  So yesterday...was a crazy day.....i just gotta say I LOVE L.A.'s FOX 11morning show  "GOOD DAY LA"..... I always get the scoop...so Thank YOU! hahaha. So yesterday morning I was watching GOOD DAY LA and Host Steve Edwards asks "Do you want to dance your way to a  World Record?" I popped up out of bed and  like a doof ball I answerd  ......."Yes,  Yes I do"....on the edge of my bed straining to hear the details , He pulled a Ryan Seacrest on me and said "Stay Tuned" ........and what did I do???? I stayed tuned in, they had me sucked in ...lol

       So they come back from commercial and they say...."So You Think You Can Dance?" is trying to break the world record down at the Nokia Theatre PLAZA" ...Hello?  just six blocks from my house......"100 people will be needed at 3 pm, get prizes and meet the Judges"......which meant my arch nemesis NIGEL LYTHGOE would be in attendance?  .....MUUUAHHHHHH! If you dont know already, NIGEL has had it out for me since American Idol Season 1....always rude, you know what maybee its just a british thing?........or he feels  like  im a thorn in his side that wont go away. or I HAVE DEVELOPED THESE DELUSIONS...No im not delusional.....Whatever,  Im here, get over it! ya cant get rid of me....HA! but  my fear is that one day,  in my quest to prevail  against those naysayers, that I will recieve a restraining order for pursuing my DREAMS! That would be some mess right? or Maybe that would propell me into the light......Hmmmmmm! just a thought......(note to self) "you have never been to jail, dont do anything stupid".

 So I arrive to the NOKIA  around 12noon just to case the joint, HA! I see they are setting up for the Idol Finale and for the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE World record attempt, I really think the Idea to move the American Idol FInale  from Hollywood's KODAK  to Downtown was D U M B!!!!!! Yeah the Nokia is beautiful and when LA LIVE is completed it will be AWESOME, But right now its all contstructuion development, there is not  any foot traffic like on Hollywood blvd, even at KODAK when the theatre only sat 3,500 they had troupble filling seats, The NOKIA holds 7,000....problemo as my native people would say .... anyways  ........So I leave and go to the library, pic up some accecories for the American Idol Finale  and 2pm head back, I get to the NOKIA PLAZA...I see Carley Smithson, Chickezee, John Michaels, Brook White, Jason Castro, giving interviews in the media area which was set up right by the So You Think You Can Dance world Record area...I was in the middle of the 2 shows I guess I was most known for .....C R A Z Y....lol. So back to the task at hand .....WORLD RECORD,   theres music blaring, So You Think You Can Dance energy drinks Flowing , Dave Styles from LA's Radio Station  KIIS FM 102. is hosting ....but no one was around, then at around 2:45pm  people started showing up  , come to find that  they were out of state contest winners.....there were  a few locals, and all the media was there Entertainment Tonight,  Access Hollywood, E!, YOUNG HOLLYWOOD, Metromix.com etc.

   Then we all get into our positions and the judges including NIGEL, come ou to greet the participants and of course I am front and center....Nigel spots the cameras then spots me and points to me and says YEAH! people around me were like......OMG he knows you? So I thought wow that cool that he was nice to me , then afterwards I try to say hi to him he gives me the ICE COLD SOUTH POLE SHOULDER.........OKAY so thats how you wanna play NIGEL...Thank you sir cause you are fueling my fire to be BETTER and not BITTER ....so all in all it was a great experience ...im part of History...and I even spoke with the judge from the Record Books and told him all the reality shows I have been on  he said I should submit for the world record for the MOST APPEARANCES ON REALITY SHOWS' HA! sounds worth looking into.......lol

