Al is at it again. He has given us another "ten year window" warning  in his recent speech in Washington. The "tipping point" is fast approaching, or, is it? Apparently, Noel Brown, formerly of the United Nations environment program was giving us the same warning.......Back in 1989!!...

From, the US senate comitte on environment & public works:

“The leading experts predict that we have less than 10 years to make dramatic changes in our global warming pollution lest we lose our ability to ever recover from this environmental crisis,” Gore stated. But the former Vice President, who has been warning of a 10-year “tipping point” for several years now, appears to be unaware that the United Nations already started the 10 year countdown in 1989!

According to July 5, 1989, article in the Miami Herald, the then-director of the New York office of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Noel Brown, warned of a “10-year window of opportunity to solve” global warming. According to the 1989 article, “A senior U.N. environmental official says entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000. Coastal flooding and crop failures would create an exodus of ‘eco-refugees,’ threatening political chaos.”

"While Gore repeats his standard stump speech promoting man-made climate fears, much of the international science community is now openly dissenting from human caused global warming fears."

Looks like the list of dissenters, deniers and, of course, the rest of the "fringe element is growing. Hopefully, to become a horde one day.

Does anyone take him seriously anymore? I mean really, when he comes on TV, who in God's name actually listens to him? Anyone? It is sad and I kinda feel bad for him. Give it up Al. Your intentions are well but your theories have been shot to hell from many angles.

I'll make a prediction now, on the record. In 10 years from now when we have a cooldown from the sun's cyclic activity, Gore will be saying how it was he who made an impact, and yet some will believe him.

Jim, someone posted a blog on backing up your PC data to a third party server for a monthly fee. I replied and said how you can do it free with a simple USB stick, USB hard drive or 2nd PC. Why pay? He deleted the post!!! What the heck? It is no longer here. Oh well...

I saw that Tom. I agree with you.

That guy was probably on the level, but, why would you want to? Especially when it runs software that scans your computer daily, then connects to a remote server and sends your private data there!

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised, Tom.

The mans ego knows no bounds, nor does his wallet.

Dang, Hope he doesn't kick us off his internet!

Well at one time Gore at least has his looks going for him, now, he just looks crazy as a sh*thouse mouse.

How was the weekend in Galveston, Guns?

Looks like Dolly will hit SOTB. Hope so, cause you never really know with these trop systems.

We had a very good time. My son was so excited he could hardly sleep the whole weekend. We did alot in a short amount of time so I am a little exhausted today, we enjoyed the Johnson Space Center but it was way too much to see in just one trip, so my husband has bought a family pass so next time we are there we will go again. It is absolutely amazing- you know we watch the Space Shuttle go up and all the hype that goes along with it, we keep our fingers crossed that it goes up and comes back down... but my God the training those people go through, the minds that are behind the scenes that are never seen.... no mere mortal like myself could ever do it. It was very crowded on Galveston Island but we had a nice time there too. It was a good weekend.

Tee hee... it sure would be. I wouldn't mind being weightless for a little while. Speaking of which ya'll wish me luck, I am on my way to my first kick boxing class- which will probably be the equivalent of the proverbial bull in an china closet but I am going to give it a try.

Jimbo I forgot to tell you how humid it was in Houston, it played havoc with my hair... nothing a curly haired girl can do with such humidity except pin it up.

Interesting mission indeed! Who would be the mission control guy in Houston? Hmmmmm.

Give em hell tonight, Guns!

Did anybody notice this in the Tom Brokaw/AL GORP interview? They Talked about T Boone Pickens investment into solar energy and wind farms. Now, the next logical question in this interview (in my opinion) should have been to ask Al about his investments in alternative energy.

Wonder why Brokaw didn't? LOL.

Al probably scripted the interview.

Guns, when you get stiff and sore like that, you know you're accomplishing something, using those muscles you haven't used in a while. :)

Thanks Jimbo, today is a new day and today I feel like I have been plowed over by a freight train. I don't go back until Thursday to another session, hopefully my old ass will recover by then :)

I saw Gores interview on Meet the Press. What a nut. He even looks nuts now...like a face-lift gone wrong.
GORE: "There's enough solar energy that hits the surface of the planet in 40 minutes to provide a full year's worth of energy for the entire world"
What he doesn't mention is that we don't have the technology to harness it and then how much the present existing methods cost. Just the transfer lines to run small towns are in the 100's of millions. It costs $2 million a mile to string transmission wires!

GORE : "The entire polar icecap, Tom, been there three million years, it`s the size of the lower 48 states and the scientists now say that there`s a 75 percent chance it will be completely gone during the summer in as little as five years. This is happening on our watch. We have got to respond."

Remember, greenhouse warming says both poles would be warming first. Well, the South Pole is cooling and gaining ice mass at a fairly rapid clip. The North Pole, of course, we have more than 10 percent more ice today than we did a year ago on this date. The problem is that Gore is using 2007 information and applying short term statistics for long term alarmism.
What a nut.

Funny, you don't hear much mention on Antarctica, unless, of course, it's the piece that broke off of the Ross ice shelf. One scientist likened that to an "icicle falling off of a house". Not to mention the fact that an active volcano lies beneath the Antarctic, and, the ice mass continues to grow.

Good point about The problems with solar power. Even if we had unfettered $$$ and manpower to implement this, how long would it take? Trying to implement that now, without the proper technology would be interesting. Can you imagine the bugs that would have to be worked out? It would probably make Microsoft look good!

Guns, Remember....Not old, but, experienced! Have fun tonight!

Jimbo-
Good Golly Ms. Dolly, you sure pack a punch! Glad we didn't delay our trip to Houston and Galveston a week! Dolly brought a few friends to the party, I understand there are tornado warnings and watches all along the Texas coast. Meanwhile, here I sit in North Texas burning up, not a drop of rain in site and still suffering soreness from my kickboxing lesson... go again tomorrow night Jimbo- if I ever get this down, I could be dangerous :)

A long legged kick boxer! Sounds dangerous to me! :)

Left ya a comment in David A's blog on Dolly. Looks like lower dew points for us if this front ever makes it through. It's taking long enough!

Ibejim:

I came across some stuff that might interest you relating to the "gored mess" that you're referring to. A My Fox LA user "Don's Political Blog" has his own personal blog:

http://donlindberg.blogspot.com

On his blog, he has something on Al Gore and his junk science global warming soapbox.

On another matter, I've heard some good news about Jack Murtha on Michelle Malkin's blog site. That Murtha Mutt might not get redeployed if Bill Russell keeps his momentum up! Put Murtha into the dog house, or the moonbat cave! Destroy the keys while you're at it! Ha Ha!
