e-mail

Do you sometimes wish you never heard of e-mail?  I get so tired of "having" to go through my Inbox and read all of my e-mails.  But if you don't clear your Inbox for a week or so, look out.  You'll be on your computer FOREVER reading all the "important" things your friends sent you.  E-mails take a lot of my time and makes me wonder WHY I do it.  After all, for the most part I'm only forwarding jokes.  Nothing much of any real importance. 

And what about those chain-letter type e-mails where if you don't forward them you'll be put in jail or something to that effect.  One thing I don't do is forward them.  

Does anyone else feel the way I do about e-mail?

I don't forward chain letter.I don't open every email I get either as I usually can tell by the subject I have had them before.I get very little junk mail it goes to a different folder.Most email I get are from the bolgs of my fav's and later I haven't been getting them like I should lol.But it is nice when I haven't heard from someone over sea's or close to home to email to see how they are.

Hi kathy.. I do love email.. but not if it starts with FWD.. or worse yet.. FWD FWD FWD.. it's a pet peeve of mine, actually. I know I offend many by deleting them, but I rarely open one that starts that way.

I don't mean to offend anyone and I'll respond to anyone who writes to me.

It's so fast.. and the postage for email is amazingly cheap! :)

I have nothing against God, but I really don't need to bne saved 500 times a week by anyone. I think God knows just how I feel about him. There is not a chain letter that I haven't seen. I have been online for 16 years. I doubt if there are any new ones. I haven't had my brain explode out of my nose or keel over dead because I didn't pass it on. I rarely get a new joke, but if I do I'll pass it on.

E-mail is improtant to me.... I have the option to mark the junk ones as spam and then if they come back they will automatically go to my junk folder....... It keeps the inbox a lot cleaner

I will only fwd a chain email if I think it is cute. Most of the time, DELETE DELETE DELETE

It sounds as though you're all in agreement with me -- so far.

connie, as you do, I DELETE, DELETE, DELETE those chain letter e-mails. I NEVER forward them on.

And, if I get those long, really long (yawn)drawn out e-mails that it takes FOREVER to read, I DELETE those as well. I believe if I don't enjoy reading the long ones, then neither do my friends. So I do then a favor by not forwarding them on.

I really dislike it when I get a really cute forward and then at the bottom is a chain letter stating harm if I don't forward. However, I've become smart . . .

I click on forward, then delete the threat and forwarding detail. It said nothing about me having to forward the hatred, just the cute story . . .

I use AOL and have no problems with spam/junk mail anymore. Most of my inbox messages are from people that I know. I check emails all the time in order to keep the "new messages" down and also respond back when deemed necessary.

There are certain email systems that will actually beep your phone via a text message when you have an email. I do this for work. You have to have some very strong filtering though or you'll get thousands of text messages per month.

Oh, BTW - you have an email.

I delete chain-letters immediately.

I do forward funny jokes or videos.
Gotta go I have new email to check!