Everyday Hollywood hopefuls arrive in this town with packed suitcases and hearts full of dreams. I know.. I am one of them. Luckily I have had some recent success on the Fox Hit Show "Dont Forget the Lyrics"........
There are a core group of individuls  (The unsung Heroes of Hollywood)who work on your favorite TV SHOWS , sometimes unseen,but ofter heard laughing and clapping..... but with the recent boom in  Gameshows most audience members are now set dressing, and most of these audience members are paid......However, Labor laws are ignored....Working 15-16 hours days with no overtime pay , sometimes without a break water or food individuals are treated as cattle by these Audience Companies one in particular, "STANDING ROOM ONLY"  better known to some as "SRO".....with ads on Craigslist and promises of cash at the end of taping many times they short indivudals 3.00 dollar here and there....with 200 people thats 600.00 that they pocket, this company gets paid 16.00 per hour plus any overtime per person,  but only pay minimum wage without overtime. And as I have experienced firsthand TERMINATED OR BLACKLISTED if questioned.....
This is ILLEAGLE, and this company must pay!!!!!!

Thank you GOD!!!! Gotta say that first and foremost!!!!!

I got off work early last night...so I decide to head over to HOLYWOOD/HIGHLAND....Home of the KODAK Theatre....and the Venue this evening for the Victoria Secrets Fashion Show.....I arrived just in time to see *Heidi Klum walk the PINK Carpet....Yes people they had a PINK CARPET!!!!! How Fab is that? I made my way to the top level where i could over look the Arrivals of various celebs such as *The Spice Girls, *Seal, *Eva Longoria,  *Dean Cain ...you know "Superman" From the show "Lois and Clark" co- starring future "Desperate Houswives" star* Terri Hatcher, anyways when Dean Cain walked by I started to do the "Soulja Boy" Dance and Yelled "Superman that HO!".....the crowd busted up!!!! then When *Hayden Panittiere (Heroes) walked through I yelled "SAVE A WHALE SAVE THE WORLD!".....I got a few moans and groans on that one......there was a lull in the red carpet oops ...I mean PINK carpet ... at these events paparazzi are yelling out the celebs names as they are approaching......So when the lull came I yelled out at a publicist "OH MY GAWD HANNAH MONTANA .....HANA MONTANA" the Press busted up!!!!!....then This BROTHA....more like a BB....BROTHA [...]  was like "YO Dude can you get up all outta my ear? Im on the phone" I told him "Your at a freaking HOLLYWOOD event...take your call somewhere else "DUDE" then he tried to get all Tough guy and said "We can Go rounds" I was Like "I wish you  would ...I need  to get a good work out! you better be ready for a 300lb beatdown!".....he wasnt expecting that comeback......Then I got even louder and he walk away!!!! WHAT? Thats what I thought! hahaha !

So back to the PINK CARPET

I LOVE FOX 11...... I wake up to Good Day LA and go to sleep with FOX 11 News so when I saw Jane Yamamoto...who I have encounted at a couple of  American Idol Events one time even giving her my card but she always seems so "Snobby" I would  use another word but I wont I was a a huge fan of hers until I met her in person.......what a contrast from her TV persona, Regardless ...... I was So excited to see her on that PINK CARPET,  I knew she would be "Oh So Rude"... So I yelled ""JANE YAMAMOTO".....I am a Fan".. ..... Not really anymore....I was  just  practicing being a really good Suck up...Hello this is "HOLLYWOOD" we all have to do it from time to time....lol.... this goes out to Jane....."Honey, Be a little more cordial to your Fans....You dont only have to suck up to A listers, cause you Never know who will one day go from Z- to the A List" Love ya J-

 .....I met this couple from out of town....and the wife asked if I was on "American Idol".....I laughed and said "Yes".....she barked at her husband ...hurry up take a pic....he's a celebrity, I Busted up and said "Im on the Z list"....then she asked me to sing....So I sang a little something....out of  the corner of my eye I  see this women stop and start recording me on her iPhone and then she approached me asking if I had contact info ...I said sure and gave her my card .....she then told me who she was.....She is the Creative Manager for RealSongs which is the Music Publishing Company of World Reknown Songwriter Diane Warrren..........My heart skipped a beat .....do you know what this means? A prayer had been answered....when I was 15..... I prayed to one day work with *Diane Warren, who has worked with *Mariah Carey, *Whitney Houston, *Christina Aguliera, *Areosmith just to name a few..........So I THANK YOU GOD for granting a young mans prayer 15 years later  in your time *GOD*, I thank you !!!.....

