Harsher punishment

Earlier today I was reading another blog about the neglect of a poor poodle. I've heard of other instances where there is severe neglect of animals to the point of the animal's death. I can honestly say that every person that abuses or neglects their animals is a horrible person. If someone can do such things to animals, they deserve harsher punishments, hence my title.

Most of these people are getting a slap on the wrist and a small fine. There is a house 3 streets down from my boyfriends that has dog fights. Why are these people allowed to have animals, why isn't there harsher punishments. These people are sick and they are using the poor animals.

I wish I could save all the animals that are being hurt/used/killed for pleasure, this is truly a sick world.

Does anyone know if there is anything going on in our state that will help protect animals or give the people the punishment that they deserve?

Please let me hear it. I want to help do whatever I can.

Mac, have you or your boyfriend reported the house that has the dog fights?

That would be your way of doing your part.

If you know the exact and precise moment that they are having the dog fights, you should dial 911 and have them come out immediately.

Believe me, they will get what they have coming, especially if caught in the act.

We have before, and they've been caught and yet they still have animals in the backyard. We don't know why these dogs weren't taken away or way they don't get regular checks. We know what these people are doing and they have been fined but it doesn't seem to bother them.

I have been fighting for animal rights for YEARS. You need to contact the SPCA or ASPCA. They have CPS for children and I think in this day and age it is sad they don't have something similar for animals. The SPCA is your best bet for stopping these people. I would do it if I knew where they were. They should adopt laws for animals like they have for children.

Have they been fined by the police or the pound?

Looking into what Bellafisk said, do these people have any kids in the home? A way to get them into trouble would be by calling CPS and them looking into the dog situation.

You can also call CHANNEL 4 NEWS!!!!!!

They might listen to you if you tell them that you have made several reports and it continues to happen.

There is no way that these people should have been allowed to keep anymore animals.

I'm pretty sure that they were fined by the police, and usually what happens is that by the time the cops actually get out there the fighting is done and they can only give certan fines. I would love, Bellafisk, if they had the same kind of laws for animals as they do for children. If we take the responsiblity to take care of these animals we should be punished if we neglect/harm them.

And Luv, I'll deff. look into reporting it to channel 4 if we report them again and nothing is done to save the animals.

I believe bellafisk is totally on the money and if you are afraid to do it, email me the address and I will call the humane society. CALL the SPCA in Dallas or McKinney and do it fast. That is what YOU can do...TODAY and everyday untilthey come out and do something.
