent it out from the government.

Glad to see I'm not the only one thats concerned about this. Little by little, bit by bit, we'll have more and more of the things we like to do, on our own time, taken away from us by the state or federal governments, all under the guise that they're doing "what's best for us". Yesterday it was smoking, today its transfats. Tomorrow, it could be something YOU like to do, even if its not considered "good" for you.

People are Stuck on Stupid so it makes the government mandate things. Good things like Seat belts have saved lives. But people are still so dumb that even though Cigarette packs say it Will KILL you they still use them. Wonder if the same warning on bread or milk, people would buy that.

The Government does these things because we have let them. They want US to live in a world of hatred. That way it will be easy for them to have WAR right here in America. War against all of the poor. The rich will move away and the poor will die. If they are going to kill Us anyway, why do we let them do this to US?

They can all kiss the Maine part of my ass!

We are living in the middle of the Worlds greatest SCAM, Government! These people should be hanged, for thier crimes against FREEDOM!

It's hard to vote them out when the voting machines are rigged to their favor. If we could vote out all of the crooks......there would be nobody left.

Wouldn't that be sweet, and affordable.

" I Robot " isn't that the name of an Allen Parson's Project album ? Good post Norty ! It would appear that a good many are either tooo lazy to think or they are comming up a little short on gray matter. The only thing the GOVERMENT shows any intellegense in is the many, varied, and creative ways to tax and steal your money from you. In almost all else, DISMAL FAILURE are the words of the day ! Sigps, Diet Dew is better.

Diet Dr Pepper isn't bad either.

How are ya SL?

I dunno about hanging anyone but I would sure like to see this communist sort of thinking go away. The next time the gov wants to declare war on something it should be outside the USA!