I got the Call today from The "Dont Forget the Lyrics" Staff, I really thought Wayne  Brady himself would have been calling me....yeah right...lol

 I was told that  I have been chosen to be a contestant on "Dont Forget the Lyrics"- YAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I will be taping at the end of August.

Studio City California -CBS Radford Studios

Yesterday was another monumental moment in my life. Lets rewind a bit .Some of you may know that my dad passed away when I was 15, and he influenced my music heavily but  music was not the only Joy in his life, sports was right up there with music, and the SF 49ers? They were his team. Jerry Rice? His favorite player of all time.  I remember Superbowl after superbowl,  my dad would be glued to the TV, like the majority of the world, He was rooting Jerry and the 49ers to chapionship after championship.

Back to yesterday. So I went to another audience participation JOB on a new ABC show entitled "WANNA BET". The premise of the show? There are  4 celebrities playing for charity.The Celebs this taping were Drew Lachay (98 degrees/ Dancing with the Stars winner) The actor who plays Ravens Dad on "Thats so Raven" The Blonde Actress on "REBA" and NFL STAR  Jerry Rice. Each celeb start with 25,000.00 each they wager an amount on the success or failure of  various guests "STUPID HUMAN TRICKS".

In between commercial breaks, My pal Frank Niocotero (Host of "Street Smarts" the show I was a winner on in 2003) would bring peeps down from the audience to perform various talents...and of course I LOVE to perform. So Frank had me perform a little somethin somethin......

First, I tell a Story of how back in 2000, I was in a Boy Band called U-N-I and that "98 degrees" were perfoming in the Memorial Auditorium which was accross the street from my Apt. back in Sacramento. Opening for "98 degrees" was a newcomer to the music scene an unknown .....Jessica Simpson ...I was working for the HardRock Cafe  at the time so I had crazy plan to crash a fellow BOY BAND rival ..So I call a Fellow member of my group, I put my work uniform on and head over to the auditorium and go through a secret passage that I knew of. we ended up in the Dressing room and plasterd U-N-I posters and picturesall over, as were exiting the dressing room we get caught by wardrobe,  I try to say that I was delivering food from HardRock Cafe.....She then Blared ..."This is 98Degrees No fire Zone"......we laughed and jammed out of there before security was called. Later that night I was able to buy a scalped tix for $5.00..lol .....after the show, Jessica was set up at a table signing autographs. After seeing her and sister Ashley Simpson (one of her backup  dancers), I had the opportunity to get an autograph I looked her in the eye and said "Your career is gonna be HUGE!) who woulda Thunk? I DID!!!!!....lol.

Back to the "Wanna Bet" Set. I start to sing "Jesus Loves Me" ....and out of the corner of my eyes  I see Drew sorta mocking me...but then outta nowhere Jerry Rice comes over to me as Im singing and he is feeling IT! he starts to go to CHURCH with me......I say "HOLLA"........ you say "LUYA"...lol. I finish my little last Gospel riff and Jerry gives me the biggest Bear Hug!!!!! It was so sureal.....He Hugged me...I got back to my seat and those around me asked...DO realize that Jerry Rice just GAVE YOU A HUG? and I had a moment...My Dad would have been proud!!!

American Idol LUCKY Season 7 auditions...NOT SO LUCKY!

Well I just got back from the American Idol LUCKY season 7 Auditions...except we werent so LUCKY ..Yes.... just mere monthes after crowning the season  6 winner they are back at it again.......I had it all planned out ..I was gonna mess with American Idol , If you know me then you remember that t I was on the first season  and you might remember TAM-EE-KA  dont call her TA- MA- KA  you remember her ? Dont you?"You can Kiss my natural born black [...]?" ring a bell? just google TAMIKA BUSH AMERICAN IDOL and you will quickly remember who Im talking about.

