Flooding...in Iowa

Wow....I thought it was bad in Mo....I came to visit friends in Iowa....the flooding had been really bad up here. Some areas are totally devastated and closed down. At one point my friends and their area were completely blocked in by the floods and they could not get in or out! Now their homes were ok....but the roads were all flooded. Downtown was a mess....they are cleaning up now....

And I dont mean it isnt that bad in Mo. I know it is....You just dont think (or at least I dont always) about the other places unless you are there....

Anyone else gone and seen the flooding other places?

Did you know a waste sewage plant was flooded in Iowa, all of waste has passed through Missouri flood waters. They say the farmers' fields could be contaminated. Crops grown in the flooded fields could contain ecoli.

Iowa did get hit hard with flood waters. The devastation of the floods may be with us for awhile.

Hey Lady!

I went to Nebraska a couple weeks ago and we went into Iowa for the night. I saw several farmers fields that were flooded off the highway, but nothing like what we have here. I guess I didn't get far enough into the state to see the major damage.

I was at Carlyle Lake last last weekend and the water is still really high! Had a great time though, wish you were there!

Have fun in Iowa! Get home!

Been flooded once in my life..... I will always live on a hill till I die....

yeah mr wild....me too! There are businesses that will not be opening back up...whole sections of town that are just closed up....

and on this one street....its bad until you hit the light and then its ok...weird....

they still have bridges and some roads that are out of commission....

flaglady....I did not know that...I was just asking my friend about it and she said...yeah west of where we are (coralville) and all down from there...sad..

Jana...I plan on coming home as long as the flash floods dont stop me! We just had another down pour and we had to drive thru some flooded streets!

Never been flooded as I to live on a hill in an area that is already one of the highest places in Missouri. I did do a lot of sand bagging in the 1993 flood and watched people grieve for the property loss.

I am someone who loves the Lord...who loves my family, and who loves my friends. I love warm days and sunshine....I love oceans and beaches....I love spending time watching my boys have fun....I love watching my Daughter become a beautiful adult and friend... I love spending time with my best friend and soul mate. I love friends...and I have some REALLY good friends! I have some friends that I have had for 15 yrs and some I have had less than a year!
