Why does it take so much money for anyone running for PRESIDENT or any other office in order to get votes?
Shouldn't we want to vote for someone who can raise the money like the candidates do who is willing to give the money earned in their campaignes which is in the 100's of millions to help with the crisis' which are occuring NOW in our BEAUTIFUL UNITED STATES instead of paying out the money for stupid election buttons and banners and all the other needless paraphenalia used for an election that should be about the person we are voting for and not how much he/she can riase to keep in the race?
Voting is not anout the actual person anymore it is about who has the most people to back him/her with $$$$$ and how much you can raise for the campaigne.
Does this money put the candidates up in posh living quarters and lavish them with expensive meals and expensive wardrobes?
we all see those commercials that say ti only takes $1.00 or less to feed the children and we see the devistation done around the world and still there is only one thing important to those who want to lead us out of poverty and to give us affordable insurance and work but they still can't stop needlessly spending the BIG BUCKS on frivolous things such as MILLION DOLLAR $$$$$ campaignes.
Is this a case of our leaders letting others over charge them and how blinded our govrnment is to allow people and big company's to over charge them with our money?
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?

Every election that passes, a new higher standard of money is set in order to run a successful presidential campaign. The leading candidates of both the Republican and Democratic party's have been controlled by corporate money for many years now. One thing you can take for sure is that as the money standard rises, so does the corruption. They try to make you think the money is coming from people like you and I, not so. Follow the money, it'll show you who's truly in control.

Our system is corrupt, its broken, and its been that way for way too long. Americans need to wake up in larger numbers before its too late. This election has given me hope thus far. Not the leading candidates, but the support behind the lesser known, 3rd party candidates. Yet, people still keep voting for what is fed to them. Nothing will change unless we wake up and change.

I must say, the low vote count during the last election this week saddens me. Just when I think there might be more hope than I thought, people turn around and show the world that if the elections aren't all over TV and built up in hype, no one gives a damn.

Make no mistake about it, revolution will come. It just depends on if people make it a non violent political act or if too much time goes by and we take to the streets to take our country back. Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves right now seeing the travesty...

No one cares as you say... any new revolution in your line of reasoning will only be quelled and hardly even make the news if at all. The next revolution in this country is already underway. A showing the world that we can and will elect a black man as president. The rhetoric of freedom will flow in the land of milk and honey and for awhile American will revel in the glorius light of racial tolerance. Supposedly racist along with actual racist religious institutions will pay a heavy price... and freedom of speech will become a thing of the past.

No... the next revolution in this country will be that of a humanistic enlightenment that supports pro choice and subjugates life to the boundless freedoms of human desires.

It has become so expensive to run for president so most people could never do it. The elitist have made it that way.

Statueman,

You mean like a free-for-all kind of orgy? And decent people will be made to watch, participate, or approve of such mayhem???