We reconnected earlier this year on a project and have remained friends....I thought it would be a hoot if we both attended the auditions together.....So I called her up and told her we have to get to San Diego to the auditions. So with our last 60$ we took the Greyhound to San Diego, Our departure time was to be 3am arriving to SD by 6am and arriving to the Qualcomm Stadium by 7 am, However, They overbooked the bus and we were bumped not once but twice and ended up leaving at 6am not arriving to SD until 9:30....we werent trippin we were excited about our little BIG  adventure. As we board the bus we are treated on the Greyhound TV with a LIVE shot of Nichelle Turner at the SD audition.  We both looked at each other and yelled "WE LOVE NICHELLE".........3 hours later We Arrive to the stadium at 10am as we make our way off the SD Trolly train, and low and behold who do we see? ....YES,  Nichelle Turner , And I sing "NICHELLE TURNER", she sort of gave me that , "OH GOD " look, This is my second encounter with her and again she seemed to be not so warm in person as she is on TV,what a bummer ,  Tamika then tried to approach her to say Hi and Nichelle turned her back and walked away....that urked me so bad!!!! 3rd strike. I had held my tounge before but I could no longer contain my self...I yelled to her, "I was a FAN but no Longer, ya swear your Star Jones" we then preceded to make our way to the registration...we arrive to the gate but are told the registration is on the otherside. As we made our way over to the other side we are approached by different people who reconized Tamika and Myself from season 1 and asked to take pictures with us...Fun Fun Fun...lol We then see Nichelle walking over to us and she explained that she was on an important phonecall and could be bothered....understanding the situation. I told her in jest, 'your lucky NICHELLE I was about to go on myfoxla.com and put your attitude on blast" ....all is forgiven Nichelle, keep doing your thang!I  After that encounter and all jazzed  we were singing our way to the registration table .........as we approach the enrgy was heavy!!!!........They turn us away !!!saying that registration was closed......WHAT????? They tell us that registaration was closed at 8 AM.....But our BUS......everyone  flaked on us that were gonna give us a ride ....we intended.... we were expecting to get there by 7am ...DANG GREYHOUND BUS JACKED US OVER!!!!!!

The American Idol website never gave a cutoff time and it also said "NO OVERNIGHT CAMPING ...we  then soon found out that audition hopefuls had been in line since 2AM CAMPING OUT!!!!

We tried to explain our situation to American Idol Production ..all they offered us  was a "SORRY your gonna have to go to Dallas -Omaha Nebraska-North Carolina -Atlanta Georgia- Miami Florida- or Philadelphia  if you want to audition."

I was PO'd ...I was  there to support Tamika, I felt bad that she had spent her last dollars to get a bus ticket out there and this is the last season she is eligble to audition , she has worked so hard the last 5 years, she looks amazing. She began to cry and No one cared it was aweful...........

So LUCKY season number aint so LUCKY after all , Well for us anyways..Im sure the winner of season 7 will beg to differ.....

I would love to get sponsors for Tamika,  raise money so we could make it to the Philadelphia Audition in late August....Heck I think Greyhound should send us there for FREE... afterall it was their over booking mistake that made us late in the first place.........

"Dont Forget the Lyrics"CALLBACK

Hey yall,

First off thanks to all who have shared this journey with me...either in the real world or the cyber world....

Wow what a week. I auditioned to co- host the MDA Jerry Lewis tele-thon on thursday, And it went great, I went dressed like a disco ball,(no, Not really) but I did  wear a silver sequin Shirt ....o so campy ...I walked in and Said "HEY LADIES" in a Jerry Lewis inspired way...lol...........One producer said I was a "breath of fresh air...and that  to many people were taking this audition way to serious, and not having fun", I  told her FUN was my middle name .....lol

Now back to my "Dont Forget the Lyrics" call back. First I gotta say I LOVE the casting directors Sunny and Becky...smooches Darlings .....O so Hollywood ...lol...

The night before the call back I was so excited, like a child waiting for the sun to rise on christmas morning or the gut wrenching sleepless night before the big trip to Disneyland.

