Flood Barracades

This is a huge pet peeve of mine.  There is a huge sign that tells drivers NOT to drive through the water.  SOME people think they are above all rules and attempt to drive through the water anyway.  Then they have to be rescued.  Remember the fire fighter who DIED helping people who drove around a barracade!? 

I think anyone who has to be rescued due to IGNORING POSTED BARRACADES should be HEAVILY fined and have to do some sort of community service.  It may not seem like a big deal to alot of people, but please remember that reckless people who avoid posted warnings not only put THEMSELVES in danger--but also put their rescuers in jeopardy.

It's plain stupidity!

In the winter up here in New Hampshire, there is a law that if you get lost on an unmarked trail and the state has to rescue you, then you have to pay the cost of rescuing you.

A few years back, a firefighter drowned helping two people who ignored a barracade. My daughter is a firefighter, and this sort of thing really gets me mad.
New Hampshire has the right idea, but what IS the cost of a rescue, if your rescuer dies in the process.

gyro,u are so rite,what is the cost of a life? i heard about that one a couple of years ago,i dont know how thease people could live with themselves,knowing that someone risk their life and died in the process trying to save them,cuz they ingored a safety alert or barcarde

please notice most of the people who attempt this are driving pickup trucks....we urban dwellers seldomly come face to face with illiteracy.....but its a common fact in rural communities...these people simply cant read the postings....after society spends over 50 thousand dollars to educate them...they cant read a warning sign...so to make up for this failure society pulls their bacon out of the fire....its only fair

no one chooses to be ignorant...the fact that mom and dad were originally brother and sister determined that long before any choice would have been conceivable....

and a few years back rush limbaugh made a decent living out of telling stories about such a firefighter.....go figure....if you can see life as a beautiful christian experience...why not....the way you view life is the way others view you...dont see it as an ugly morass...or you ll grow old like my mom

no ur rite,but having shows on "sister marry brother" um mom sleeping with daughter boyfriend, etc... was oh don't foget cousin;s marrying each other,cua they are in "love" although i guess it can happen in real life one of my x friends mother married her second x husband,and one of my other friends uncle is her stepdad too
