How do you support us when you do not support our mission? I've got fellow service members missing limbs in Walter Reed who look out their window and see "God Bless IED" signs. I've got 18 and 19 year old kids that I have to take to Iraq soon and they look at the country and wonder if I'm the only one who's looking out for them. I've got a congress that will not hesitate to take credit for the fact that we caught Saddam Hussien, however 8 months down the road they're saying it's all President Bush's fault that we're embroiled in this war.
I've got an enemy that is foaming at the mouth because they know that our country is so divided and the government can't even come to a simple agreement to keep funding us so we can't have the things we need to get the job done. I've got a congress that is not afraid to lose our battles on a strategic level that my Marines and fellow service members have spilled so much blood to win on the tactical level. I've got a country more concerned about turning the Military into a social experiment than allowing it to deal with it's matters internally and maintain itself as the War Machine it needs to be for your own good.
Those are the things I have going against me.
Do you know what I got going for me?
I've got the hope that you will let us finish what we started and not retreat so that the Fathers and Sons and Mothers and Daughters of America are not lost to the pages of history. That's it. A hope. I have no Nation behind me. I have a Nation distancing itself from what we are doing and therefore distancing itself from my Marines and fellow servicemembers. That's what I have.

The point isnt that we support or dont support our troops... I whole heartedly support our troops..They dont have a choice in the matter they have to go where they are told... and have to do what they are told..and they are making do with what they have..Its not their fault at all... Its this administrations fault that they have blundered at every turn in this war.. and also have lied to Congress as well as the American Public at every turn... So finish what you ahve started.. why so that we can have over 10000 dead or is that not enough for you? Maybe 50000 or maybe 100000 dead... Look the Sunnis and Shittes have been fighting each other for thousands of years... What makes anyone think that by us being there that we can stop what thousands of years havent been able to stop.. Its not our civil war... even though we helped cause it... but anyhow..Why should we be involved in in fighting? Why must we rachet up the body count? Again I support our men and women in service... but they are nothing more than lambs led to the slaughter by the Bush Administration

If you think this is about helping quell a civil war in Iraq.... your wrong. Us being there pulls the terrorist that so desperately want to kill Americans to Iraq instead of Orlando, Florida. If I got to put my life on the line to keep yours safe, I'll gladly do that. It's taken +5 years for them to kill 3000 of us. Suppose we weren't tying them up in Iraq. They'd be alot more inclined to come to America and kill 3000 in a single day. You need to understand that us leaving is not going to make them put down their weapons.
We do have a choice. We signed up. That was our choice.

Do you think that by you being there that it stops the terrorists from coming here.. YOu are so wrong.. Look at the most recent news at what almost happened to Ft Dix. If we had more military stationed at our borders than maybe just maybe we wouldnt be so vulnerable here.. Our borders are wide open... Anyone can enter at their own leisure with No one to stop them... So Im saying if you so want to save the American Public..COME BACK !!! and secure our borders!!! nOT FIGHT 3000 MILES AWAY WITH no END IN SIGHT

Ya know what else is funny. Drunk Drivers kill more people per year in our country than we lose service members in Iraq. I don't see you campaigning for that to be remedied.(sp?)
Also, the point of that post was that the country is not supporting the troops. That is the point I am bringing forth.

What happened at ft dix? A bunch of amatuers got caught trying to stage a kinetic attack on sovereign american soil. Thank god they weren't the guys that we tango with in the sand box. Thank god we keep them tied up over there. I only spent a year and 4 months fightin them. I'm pretty sure I understand them a tad better than you might think.

Its not that we dont support you ..We do the point is that the American public is so frustrated with the war... We have been lied to in every turn ..we dont know what is truth anymore... We have fallen into such a budget deficeit that we will never be able to pay this off.. So its not that we dont support you .>WE DO!!! We just want a end somewhere in the future..

The United States Military's jurisdiction does not fall within the borders of our nation. That's what the FBI, CIA, DEA, ATF, Police, Homeland Security, etc. are for.

And what about the thought about coming home and securing our borders? Is that too much too ask? Wouldnt you be much happier coming back to the US and protecting what needs to be protected..Instead of being 3000 miles away in some sand trap?

Obviously all those agencies cannot secure our borders.. Then we must have the military involved to protect our nation

Then let us keep the threat fixed half way across the world so that that future isn't permeated by suicide bombers and mass executions on our own soil.
That's what we do! Find them, Fix them, Kill them. It doesn't work when you yank back on the damn leash.

No because then I KNOW that the people we're fighting in Iraq will follow and I'm sorry I like keeping them 7000 miles away from my little sister and my mother.
When was the last time that we were attacked since 9-11? They seem to have proven themselves pretty damn capable to be my friend.

We have given over 4 years for the plan to work ..your plan of Find them, Fix them, Kill them.. isnt working... Thwere is more violence and more killing than ever before... Yesterday I heard on CBS that Baghdad has gone for over 19 hrs a day without electricity... If this is working than how can a city go for so long without electricity on a daily basis

It's such a simple task to rebuild a nation isn't it. It's gonna take a while. It took god 7 days to build the earth. We're only human, cut us some slack.

txhank is an appeaser and leftwing nut job. His comments are routinely in line with the Democrat propaganda, which is not factual. Of course, the crap he spews is nonsensical and txhank doesn't take the time to check out the things his party is saying but rather vomits what his leaders say and moreover BELIEVES it.

Delete me, leonila, I don't care. Just remember, you're not the ONLY soldier out there. I won't tolerate an appeaser. I lost far too many buddies and absolutely refuse to allow anyone to dishonor their blood. You tolerate it, I won't.

Scotty, did you truly gleen from this young man's post that he tolerates appeasers. He is simply asking you to keep it on an adult level, knowing him the way I do, I can tell you he has no tolerance for childish insults either. He is a young man truly concerned about the future of his country and is doing more about it than most people I know. Kindly find it in your heart to have a care. And it is Leonidas not leonila.

most people who result to name-calling and insults aren't secure enough in their opinion, i have come to find...

with that said, i support the troops. i can't help but, i have my good friends and a member of my family fighting over there. but it's sorta like (and i hate describing it in such a way like this) your son or daughter. you love them and support them and will be there for them through whatever they go through, but you don't have to like their choice of occupation, their choice of a life partner..their political stance...so on so forth