This call back was my Christmas, ..my Disneyland...a Million Dollar possible payout...I tried to fall asleep naturally , then I remembered I had some Tylenole PMS and I doubled the dose.....A little advice people... dont double the dose ....I could not sleep at all. The TPM'S made me all dried out, stuffed my nose up, I couldnt breath, I couldnt swallow ,,,,seriously I thought I was gonna die.....and when I did wake up ? ...it was   2pm the next day. I was so out of it people ...My call back was in one  hour, I felt like a train had hit me, It was worse than a tequila hangover.....never again people...never again!!!!...lol

So I show up to the call back  still groggy and foggy. And I have to muster up some " HIGH ENERGY."...So I walk into the room with 5 producers and first thing  they say ....."Lets see a cartwheel"...I put on my application that I used to do cartwheels for quarters when I was a child.....Geez I hadnt done a cartwheel in years......., So I take off my blazer and bust out my best Mary Lou Retton.....Ouch I pulled a calf muscle....but I stuck my landing like Keri Struggs with a broken ankle in the 1996 Atlanta  Olympics. They asked if I was alright ...I said "If Keri can suck it up... so can I"....they then asked me to sing the National Anthem ...Yes ...one of my best songs. I belted it out like Whitney Houston ...before crack....and they loved it!!!!

I then told them about working as a Barista, It was 2004 I had lied on my Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf application, they asked If I had experience with a BARISTA...I thought Barista was part of the bread family ... you know Like the Bagel or Bagette......you know ? Barista.....well,  I got the job, and since they thought I had experience they put me on drinks right away..Sure, I could pour a mean cup of  Decaf coffee...but then I get an order for a SOY MILK LATTE.....huh? So I go over to the fridge and I see that there is non-fat milk and some Asian chicken salads with sides of soy sauce ....of course... soy milk ....duh...So I pour the milk and add a splash of soy sauce and begin to steam the concogtion, while enjoying a SoyMilk steamed facial my co- worker notices that the foam was a caramel color and asks me "What is that?" and I looked at her and said.."ummmm ..SOY MILK"? needless to say She kicked me off the drink station and put me on the register........"

They then asked my 5 fave artists ....1. Mariah  2. Whitney 3.BoysIIMen 4. Bread 5. Britney/Christina...they then asked me to sing "Hero" by Mariah ...I Nailed it like Jesus to the Cross...I LOVE JESUS by the way!!!!! and  It had to happen for our salvation!!!!

We then played a short version of the game.........I got the songs right.....and they thanked me. and told me GREAT JOB and that out of 10,000 auditions I was one of 10 called back.....

So keep your toes, legs, eyes and lips crossed people.

I got another callback for the Fox hit TV show  "Dont Forget the Lyrics"....YAHOOOO!!!! Thanks to all who had read my last post and sent me good thoughts...I go tommorow  Friday 7/27/07 for my final auditions in front of the Executive producers..........so please say a prayer, do a chant, meditate or send positive thoughts, whatever you do? I will be greatful.....

Hey Yall,

What a great day yesterday was, I attended the audition for  the FOX hit show "Dont Forget the Lyrics"  or as I like to call it "DFTL" Hosted by the multi talented Wayne Brady. The ironic thing is? I met Wayne Brady when I first came to LA in 2001, I was working as an "Audience Participation Artist" in other words i got paid minimum wage to sit in the audience and clap to the point of having to visit the free clinic.

 I was in the audience of Wayne Brady's shortlived primetime show and the audience warm-up guy asked if anyone had a request  for the LIVE band to play? I sat at the edge of my seat shot my hand up and started waving feverishly  like a third grader  eagerly hoping to be chosen  to answer the math problem on the chalkboard. The warm up guy made his way over to me and asked my request, with enthusiasm I shouted out  "BABY ONE MORE TIME"  in unison  the crowd moaned, Had they turned on me? I then interjected "But Im gonna sing and dance to the song" the crowd cheered and jeerd  as I made my way to the stage and sang and danced my [...] off, Now at the time I had no idea what was happening behind me, as I hit my last pose I turn to find Wayne Brady and his Back up dancers, who happen to be former Britney Spears dancers  cheering me on, Then Wayne approached me,  gave me his email address and said , "Anyway I can Help your career? let me know" I emailed him numerous  times, never recieved a response............ this is my chance fo full circle maybee?

