Am I not toaster smart here.Guess not.
All I want ito do is push it down and toast and pop back up.
We have been married 42 year's we have owned 2 toaster's. That is how much we use a toaster. Yeap not often. One for 35 year's that we gave $5.00 for new,a two slotter.
Truman bought a 4 slotter at a yard sale 7 year's ago for $.50 or $1.00 he don't remember. But I alway had trouble pushing this thing down. But hey it worked good ,So I dealt with it. Had were you could toast 1 piece or 4 .Like it ok since I don't toast much it would be ok.
Well day before yesterday he went to toast his waffle's and it quit working.
Off to Walmart we go.
OMG the look''s and price's of these toaster's.
Well the cheapest 4 slicer was $14.00 I think. Suppose to be able to put any size of bread in it. Bagel's/texas toast, etc. It has these little thing's that hold the bread center.(Rolling eye's here.)
Well this morning Truman wanted his frozen waffle's (You know how small they are) and our son wanted reg. toast.
Well the toaster isn't deep enough. The reg. sandwich bread stick's out of it and don't toast. The waffle's the same way (And you know how small they are).
I got the book out again to see if it had adjustment's and it just tell's of the great feature's it has. (Rolling eye's again)
So back to Walmart it will go after I finally got it in the box,so the flap's would meet.
I think we will hit a yard sale or two to see if I can get a new toaster that bread fit's in.

So unemployment line he will go, ( You can do it by phone now can't ya?) like many other worker's.
His ex-wife's aren't gonna like hearing this new's.
But nothing he can do about it until he find's another job.

We aren't going anywhere. Probably work around this negelected yard of our's.
He has Sunday's and Monday's off. So lastnight when he got home he FINALLY said I will have the time to cut this dam out. So he worked 2 hour's lastnight on it to get it started,Then today he has been working on it 12 hour's.He got it cut out OMG! I have been waitng 3 year's for him to do this. He even bought a new Kabota to do this job with . But he don't have time or it is full of water from the rain or it is to dry to work with.
Well believe it or not it was dry all the way down to the 12 foot deep end. But he got started and couldn't really stop on it as the drain pipe we had in it broke off, He didn't want it to fill witth water from the creek.
He is going to someday get all the dirt moved and tailored out so we will have more to move and the creek running again.(It run's all the time anyway. Just not very pretty with all the grass and deep hole it was in. Was still alot of crawdad's in the dirt also. I believe that is what messed the pond up anyway. But it got to hard to take care of also. We still have the big pond trying to get it to stop leaking. It is keeping a good level now, think he has it about fixed.
Well anyway he wanted to get this done so he could work on his truck he is fixing with a backhoe on it while he is on vacation.
Well I don't think he will be able to move tomorrow from all the shift and jerking and stuff he did today but we will see.
I didn't just sit and watch him either. I got all the tree's in the driveway rounded up the way I like and a few flower pot's weeded. To dry to pull weed out of the flower bed's so two new hose's tonight so I can get the worked up. All my hose's are out back to water the new grass seed we put in and I hate dragging hose's,so I will just buy two more.
Look inside at the progress he had in 14 hour's. I am so proud of him.
I think it will be one of them vacation's were he will be glad to get back to work to rest.

One day a florist goes to a barber for a haircut. After the cut he asked
about his bill and the barber replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm
doing community service this week.' The florist was pleased and left the
shop.
When the barber goes to open his shop the next morning there is a 'thank
you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.
Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill,
the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm
doing community service this week.' The cop is happy and leaves the
shop.
The next morning when the barber goes to open up there is a 'thank you'
card and a dozen donu t s waiting for him at his door.
Later that day, a college professor comes in for a haircut, and when he
tries to pay his bill, the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept
money from you. I'm doing community service this week.' The professor is
very happy and leaves the shop.
The next morning when the barber opens his shop, there is a 'thank you'
card and a dozen different books, such as 'How to Improve Your
Business' and 'Becoming More Successful'.
'Then, a Congressman comes in for a haircut, and when he goes to pay his
bill the barber again replies, 'I cannot accept money from you. I'm doing
community service this week.' The Congressman is very happy and leaves the
shop.
The next morning when the barber goes to open up, there are a dozen
Congressmen lined up waiting for a free haircut.
And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between the
citizens of our country and the members of our Congress.
VOTE CAREFULLY THIS YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is alway's about the almighty dollar isn't it.
I was just talking to a neighbor on the phone.
She has 2 brother's that live in a flood area in Winfield.
In 93 one stay and one moved away.
Well the one that stay finally got his house together 3 year's ago.
So the flood come's again. No he isn't rebuilding this time.
But where ever the other brother moved he also is flooded. (Didn't ask where sorry).
Any way they normal rent a storage build for some on their stuff on a monthly basis. $50.00 a month.
Well they went to rent another storage unit at the same place to move the stuff from the house into before it flooded.
$200.00 a month.
Same size storage unit they pay $50.00 for at the same place.
I know I am repeating "at the same place "..
Now that just isn't right in my book.
As I said; people alway's out for that almighty dollar.
This is sad to say the least.
Anyone else know of any price gouging being done due to the flood ?

This morning my grandchildren came down and was saying there was a manhunt for some guy.
Phillip Emily.
Well I had not heard about it. But I don't listen to the local radio station either. Nor had I looked at the local paper yet. So I started looking. When I typed it into the search bar before I blogged about it, to see if fox did a story as I don't alway's watch the new's except in the morning and evening. I thought yeah they did. But ,I see it was done on January 21,2007 Chris Regnier . He has been on the run that long and right under their nose I guess. We may have passed by him in the store who know's. I really did think I heard they caught him way back when. Evident he was located Saturday and he shot at a deputy sheriff. This guy is still on the loose. Here is the story of the Saturday incident from the local paper. http://www.dailyjournalonline.com/articles/2008/06/24/

Here is my blog of the day at the Zoo with some of the fox family.

