Friends....what do you look for?

OK...yes I am in a blogging frenzy today! lol.....

What do you all look for in a friend? I look for someone with similar likes....or at least something in common that we can do together, like doing together or can talk about.

Some of us have multiple friends....one for playing volleyball with....one(s) that I go to church with....ones I blog with.....ones I like to really talk to, share secrets with....someone who can help me when I am hurt, or frustrated or angry or share in my happiness..... someone(S) I like to play cards with.....

And some of us have one or 2 very close friends....and dont feel the need to have more.

Nothing wrong with either style....just wondering about you? Thanks for sharing!

I look for loyalty in a friend .I look for a friend i can tell my deepest Darkest secrets .. I look for a friend that will hold me when i am sad laugh with me when i am Happy ,, Cry with me when i am hurt .. I have a few friends that would fight for me till their last breath .. i dont have alot of friends but the ones i do have are very dear to me and i will always cherish every moment i have with them not knowing when will be our last ... I am making alot of new friends ... and kelly you are one that will be one of the best .. You are a an awesome person with a good heart and an awesome spirit..

and you know that is such a good point...you really never know when it might be the last time you see someone. I had a friend, very close friend killed in Tx...and I so wish I had given him an extra hug before he left to go there...and tell him just how special he is and loved by many incl. me. That is the sort of thing you just so regret when that someone is taken away from you....great comment Danny.

Thanks Kelly im just speaking what comes to my heart ,, I dont always get along with my friends and we have our little spats but we never let the sunset on anger ... we always work it out ..

I look for caring loving hearts and honesty..I use to not trust anyone over 12,but that has changed in the last 8 years...

But if someone does not care about others or animals I not want to be friends with em..
If someone not have a heart why bother being friends they wil never be true friends..

So I look for if they have a heart and are caring,to me that is a good friend...

When I meet someone I can usually tell right away if we are going to hit it off or not. Sometimes I meet someone and feel like I have known them forever, that is always a good sign to me of a long lasting relationship.
Being able to share your feelings with someone and talk through any situation. Good or Bad.

Being able to trust someone with all your heart is essential in any relationship. Never worrying if someone is out to use you or hurt you in anyway. Having a great friend is the best gift of all. I know God has given me some pretty amazing gifts lately and I'm very grateful! You know who you are!!

Kelly you are a gem girl, and I can't wait till we hang out next. Thanks for the blog, I've been thinking about just this topic a lot lately.

Typically to me a friend is someone who is always there. Not someone that is there for you at THERE convenience. Someone that you can talk to and love, and feel that back.

God has a plan for all of us, and certain people come into our lives for a reason.

Freindship to me is not about quantity, but about quality!

What I look for in a friend?

Definitely someone who is HONEST. Someone that would always be there for you without an agenda, no questions asked. Someone who won't play games with your friendship. I look for people that a "true" to themselves and to others. I don't like the ones that they make you feel you have to be someone you are not, or they try to be someone they are not. I definitely agree with you there that you don't need that many "close" friends.... I like the saying "QUALITY" not "QUANTITY"....

I am not sure there is a wrong or a right here. What is good for one is not always good for another...that is what makes the world go round right?
I have a few really good friends who I trust and who I can really talk to about anything. Then I have those friends who I just like and I like to hang out with and do thins with... and sometimes some of those friends grow into a deeper relationship. Then I have friends that tho I do consider them friends and I definately care for them and would do anything for them....we arent as close and probably dont spend as much time together....
But for me....I do like lots of friends but I do agree that you usually dont have that many really close friends...intimate friends.
But I am very social and love lots of people. I just love people...I love being with them, talking with them, helping them and yes being friends with them..
I always believe in honesty...I dont lie and I dont like being lied to. And I dont think you should ever be someone you are not...if someone makes you feel you need to be something other than you are , then you dont need that friendship. Some people are just not good mixes together....like oil and water. I know I have met a few that are like that with me...and I am NOT saying it is their fault, it is just as much mine... I have lots of "friends" if thats what you want to call it..... I have the party buddy, the gym buddy, the football buddy, etc..... However when it comes to friends... I look for the deeper thing. There are alot of accquaintances I have. I do have alot that I consider to be friends and then there are the few that I consider to be my closest friends. And my closest friends to me is quality not quantity....

I agree with Jana, i think right away you know if your gonna "click" or not. I have my really close friends, and then just "my friends". I know that the best friends i have, no one could ever replace.

Kelly, I have many friends. I have friends I shoe shop with, friends I work with, friends I like to dance with, friends I go to church with, and friends who have kids my kid's ages. But very few of them probably see the real me...you know? It's nice when I can be with someone who I can let my hair down with, and I know the support and love is there no matter what. That is a good feeling to have those kinds of friends, but the shoe-shopping friends are fun too!

I am someone who loves the Lord...who loves my family, and who loves my friends. I love warm days and sunshine....I love oceans and beaches....I love spending time watching my boys have fun....I love watching my Daughter become a beautiful adult and friend... I love spending time with my best friend and soul mate. I love friends...and I have some REALLY good friends! I have some friends that I have had for 15 yrs and some I have had less than a year! But I love them all just the same and love spending time with them. I will be there for you my friends...just ask! HUGS to you all! Thanks fox2 for this community and for this avenue of communication! It's fun as well as many other things!...thanks!
