another dead celebrity.  i met merv once in the beverly hilton.  friendly guy, warm handshake, focused attention, sweet fella.  i asked him whether having the contestant on jeopardy phrase the answer in form of a question was a waste of time--there is nothing particularly difficult about identifying the subject to "answer".  i estimated that five additional questions could be placed in each program if the contestant merely gave a response.  i suggested he replace Vanna White on wheel of fortune.  he smiled whent i told him Jillian would be more popular!  Then he asked me which blond haired woman with bangs looks like a Q-Tip?  His answer was "all of them."  Next he said "What are a woman's four favorite animals? A mink in the closet, a Jaguar in the garage, a tiger in the bedroom, and a Jackass to pay for it all !"  I will always remember when i met the other Marv-- a funny guy!

I dig jeopardy. wheel of fortune is boring. The Merv Griffin show was much more entertaining than Talk Show with Spike. I'd like to see Fox Night with Marv and Jillie.

Merv lived a good life and made many accomplishments. My heart goes out to the family, wishing them well.

Mr.Griffin will be missed Ilove his shows ,he was a wonderful person, prayers to the family,remember the GOOD TIMES AND THE GOOD LIFE, AND ALONG LIFE TOO.

I watched The Merv Grifin show all the time . When someone of his popularity passes on it's like losing a friend . He is in a better place . He has left us with many great memories .

Oh how do you even write when my words don't even match up to this mans life wow Merv is Hollywood he is T.V. Was the best!

Thank you Marv, for your recollection. Merv seemed fun in a genuine, harmless, way. I am sure we'll be seeing a lot of clips from his shows in the next few days. I want to see the one of young Jackie Mason that I have heard about but never seen !

Thou I didn't know Merv personally, He always
wore a smile, was pleasant, seemed like a gentleman and was a good friend to our past
President Reagan. I pray for his family during this painful time and hope He is walking the streets of Gold right now.

it's coincidence that Mike Douglas and Merv Griffin die within months of each other. i always thought of their two shows as competing head to head.

I was born on a cold winter morning in 1960. When Palestinians began hijacking airplanes forty years ago I was disappointed by the US leadership in dealing with the barbarian habit. I admire President GW Bush for leading US into Iraq. I feel our military forces will be given authorization to rid the barbarians.
