Well I have to say I have never heard of anything so disrespectful in my life!!!!!!!! How dare a CHURCH protest a soldier's funeral. Those members aught to be ashamed of themselves. Here's a wonderfully embarrasing bit of freedom of speech. Just because you can and have the right to doesn't mean you should. No sense what so ever! I am extremely disturbed over this. Gee what a lack of respect for the dead and the family members. Shame shame on these people.

They are saying that the Soldiers deaths are God's punishment for homosexuals! What!!!! How are these two things even remotely related?? Give me a break! Yet another group twisting the Bible to give them something to do!

And this goes back to busdriverman's inquiry on why people don't attend church and my reason/response to him.... because the churches anymore are so full of hippocrites, it isn't funny.

If my hubby were killed while serving our country and a church group showed up to protest, I'd have to say that I'd get a bit violent with those disrespectful people. When I heard about this, I was totally beside myself. What the hell is wrong with people today?

Because so many people are "homophobic". I have yet to be able to understand why people hate gays so much! Just mind your own business and live your life the way you want and let gays live their life the way they want!! Go out and volunteer for a worthy organization or donate money to a charity or start excercising, or do SOMETHING else with your life to keep busy and keep your nose out of other peoples business!! And to clevebtch - all churches have hypocrites as do all businesses, families, friends etc. , etc. We all have hypocrites in our daily lives - the only way to avoid them is to become a hermit and live in a cave.

These people are terrible. I am so sure that they live their lives without sin. There was no reason for this.

clevebtch you are right. Maybe busdriverman needs to look into situations like this and add them to his list. I can stay at home and believe in what I want instead of having to go to church and deal with people like this.

How horrible! A solider deserves to have a funeral with respect! Not have zealots protest his/her funeral

That church group is a bunch of looney, mind controlled people. Have you seen the guy running the church? He's a nut case if I ever saw one.

I missed this story. I am guessing that a soldier died and he was gay and the church would not give him a proper service? What a shame.

There are fanatics in every walk of life - religion, politics, corporations, etc. Always has been - always will be! We can only hope the rest of us who are "sane" evens out the playing field!

Sounds more like some kind of sick cult to me.

These "sickos" have been protesting against gays since before I went to Ohio University in the mid- to late-90's. They confronted me, one time, as I passed the University Gate, and I challenged them--they had nothing to say because I was prepared to whoop *ss. Nevertheless, they are homophobes, who seem to feel that by attacking dead soldiers, they might further their agenda. They are fringe religious zealots, who care to do nothing more than make people hate gays. Gays didn't start this war. Gays would like to serve this war, but there are those who would rather not allow them to serve. Gays are people, too; and in Europe, you do not find this kind of behavior. This war is not about gays, it's about stupidity--plain and simple. Let's be done with it already. Let's get rid of this hypocritical church!

I am married to a wonderful man for 10 years. Between the two of us we have five children. Ages 18 thru 26. I enjoy gardening, yard work and taking care of my grandson. My most favorite activity when I have time is to sit by our little pond with my coffee watching our fish.