Back to yesterday ...so  I arrive to the production office at 11am to find a small cramped room with 6 other potential contestants. Everyone was so "GAME SHOW READY".....I was handed a TEST ....A FREAKIN TEST? on lyrics,  DANG the pressure...you had to get 50% of the test right in order to move on to the next round of the audition...It took  me 2 hours to finish the test, I took my time..lol.  I was  telling my whole life story to anyone that would listen, and guess what everyone wanted to hear my journey to this point.....Thanks Guys.

So Finally I find that I passed with 50% ....Thank ya Jesus !!! So I go in for my group interview, and sing my heart out and make what to some may think a "Complete fool"  but as Cartman from SouthPark would say "What Eva!  what eva!  I do what I want"....at least I didnt go in with balls glued to my Chin, Love ya BUTTERS.....and for a MILIION DOLLAR prize...please you know  I'll act a fool!!!!

So I made it to the individual interview with 2 casting directors, and again I kept them entertained to the point I felt like someone had punched me in my GUT and thats a whole lot of gut!.....lol

I sang "Stop in the name of LOVE" with full on Cheoreography....thanks for the inspiration "So you think you can dance?" ......Thats more than likely the reason I felt like I got punched in the gut, Fat boy went full out...lol

Well I made it to the next level of casting ....yahoo, I go in front of producers next week.

My American Idol season 6 Finale

Hey Yall,

 Well Season 6 is in the Can , and by now we all know who the new American Idol is..... Miss Jordin Sparks.....I knew she was gonna win !!! We all did right?

Anywhooooo I had a blast at the finale,  I woke up feeling lucky!!!! I left my house at 12 noon to meet up with my girl  SYLVIA at the Kodak Theatre, We didnt have tickets, but by faith I knew we would get in!!!!! I took the" Metro",which is just a fancy way to say the  BUS...lol,  I wanted to stop by the good ol 99 cent store to pick up an Umbrella to shield me from the sun. The Bus was taking forever , I was to meet up with Sylvia at 1:30 pm . After getting to the 99cent store and handeling my bizness it was about 1:20pm, I was runnng LATE, I waited at the bus stop , walked in the middle of the street and looked down....no bus in sight, I yelled out "c'mon Lord, Help me out"  and 2 minutes later a brand new Mercedes Benz honks @ me the window rolls down and a women yells to me "Hey Jules, get in" without hesitation I jumped in like a 20$ hooker. I then realize it was a Lady from  the Anna Nicole Vigil and  Fashion Show I Hosted  earlier this year... What a blessing,  I went from riding the bus to getting driven  in a brand new benz. Thank you GOD!!!!

So I had to get change to call Sylvia from a Pay phone and I walk into the Rennisance Hotel and Run into "So you think you can dance" winner BENJI  he stopped me and asked how things have been going since SYTYCD and asked If I was performing at the Finale, I said "not this time", We then went our ways and I got my change and went outside to find a payphone and low and behold I run into someone I had met the previous day and he let me use his cell to call Sylvia, I get a hold of her and she is exiting the freeway !!!! Bam we met up and went to the Red Carpet. I hadnt told Sylvia we didnt have tix and, so she was a litted miffed that she drove to LA from Santa Barbra with Gas prices at near 4$ a gallon I could see why she was angered.......However My Faith is Stronger than most I believe therfore we will achieve entry into the finale,.... All of a sudden I hear a Murmur in the crowd, that there was a standby line and if there were extra tix that  they would be  giving them away  fo free. In charge of Tix was ERICA, A woman who works coordinating audiences for television shows around town and Since  Syliva and I make extra cash being  paid Audience members and have worked with her in the past she hooked us up with 2 free tix!!!!!!Thanks God for Erica!!!

We get into the show 15 seconds before it went live. It was amazing!!!! 15 minutes before the show ended and during a commercial break The guy who interacts with the audience during commercial break was up by us and I asked him if I could sing Happy Birthday to Sylivia (It wasnt her BDAY....lol) he gave me the MIC and with Clive Davis and 3,000 American Idol Fans in the Kodak, I blew that song out of the water, Randy And Simon Stood to thier feet looking around to see who was singing !!!!!!Thanks GOD!!!!!
