Some things you can't live without....!!

Today has proved to be one of the most educational days I have ever lived..... As most know I have dealt with chest pain and numbness in my arm and neck for some time now.....  Today I went in to have a Cardio  Cath test performed......  It is the test of all tests when it comes to the heart..... It is a scarry procedure but not too bad as far as pain..... It takes a camera through the groin and into the main blood stream inside your heart and closely examines all of the bloodlines.. The only real discomfort is when they shoot the dye inside your heart....It makes your ears very hot...  I am happy to report that I have no blockage and the doctor said that my heart is beating strong..... The fellow that was in the  room before me was not as lucky..... He was taken off the table and sent straight to surgery for open heart surgery..... But God was actually smiling on him today for this saved his life since the ticking time bomb was detected in time..... Then after my procedure  in recovery  I recieved a call that a friend that I had just sat and talked to yesterday while enjoying a glass of wine was found dead this morning in his garden..... I am assuming that he had a heart attack...... Then I started to wonder if this test might have saved his life...... Had he  any symptons that he may have ignored ?.... There are so many walking around that are getting warnings and are in denial...... The heart is something that needs to be checked if there is any doubt...... The life you save will be your own........

Have you had a good checkup lately......??

I still have no clue as to what is going on with the pains that I am having...... But with the suspicion not on the heart it will be pain that is a little easier to live with.......

My Doctor is now wanting me to take a sleep apnea test and is exploring the the possibility of acid reflux.....

Glad to hear your ticker is still working well!
Have to admit, haven't seen a doc for about 3 years-when my employer insurance expired. At the time was on hypertension meds, but no longer. Yes, this is a sort of ticking time bomb, but gamble due to financial situations, which, unfortunately, many people have to face.
Again, happy for your results!

Hey Tommy - good to hear your heart is fine but sounds like the symptoms still exist. It'll be a matter of time and they'll find what is wrong.

I am overly cautious when it comes to aches and pains (see http://community.myfoxstl.com/

Body_Aches_and_Pains) and even though I am told that it's "just me" and to quit being such a wimp, I take them seriously.

It's amazing with the new findings in the medical field and the treatments available - it's just the waiting period that stinks.

Good luck brother Tommy.

Thanks Speedy...... With a little peace of mind I slept well last night...... I heard the last thing you do is sleep with that sleep apnea test......

People I talked to said it's hard with all the wires that they hook up to ya...... Guess I'll just hit the Gym that day and make sure I really tired before I get there

Thats good news Tommy - Hubs been thru the sleep apenea test- they place wires every where - Maybe a full body wax would make it easier to remove the sticky things ;) after what you just went thru this should be a piece of cake-

Well i have to agree, about a week age my body started hurting all my joint in my arms, legs, figers knees really bad. Well my back doctor thought it was from a pinch nerve that i had , but when i went back monday for a check up to see if every thing stayed in place, everything did, so he sent me to have a exam and blood work up. I dont have the results back yet they are testing for everything, but the doctor thinks i have LYME DIEASE. I was bitten by a tick 1 1/2 months ago, and he pulled out his medcial book and i have three of the condition you get from being bite. So its a waiting game know to see if thats it or something else. So ya get regular check ups, and never take any chances.

Prevention scans should be part of a routine health check up and covered by ins. It would save tons of money in health care.
