pasadena-- pit bulls get loose.  attack civilians.  police arrive and use shot gun to kill one dog, injure another.  time has come to euthanize all pit bull canines.  end the problem immediately.  no long discourse needed on this subject.  crisis exists.

a pit bull got loose from a neighboring residence and attacked another's dogs.
"A neighbor beat the pit bull into submission," recalled Police Chief Thomas Doyle.

An ordinance passed by village council on Oct. 2 could help prevent similar incidents. it
bans pit bulls from the village.

The injured dog survived the July attack, and the pit bull owner was cited for allowing a dangerous and vicious dog to run at large.
The pit bull was euthanized.

The new ordinance states "No person shall own, keep or harbor a pit bull dog ... within the municipal limits of the Village of Greenhills, Ohio.''

That means that owners of any pit bulls will have to find a home for them outside the village.

A Supreme Court decision this spring upholding a Toledo ordinance banning pit bulls gave the village the impetus to pass its own, Municipal Manager David Moore said.

The village plans to send copies of the ordinance to all known owners of pit bulls that advise them to "basically get rid of your dog,'' Moore said.

Anyone who violates the pit bull ban ordinance will be guilty of a third-degree misdemeanor for a first offense. The court can also order the pit bull destroyed or permanently removed from the village.

That is just sad. Most of the people with these dogs get them because its a status or they want them to be mean.
Any animal can turn mean if they are mistreated. They either turn mean or their spirit is broken.
There should be stricter laws against animal cruelty.

I was born on a cold winter morning in 1960. When Palestinians began hijacking airplanes forty years ago I was disappointed by the US leadership in dealing with the barbarian habit. I admire President GW Bush for leading US into Iraq. I feel our military forces will be given authorization to rid the barbarians.
