I started working in Earth City in January 1999. Since that time my allergies have gone haywire and my sinuses - I won't even go there! My eyes start to water when I get about a mile onto the Earth City Expessway. I've noticed that there are a lot of other issues as well. In my company alone there are a significant number of employees with sinus issues, heart issues, cancer, etc. I realize that any company of any size will have a certain percentage of illnesses - this just seems excessive. This whole area exists between two large land fills and is literally built on another, I'm starting to think this might be a problem. I know "they" say it's safe but I'm starting to wonder how different their version of safe and mine are. Has anyone else noticed the differences in health issues in and around this area? Yours or others around you? Has there been any kind of study done on the health of people working here?

Our son is a 13 year old middle school student and we live just down the road from where this happened so it has really hit close to home. Our family has been praying for this boy since we heard about his abduction. I had my son watch the news this morning so he could understand why we are so protective. We've always taught our children (we have 3) what they should do if they are approached by a stranger but this just goes to show how quickly something like this can happen. Hopefully, the next time he asks us if he can walk to his friend's house since it's "less than a mile away" he'll understand when we once again say No.

Does anyone know yet if they are looking for volunteers for a search? We would like to help this family in their search for their son.
