White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan has announced that he is stepping down, and he's written a book about his experiences in the Bush administration. He's claiming that Bush relied on a "propaganda campaign" to sell the Iraq war in the place of honesty and candor, go figure. He has called Bush's operation "insular, secretive and combative." The White House has called his accusations self-serving sour grapes, and reveals that he's been asked to leave earlier than originally planned.
McClellan's book focuses mostly on Bush's decision to go to war in Iraq, a determination he says had been made by early 2002, at least a full year before the invasion, if not earlier. The book goes on to document Bush's "ambitious and idealistic post-9/11 vision of transforming the Middle East through the spread of freedom." But Bush and advisers made a marketing choice to downplay this rationale in favor of focusing entirely on trumped up portrayals of the threat posed by WMD's. In a nutshell McClellan's book "What Happened" offers portraits of Bush, Rove, Rice, Libby all confirming that we went to war in Iraq under false pretenses, and that we were also serially lied to about the outing of Valerie Plame. Interesting enough, but it's about 5 years too late.
Another Bush administration official tries to wash blood off his hands, and make some bucks in the process by writing what's been described as a "come clean" book pointing fingers at everyone except himself and claiming to be an innocent bystander who watched horrible things happening but had no choice other than to go along.
We need all the openness and honesty we can get, but it would have been better to have taken the opportunity when it mattered, before the 2004 election, when it could have potentially have saved thousands of lives. Bush led a political propaganda campaign to sell the war, was not open and forthright, and ignored or simply disregarded contradictory intelligence on the war. He remained in campaign mode by never reflecting, never reconsidering, and never compromising. History seems poised to confirm what most of us Americans already know, that the decision to invade Iraq was a serious strategic blunder. The most damning revelation of all was in confirming that Bush wanted to invade Iraq to "create a legacy of greatness" by transforming the Middle East into a land of peace and brotherhood. Over 4,000 dead U.S. soldiers sacrificed for a neo-con wet dream of democratic dominoes across the region. How chilling is that? The president had promised himself that he would accomplish what his father had failed to do by winning a second term in office. Then there's the media who was too easy on the administration on the "selling" of the war and have been called "enablers."
Remember GW, it's not a lie if you believe it. Disastrous policy for a sitting President. Lies on top of lies, and the more the truth comes out, there is still that percentage of brain-washed Americans who will always believe we were taking the moral high ground by invading a sovereign country who didn't pose a threat to a single one of us......

Sheesh, where do I start?
Kiss and tell books are often not true.
Next. We DID find weapons that Saddam wasn't supposed to have. He had warheads that would hold chemicals, a no no. We also found a barrel of chemicals he wasn't allowed to have. Another no no. He also had weeks of time to dispose of weapons while we were waiting for the liberals to agree that we should invade.
A top Saddam official that now resides in the US wrote a book saying that Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and had planned on using them. Remember, even ultra liberals like Hillary (who admits talking with her former president husband about Saddam before the vote)voted to invade because she saw the same intelligence reports that Bush saw.
And finally, if the terrorists weren't over there bombing innocent people, we would have left years ago. We are over there PROTECTING Iraqi people. Most of the people doing the bombing and killing are NOT Iraqis.

Yawnnnn! Nothing new here by McClellan that was not priviously known and reported. Give it a few months and his book would be in the Barnes & Noble sales bin for a couple of bucks.

Finally, the truth comes out and it is exactly what I had been saying all along.

Crazy, zealous patriots allowed the Pres. to do whatever he wanted unchecked. Like I said, and I know this makes some mad, the lives that were taken in Iraq were, unfortunately, wasted. And the people we have to thank are those uber patriots (like grampa) who called people like me viscious names because we didn't think Iraq was ever a good idea and would never have wasted the lives that we hold valuable like the patriots were so quick to do without thought.

As of right now there are about 1300 users signed in. There should be 1300 responses to our President and His Men committing High Crimes and Misdemeanors, and we all know it.

4100 Men and Women have sacrificed their lives protecting each other in an Occupation, that has turned into a full fledge Civil War. We all know that, we all watch our young men, women, sister, brother, father, and mother march off to Bush/Cheney Oil Reconciliation Day in Iraq.

We know we are not going to see John McCain or Jon Kyl, come out and say, Wow, we didn't know. Jon Kyl, Mr. Judiciary himself, may just find himself in the mix because he was definitely Dick Cheney General Patreaus when it came to getting a promotion.

