As many of you know, i raise my 2 nieces because their father passed away and yesterday was the 2 year anniversary date of his death. I took the girls to the park to release some balloons for/to him. It was sooo sad but yet they kept a smile on their faces the whole time!

Aww thanks Goots! I do believe good things come to good people and i also believe just as one may think their life is so bad, to take a look at someone elses! These girls have really been awsome the past 2 yrs with this and i just really dont know how they do it!

I know that their dad saw those balloon. The day of Debra's funeral, we let 39 red balloons and 1 white balloon go right after her funeral at the church. The 39 meant the years of her life, and the 1 white balloon represented her entrance to heaven. Yes, it was sad, but everyone was happy and smiling knowing that she was in a better place.

Awwww I have done that with balloones send a mesage to my pets that have passed away...
It the only way i know to get a message to them beside praying to them...

Thanks everyone for your replies, i really couldnt get this off my mind so thought this was a good way of trying! I thank everyone for your kind words!
We have avoided talking about the situation in the past because i dont want to see them cry and figure they will talk if they need to. So it was really nice to do the balloon release yesterday to kinda break open the ice. In my heart it feels like it was well needed and i think we are all at better peace with the situation. All it seems to take is ONE special moment!

Catfish, i know exactly what you mean, yest it all seemed to come together as if thats when we were saying "goodbye" but in a good way?
