You GOT caught....now what do you do?

LOL....curious? I was reading in the post how some are NOT paying the fines or the tickets they are getting when they run the red lights at intersections........

NO....not the ones they get from the nice policeman that so kindly pulled you over....but from those new camera's they have put up!

Apparently , presently they arent or may not stand up in court....so many lawyers are telling their clients...just throw them in the trash!

Apparently SOME of the camera's only take a pic. of the license plate which then doesnt prove YOU are the one who was driving.....and the camera's that do ? Folks are covering their faces as they drive thru the light!

So.....what would you do? (or maybe for some of you who have been caught.....what have you done...) with that ticket?

Will they put out a warrant on your plates.... If so and you are pulled over for something you might be arrested.... Or could they impound your car..... Lots of questions....

I would know what I would do till I got the ticket. Get a lawyer/payit ?? States and county's put these new law's and lawyer's get richer.

How some adults can so immature as to cover their faces in order to run a red light is beyond me.

And it shows intent to run the red light. The planning and the preparation it takes to be able to have, find and then hold up the paper would all take longer than the few seconds it takes to run a red light. Clearly they plan on it which puts mine and your and your children's lives in danger.

These people are leaches to society.

If you do the crime....
You know darn good and well if you ran the red light. I don't like the cameras all that much, but, if I was caught by one I would pay the fine. But guess what? I will not be caught by one because I KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!!!

Mr W...no they will not put out a warrant for your arrest (b/c they dont feel they can...at least not right now) ...they are basically sending out a second letter and saying please pay...but no consequences. They arent impounding the cars (there is one area somewhere where they can go after the cars b/c of something they wrote ON the tickets)....

BUT basically those that have thrown them away have gotten away with it...

I would never be able to do that...I would pay the ticket myself ...but I am with you mechany, dont run the light and there is not an issue....

I have to agree with you on that one theshan...

If they are covering up their faces they are intentionally breaking the law. But then those are the people who are going to throw their ticket in the trash can as well....

If you cover your face you are ON PURPOSE breaking the law just to be a smart ass. You deserve a ticket just for being a jerk.

Unless your car was just stolen you know exactly who was driving it. Its your vehicle and if your family or friends cant follow the rules then stop loaning them your cars.

The whole "but I'll get hit if I stop to fast" is a stupid cop out and a stupid excuse for blasting through a red light. If you dont know when its safe to stop or keep doing then you should not be driving, its basic driving skills 101. Go back to school or get off the road.

If you hit someones else because you were too busy hiding your face or looking for a camera YOU ARE TO BLAME not the camera, not the police, not the city, not the moon or the sun BUT YOU!!!

Take some responsibilty for your actions, be an ADULT, pay you fines and stop acting like a spoiled little child.

And just so you know my grandmother was side swiped by a jerk this weekend who was RUNNING A RED LIGHT!!! My grandmother light was GREEN.

He said he had to keep going so he wouldnt get hit from behind. He never once said he was sorry or anything, just gave excuses why he blasted threw a red right at 50 MPH!!!!

STOP SPEEDING like an idiot and maybe you wont find it so difficult to stop when that right turns yellow.

We have 3 witnesses but a picture says a thousand words. The camera photos will be used as evidence when he is brought to trial for his actions... THANK YOU CITY OF HAZELWOOD FOR PUTTING THOSE CAMERAS UP!!!

It was Lindberg, dont know the crossroad thou. I think in front of Commerce Bank. Thou thats Florissant not Hazelwood. I didnt ask really.

The car behind him stopped. He is one of our witness!!! He had been behind the guy for a while and will testify that he accelerated right when he saw the light turned yellow.

No serious injuries. She is in good physical shape to start with for her age of 61. Does speed walking and swimming.
That I'm sure helped.

Shes just pretty sore. A nasty bump on her head from the rearview mirror is the worst of it.

She is more scared than ever thou and thinks maybe she doesnt want to drive anymore.

No common courtesy for your fellow man she says.

I am glad she is ok! I am glad the guy behind him cared enough to get involved!

61 is young...too young to stop driving. Sounds like she is not the problem. I hate lindbergh...I live in st charles...but for me driving lindbergh or manchester are my 2 worst nightmares! lol....

Here is my stance on Red light Camera`s, or any other tool that law enforcement feels that it needs to enforce the Laws .It should only be use has one part of the evidence ,not the central case.For instance if I was arguing the Case,first we would have to know the perception of distance,reaction distance,braking distance and did the yellow light take that in to account. What was the legal speed limit, also, what has been the rate of failure of Red Light Cameras and what type of failures ..See I want the arresting officer and witness in court . a photo is not enought .Second has the hiway dept,done every thing to prevent the running of the light in the first place, since they have a problem, is it traffic flow,yellow lights not stay on long enought to clear traffic ..Whats the problem. whatever it is handing out tickets treats the symptom not the cause ..

Hey Kelly - what's up? I don't worry about the red light cameras. I don't run the lights and if I would have no front plate and my back license plate has both the "glare" shield and also the spray (it's on windshield also).

As for speeding (July 2002), if I get busted (last ticket was in your county for $208) I pay the fine. I wish they would take credit cards!

Hi speedy...that is why you have your name! Why do you have the special plate covering and the spray if you dont run red lights? LOL...

just kidding ....I know you dont want big brother to be able to see you at anytime or anywhere.... just teasing you....sort of...lol

You are still rsponsible for your vehicle, regardless of who drives it.If your son or friend drives it they need to pay the owner,until then the owner is liable.I don't know how many times I was almost hit by some gerk running red lights.

I don't like the read light cams because it causes law enforcement to become too lenient on that particular intersection. I would hope that they focus on crime also.

I think they are focusing on the crime and the light cams do seem to be making more people more cautious and less likely to just run them!

I am someone who loves the Lord...who loves my family, and who loves my friends. I love warm days and sunshine....I love oceans and beaches....I love spending time watching my boys have fun....I love watching my Daughter become a beautiful adult and friend...