John McCain can't come out and denounce George Bush, because he just denounced his Savior Reverend Hagee. He will be coming out denouncing the next DAYSTAR star Rev. Parsley because he's no Prophet either.

Bush's Mein Kempf 2001-2008 is simple. The Consolidation of all four Branches of Government unto the "SECRETARY"

Come election time, McCain is the same as he too had his hand in the Almighty Cookie Jar, again! This time it only costed Arizona all the land between the San Pedro River, through the Yavapai Mountains.

Matt McCellan stood before the American People on everything. 9/11, The Patriot Act, FISA, Purging of the U.S. Attorney Paul Charlton from Arizona, the Reauthorization of the Patriot Act, Protect America Act, S Bill 1639, Economic Opportunity, Immigration Reform Act of 2007, aka Marshall Law Immigration, and the consolidation of all four branc

How about what about the legal consequences of lying a nation into a war, just for starters? Who ought to be held accountable, and when? Other than maybe an energy crisis, I can't think of an issue more crucial at this moment in our nation's history......

Then there's the warrantless wiretaps and illegal surveillance. A belligerent President vowed that domestic spying will continue whatever the letter of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act or the Bill Of Rights. There's definite outrage by Republicans and Democrats at Bush's contempt of constitutional law.

Violation of the Geneva Conventions by torturing prisoners, a charge that Bush knows now that he cannot argue against.

Bush personally authorized the release of CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity.

War profiteering that adds motives to the crimes committed by Bush and his cronies. All those blood-soaked bucks that have flooded the coffers of companies like Halliburton, Exxon/Mobil, Blackwater or dozens of other companies extorting billions from the U.S. Government, all that money borrowed from our children's futures from places like China and Saudi Arabia, a huge crippling and growing debt to nations we cannot trust.

People like Ken, who claim to be patriots, are actually wolves in sheep's clothing. They allow their govt. and support their govt. no matter what they choose to do even if it goes against the belief system that is America.

Hillary and other liberals got the same intelligence reports that Bush got. All the ones that voted to attack believed that Sodomy had weapons of mass destruction. Why is Bush to blame and not them?

That answer is too long to fit. Just google "patriot act" for your answer.

Do you have any idea how far removed the president is from a private in the Army? If the pimple faced kid at McDonalds gets your order wrong, do you blame the founder of the McDonalds?

I am not a patriot, I don't claim to be one, and I don't play one on TV. There are a lot of things I don't support that the government does. I think Bush is one of the worst presidents we have ever had. He wants to make illegals, legal. I am against that. I think we shoud have attacked Iraq. But it should have just been hundreds of air strikes over the years to any place we think might have weapons that he wasn't allowed to have. We never should have put ground troops in there. But now that we have disrupted their country, we are OBLIGATED to stay until they can fend for themselves. Bush is too stupid to admit that is why we are still over there. But that is why we are still there.

Scott McClellan stepped down as press secretary over 1 year ago, Dana perino has been doing the lying for the Bush administration since he stepped down. KEN of AZ we didnt find WMD in Iraq unless your siting that lie about the mustard canisters that were over 15 years old and the USA sold to saddam during the IRAN-IRAQ war. Your information is as bad as the information given to Scott McClellan to tell the american people. BUSH even admits and the rest of them admit there were no WMD now. KENOFAZ are the kind of people who believes anything the criminal president says. The consequences for lying the county into war in basically TREASON punishable by death.

This brings back the statements of Rev wright. The USA sold WMD to saddam for the iran-Iraq war. KENOFAZ needs to start researching the difference between the truth and the PROPAGANDA he has bought into. Thats exactly what McClellan is talking about.

1 day before the news of McClellan's new book hit the news the prosecutor who prosecuted CHARLES MANSON was interviewed about his new book about BUSH lying the country into war and ANY prosecutor in the USA can prosecute BUSH for those lies taking us to war. JOE ROGAN & ALEX JONES interview Vincent Bugliosi

The conclusion of the Vincent Bugliosi interview is too important not to post, he backs up the McCleelan claims 1 day before they were made. We continue with the host of "FEAR FACTOR's" JOE ROGAN asking a question.

Not much to say actually. Just a normal kinda guy. I drive a truck delivering groceries for a major food chain here in the valley. Try to keep educated on local and national events especially those concerning corruption and moral ineptitude by our "elected officials." Very much for protecting our freedoms and rights, always open to new ideas and discussions. I don't identify as Democrat or Republican, and don't like to be labeled as liberal or conservative. Just try to stay responsible and informed as possible.
