For good or bad, Alton school district policy is that once kids are in the buildings, they stay all day. The reasoning is that parents may not get word or be able to leave their jobs to make arrangements for child care. The idea is that a child could be left at a bus stop with no way to get into their home and/or no adult present to take care of them. Why there is school today at all is another question!!

No one thinks education is more important than I do, but we have to be practical. I don't want to add days to the end of the school year either, but getting around today is ugly!

TEN DAYS UNTIL PITCHERS & CATCHERS REPORT FOR SPRING TRAINING!! Can real Spring be far behind? These few 60-75 degree days have been like little movie trailers! The snow was nice - here long enough to play in but not long enough to be a REAL nuisance - but bring on Spring! The winter has not been all that bad, I'm ready for SPRING!
