Chaos, panic, and disorder- my work here is done.

I noticed this morning and at lunch time that the worse the weather got today, the more idiotic the drivers become on LBJ. I saw people cutting each other off, nearly taking off front bumpers. I saw people people speed right past me, going OVER the speed limit even, while they turned around and looked at me like I was retarded or something. Not the case, I'm just a normal Texan trying to not get my cute butt killed by these road conditions! I'm sorry people, but i could not believe how careless ya'll can be on the road. What is the hurry? I even almost got rear ended by a pickup who sped up behind me and barely missed clipping my back bumper while speeding over to the next lane!! I was not even going that slow!! Right below the speed limit at slowest!! I'm not afraid of the icy weather, I'm afraid of the idiots driving in it! SLOW DOWN PEOPLE! Your jobs, stores, appointments, etc. will still be there when you arrive. Well, unless of course you get yourself KILLED!!!! Have a lovely evening and stay warm! :)

I left 40 minutes early to take what is normally an 8 minute drive...

I keep a good book in the car for occasions like these. :)

Wonderful advice indeed! Sorry you had to get out in the lousy weather and I hope you were able to avoid the late afternoon icing that occurred along LBJ at I-35E. What a mess!

I experienced the same thing this morning. I think some drivers need to go back to school & learn that water freezes at 32 degrees. If the temp is that or below & you see a "wet spot" in the road, assume it is ice & slow down, don't slam on your brakes, & put plenty of room between you & other drivers. Do this & then if you should have an accident, it'll be only a fender bender, not a horrible, possibly fatal wreck.

June, I'm sorry but that comment contains just too much common sense. These people are in a hurry; don't you understand?

Besides, this is the way they normally drive -- Careless & Negligent. The highway is there's so get out of their way!

I whole-heartedly agree. People will never learn. They just don't care. 364 days out of the year they drive unlawfully and dangerously ... what makes you think 1 icy day will change their habits? Never ceases to amaze me. You'd also think 18-wheelers would think ahead and use surface streets ... instead of the high 5 or other bridges. It would only minorly inconvenience them to take alternative routes. But instead, they get stuck on the overpasses and get into an wreck and/or block the bridge. Geez.

Good Morning,

You know, it's really funny on these blogs I read day in and day out. It appears that all us bloggers are perfect at everything we do.

Wake up people...You all are not without flaw. I get so sick and tired of all these "goody two shoe" posts on here like you all walk around with a halo over your head and walk on water.

You all are no better than anyone else.

Think about it...Think about your posts...Then think again...

I will be the first to say that I drive like everyone else in this city. It's Darwin out there.

That's my take...Hope it didnt suck...

Stay Hard!!!

Its not that we're perfect. Believe me, as a native Kansan driving on Texas highways, I'm far from being the perfect driver. I just notice that it seems a lot of people just don't care about their safety or any one else's. Its a difference between being a bit ignorant, lost, paranoid, etc and being just a complete arrogant jerk on the road. The jerks are the ones that git my goat!!

Might i add that i even witnessed a guy on LBJ this morning in a really nice sports car (Porshe maybe) who literally ran a pickup out of his lane and onto the shoulder just so he could get around the slow traffic. I watched him drive like this for about 5 minutes, waiting for him to get into a wreck and cause ME to be late for work. I'm after THOSE guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a 31 year old woman who lives and works in North Dallas, Texas. I am originally from South Eastern Kansas but was brought here as a child. I like going out to karaoke bars and letting loose with a few drinks and a fun song or two. I also enjoy getting out with some friends and trying out new things. Otherwise you may find me strolling through the malls and getting my shopping done! I am married to the most wonderful man in the world. He is not only an incredible husband, but my best friend as well!! In case you can't tell, I'm a big fan of cats! I have 2 of them, Mel and Larz. Also I have become a new mom to a mini-dachsund named Rudy!
