Will someone PLEASE explain to me what the heck a CAUCUS is?

I'm ALMOST as confused as THIS guy!!

Trying to figure out the Democrat party's vote once, then caucus message really makes my head hurt.

HELP!!

I have no idea, but I wanted to be a part of it to see how it worked. I watched the Iowa caucuses and was totally and utterly confused.