This poor woman had 4 or 5 camera's taking our picture when we came out of the penquin place. Dan Gray and Michelle4wellness wasn't there until the very last camera. So Cricky has the only one with all of us. Plus the shot the Zoo employee took which I think Jana got not sure. I have around 300 picture's but probably won't post them all. But we will see now won't we. It will take a while so have patience.
So Let me tell my story of the day Fromm 8 A.M. til 5:30 when we got Harp back home.

Please Don't Drink and Drive By Albert Pelley
DRINK, DRIVE, and SPEED sure don't mix well.
They have five letters each. So does DEATH!
DEATH is often what the end result is.
To drink then drive leads only to regret.
Those who drink and drive just ask for trouble,
For they get behind the wheel and then drive on,
No thought given to the fact that while driving,
A mishap could occur, and they would be DEAD wrong.
Taking chances to some is just a way of living.
In the end this attitude will prove them wrong.
For God gave us a conscience for our guidance,
Remember then we're made of flesh not made of stone.
I remember days gone by when traffic was much lighter,
You could maybe drink and then drive safely on.
These days there's no room for impaired driving.
You're just a loser when your right to drive is gone.
To think straight grows dim with each drink taken.
Common sense must now rule your train of thought.
For YOUR family as well as the OTHER grieving families,
Pay a price when common sense just runs amok.
This morning I got a phone call that a kid that come's over to our daughter's was killed in a head on coliision lastnight around 11:30.
He is our son-in-law's best friend. They have know each other all their live's. He was 39 year's old. He was a heavy beer drinker, Yes he was a good troubled kid. He worked everyday. He has had a hard life and didn't make it any easier on himself by drinking so much,
The trouble is with this accident, was the person he hit head on was 18 year's old. What a shame. I know everyone has their time to go. But this just seem's so senseless.
So please don't drink and drive. I know you say" I know when I am drunk", but you really don't.
May you rest in peace Skip (Shane)

Traffic
Jack took a long look at his speedometer before slowing down: 73 in a 55 zone. Fourth time in as many months. How could a guy get caught so often?
When his car had slowed to 10 miles an hour, Jack pulled over, but only partially. Let the cop worry about the potential traffic hazard. Maybe some other car will tweak his backside with a mirror. The cop was stepping out of his car, the big pad in hand.
Bob?
Bob from Church? Jack sunk farther into his trench coat. This was worse than the coming ticket. A cop catching a guy from his own church. A guy who happened to be a little eager to get home after a long day at the office. A guy he was about to play golf with tomorrow.
Jumping out of the car, he approached a man he saw every Sunday, a man he'd never seen in uniform.
"Hi, Bob. Fancy meeting you like this."
"Hello, Jack." No smile.
"Guess you caught me red-handed in a rush to see my wife and kids."
"Yeah, I guess." Bob seemed uncertain. Good.
"I've seen some long days at the office lately. I'm afraid I bent the rules a bit -just this once."
Jack toed at a pebble on the pavement. "Diane said something about roast beef and potatoes tonight. Know what I mean?" "I know what you mean. I also know that you have a reputation in our precinct ." Ouch. This was not going in the right direction. Time to change tactics.
"What you clock me at?
"Seventy. Would you sit back in your car please?"
"Now wait a minute here, Bob. I checked as soon as I saw you. I was barely nudging 65." The lie seemed to come easier with every ticket.
"Please, Jack, in the car"
Flustered, Jack hunched himself through the still-open door. Slamming it shut, he stared at the dashboard. He was in no rush to open the window.
The minutes ticked by. Bob scribbled away on the pad.
Why hadn't he asked for a driver's license?
Whatever the reason, it would be a month of Sundays before Jack ever sat near this cop again. A tap on the door jerked his head to the left. There was Bob, a folded paper in hand Jack rolled down the window a mere two inches, just enough room for Bob to pass him the slip.
"Thanks." Jack could not quite keep the sneer out of his voice.
Bob returned to his police car without a word. Jack watched his retreat in the mirror. Jack unfolded the sheet of paper. How much was this one going to cost?
Wait a minute. What was this? Some kind of joke?
Certainly not a ticket. Jack began to read:
"Dear Jack, Once upon a time I had a daughter. She was six when killed by a car. You guessed it- a speeding driver. A fine and three months in jail, and the man was free. Free to hug his daughters, all three of them. I only had one, and I'm going to have to wait until Heaven before I can ever hug her again.
A thousand times I've tried to forgive that man. A thousand times I thought I had. Maybe I did, but I need to do it again. Even now. Pray for me. And be careful, Jack, my son is all I have left."
....................................................
..........."Bob"
Jack turned around in time to see Bob's car pull away and head down the road. Jack watched until it disappeared. A full 15 minutes later, he too, pulled away and drove slowly home, praying for forgiveness and hugging a surprised wife and kids when he arrived.
Life is precious. Handle with care. This is an important message; please pass it along to your friends. Drive safely and carefully. Remember, cars are not the only things recalled by their maker.
Funny how you can send a thousand jokes through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the sanctity of life, people think twice about sharing.
Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them.
Pass this on, you may save a life. Maybe not, but we'll never know if we don't try.
May today there be peace within you. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. "I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."
