KENSWIFES DAILY GRIND COFFEE HOUSE

Have you noticed how KIND everyone seems to be now??  Even while waiting in line EVERYWHERE-people are actually talking to one another---total strangers at that.  The spirit in the air is almost like Christmas.  We have gotten out and got to know our "new" neighbors etc.  How 'bout you?  What random kindness has been shown to you--or what random kindness have you done for someone???

My neighbors. After my ice melted after 3 days, my neighbors came to Patrick's rescue. Patrick's milk is like anyone else's water. It is a requirement. Part of OCD of his autism makes him very picky. No prepackaged milk that is premixed, and no powdered milk. My neighbor across the street had generators to keep his freezers and stuff going and when he went to find gas, obtained ice for us (my ankle has been sprained since Sep 6th and hard to walk on still). My other neighbor obtained a generator by chance right after the storm and said if the ice fell threw to bring over the milk to keep cold and we'd figure out how to get it to Patrick. And my other neighbor went out on Wednesday and found power restored to the west side of The Woodlands. She heard that we were almost out of milk now and she picked up one gallon of 2% milk for Patrick. Between them all, they kept Patrick hydrated, and reduced his risk of seizures due to dehydration. They are heroes to me.

It was so nice to see everyone outside helping each other wasn't it? Heck-I even did yard work and I NEVER push a lawnmower (not with 2 men in my house LOL)!

Waves howdy hey to all of you!!!! Wow it has been just like you said Kenswife. So many people are showing their kind spirit. Prior to the storm I had mentioned several times to many of my friends that I felt that people had lost sight of what God wants us to do. Simple acts of random kindness to our neighbors and community.

The day after the storm, I felt compelled to assist my neighbors. You could see the look on many people's faces (heartbreak, despair, fear, sorrow and more), so I grabbed my gloves and rake, walked over to my neighbors yard and started raking the leaves. Picking up the debris, comforting the neighbor and hugging him, I'll never forget his eyes and the look on his face....he looked like he had just lived through a nuclear holocaust. He is a senior citizen, barely able to get around, but he never asks for help ever. He kept telling me, that he would get it cleaned up. Looked him in the eyes, gave him a hug and said, "Things are going to be alright. We can help each other one branch limb at a time, one leaf at a time.

Since the Tsunami of the tree limbs has hit our area it has been an overwhelming a task for one person to do. So let's begin with our neighbors and our neighborhood." Well, suddenly I looked around where no one else had feared to venture out of the house. Many people started coming out of their homes. We started asking each other if they were okay. I've got more great stories to add, because believe me. There were some miracles that occurred during this disaster as well. I'm grateful and thankful to be alive. Tha

--continued--

Thankful for everything that God has spared me and family during this disaster. Material things can be replaced, but the lives of our family, friends and neighbors cannot. Be safe!
