Another great race weekend. It's a night race too. So we can get our yard work done, and still see the race. Can't get much better than that! Gordon's on the pole again. This guy sure has some luck!  :( But my race day should be more enjoyable this time. Krash Kahne is in the 10th spot. GOOOOOOOOOO Kasey Kahne. Give me something to watch!!!!!!!!!! As usual good luck to all.

GO TONY STEWART (20)!!
GO Kasey Kahne (9)!!!

TONY is my man, but KASEY is sooo good looking I'd love to see him win any time too, he's a pretty good driver!!

This Saturday night will not be a boring one, that is for sure. We have a 65" TV that seems to drawl a crowd for any event in our small country town. I guess I better get cooking, I can hear hungry people coming down the sidewalks now!lol!

I didn't see that one yet, but I will be looking out for it now.
My husband so doesn't get this nascar stuff he just laughs and rolls his eyes at me when it's race time.

My husband and I started watching Nascar I think in 2000. I'm not sure why we did but now we're hooked. That and football. Nikki: My husband calls Kasey Kahne a girly boy! He accuses him of wearing eye makeup! Me personally would rather look at the girly boy then Jeff Gordon any day!

PS Isn't it funny how small a lot of these drivers are? Jeff Gordon is only 5'7" and Kasey Kahne is 5'8". Too small for me. I have a 6' minimum in the man dept!

Not that I'm into NASCAR, but I've always had a "thing" for short guys! My husband is only 5'6'! The good thing about short guys is, since a lot of women don't go for them, there's more of them for us that like "vertically-challenged" men! And since I'm only 5'2', we fit together nicely for dancing, conversations, etc.!

LOL! klh1886, I just got the chance to read your blog. I personally think Jeff is pretty hot too, you're gonna laugh at this, I have a huge 5'X7' life like knit blanket on my wall in my computer room (which is done all in NASCAR) of Jeff Gordon. I do think Kasey is very handsome. He has those dark "come hither" eyes, and sexy dark lashes, which is probably why your husband says he has eyeliner on. lol!

I just think men can't stand it when there "rough and tough" race car drivers make their women melt!LOL!

PS) I love the action that went on between Jeff and Tony! Kinda reminded me of the old days of racing when the "Great" Dale Sr. was still with us! I can't stand the "Oh, be careful not to mess up my car!" crap that goes on these days. Dale Sr. was out to win the race and if you got into his way, he would make sure he moved, or he would move you! Now that was racing!

That is very true. They are a little whiney now. I saw a movie last weekend about Dale Sr. He was definately out to win. He didn't care who got in his way. I had no idea that him and D.W were enemies. I find that so hard to believe. He always seems like such likable guy. The thing that bugs me about Jeff Gordon is he's such a whiner too. He'll play crash car derby against someone but be totally gets pi??ed if someone does it back to him. You can't have your cake and eat it to!

LOL! You are right about that, you are! I guess that is why I like him though. I little drama here and there is exciting when cars are racing in 500 circles at speeds sometimes in excess of 200mph. LOL!

Have you had a chance to go to a race yet? I would highly suggest Bristol if you actually want to see the whole race. You are looking right down on top of the cars the whole time. Absolutely amazing.

Michigan is much easier to get to and a lot less hassle. But it's a huge track! If you are into hanging out with other fans and having fun while the race is going on the infield is the place to be. If not, they do have decent seats, but it's still hard to see everything on the track since it's so large!

Either way it will change your appreciation for the sport to see them travel at speeds that high in front of you. If you have been there you know exactly what I am talking about.

A trip to Michigan is fairly inexpensive and you can drive right home after the race. Bristol is a little more costly but not as bad as people say it is. I would suggest sticking around for a night or two though after that race. The traffic is horrendous coming back home to Ohio for two days after!

Yes we have. We went to Poconos and MIS. We're going to Michigan again this summer. We were going to go to Talladega but the only Hotel we could get was in Georgia! No thanks. I like going to Michigan because we can also go to Detroit to te Casino. The cost of a race has certainly went up since we started going. Every race we checked into it would cost over $2000.00! That was for us to drive even. I love Nascar but I can find better use for 2 grand!

Really!! I think that we payed, $126.00 the day of the race in Bristol. They say you can't buy tickets, that they are always sold out. Not true, once you get there you can purchase them from licensed vendors along the roadways. You only pay face value for the tickets, that is the only way they can legally resell them. You might pay a fee of $10 each for processing, that is how they get away with making more money. We just shopped around for the lowest processing price. Ranged from $40-$10 in Bristol, TN. We payed around $170.00 for our room, which they also said were sold out when calling hotels, we just drove until we found one, (you know the "rinky dink" hotels that are not listed on the internet and stuff). We no way spent over $600 on the trip! We are cheapo's!lol!

At Michigan, we got in the infield for $40 a piece last time. When we sat in the stands, you won't believe this, we have friends that already have seats so we walked the gates and finally just walked right through a gate where no one was standing and then walked right up to the grand stands and went right through a line (I think they were suppose to check for your seats at this point, but NO ONE was paying attention) and went right up to where our friends were sitting. We walked in and out of the grand stands numerous times with out being questioned once! So, that time we only spent gas money to get there and home! LOL!

I would love to go to Talladega, that would be so awesome! A friend of mine has tickets every year for that race and invites us all the time but it is a little nerve wreckin

When we go to a race we go for three days. We get there Friday. Go to the Busch race Sat. and the cup race Sun, and come home Mon. It's not worth the long drive for one day to me. We also love the Busch races too. We also have to go to the pits. For us it's like a mini vacation. What aggravates me is when we went to Poconos we even flew. We had three nights hotel, and pit passes and $500.00 seats! Our bill was $2000.00. Now you have to drive. Gas would be a couple hundred dollars at least. The ticket prices are ok but if you don't get the tickets with the food then the prices for that is outrageous. I'm sure we could do things cheaper but I don't like the aggravation. It just seems that you get less for more now.

Wow, that explains it completely! I don't get into the Busch races all that much. But what you explained sure does sound like fun!

If you and your husband are passionate about racing it is worth every penny! Isn't it wonderful when you are there!? The excitement is unexplainable for me. It's almost like I get an adrenaline rush watching the cars speed by SO fast. watching on TV gives it no justice, you just can't perceive how fast they are going till you witness it yourself!

yes it is great. We always have a great time. If you go to the pits during qualifying then you can get the autographs. It is so loud there during the race. I have to wear ear plugs or it hurts. If anyone cares about racing at all it certainly would be worth it to go at least once. There really isn't anything like it!

I am married to a wonderful man for 10 years. Between the two of us we have five children. Ages 18 thru 26. I enjoy gardening, yard work and taking care of my grandson. My most favorite activity when I have time is to sit by our little pond with my coffee watching our fish.
