What do you do with the influx of political mail / advertisements arriving almost daily in your mailboxes during election time?  Do you read them or just file thirteen them?  I don't know about you, but my mailbox is inundated with political ads currently.  This is a very costly project for all the political candidates running for election.  I wonder if people really pay attention to them or not.  I get a lot more for a few particular candidates than I do others.  I mainly scan some and then trash them.  It sure seems like a waste of money to me, but maybe not, who knows.  All I know is I will be glad when the election is over so I can go back to my regular "junk mail" that I receive.

We burn the paper. Yeah we can still burn here.
I am being bombarded with credit card app's right now. I open them and put it all back in the prepaid envelope after I tear our name and address off them and politely mail it back to them. Hate to waste that postage.

jeanette you are too funny. The prepaid envelopes they send you are not paid for unless the envelope is returned. So actually you are costing them money but hey that will teach them to mess with you.

I have a cross shredder. Any suggestions on what to do with all those tiny pieces of shredded paper?

Yeap I know. Plus I don't have to burn it.They have to dispose of it.
Wish I could return to sender ,the political mail ( Yeah I tryed it) but it came back to me even marking out the zipcode bar code. Go figure.

jeanette, there IS a way you can "opt out" of receiving those credit card applications. Do a search on the Internet for "Opt out" and follow the steps for opting out either for five years or life. I've done it; it did seem to diminish the number of credit card applications received. HOWEVER, the banks and institutions that you personally have accounts with will still mail you all that credit card stuff. I know it drives me crazy, too.

On the other subject of what I wrote this blog about, I wonder if anyone will actually vote for someone because they receive tons of political ads from them. I wonder if it really helps their position or not. Personally, it doesn't have any effect on the way I vote at all.

I throw all that trash away! We used to have a thing we said at the PO. Whoever mailed out the most political junk mailings, did not get our vote. I've never looked at one piece!
I hate all the stupid signs and the phone calls are beyond belief!

Hi! My name is Kathy and I live in Oakville with my puppy, Kahlua. I work out of my house. I start my day watching Fox 2 -- it's the BEST local coverage, with the BEST TV anchors -- bar none! (Click on my photos to see my baby, Kahlua.)
