as i stumbled through the forest ,

not knowing which way i should turn-

 my mind started to wander,

 my insecurities started to burn.

i saw no sunshine through the trees,

no sound did reach my ear -

i felt so all alone in this world,

 alone, sad, and in fear.

then i heard a gentle rythm,

looked around to discover the source-

 there standing next to me,

 was a beautiful white horse.

it calmed me with it's presence,

 it's eyes, soulful and true-

i knew the moment i saw it,

 it would carry me through.

into the future on my white steed,

leaving sorrow in the distant past-

the sunshine opens up before me,

leaving darkness behind at last .

LOL dprin

I'm trying to get back in the swing of writing. I'm putting them all in a handmade book, so someday they will be passed down to future generations of my family.

Thank you for the compliment.

Ladies and gentlemen, we some analysis of these poems. Yes, they sound great. But why? It's art and the artist is telling us something. So commenters, what does it mean to you? What it means to me: We need someone to take care of us and ride us to a better place.

Interesting thoughts sofa. When I wrote this it was to balance out my Black Horse poem. The white horse does not, to me, represent a person or any other living being. It represents hope in our dark hours. Thank you for your comment. You are right, it is art and I am trying to say something. But the true, personal meaning in my words will probably never be fully understood, or interpreted as I feel them. I put these out there for others to enjoy, and form their own mental picture. Thanks again.

good point there sofa king, i was impressed along the same line.

actually, I interpreted it as a simile for the peace that comes over one when God is with them.......and they with him.

beautiful!

each one of us has personal & deep feelings, needs- we're the same but each to their own- we will all benefit from this poem according to our own needs and personal feelings for we each travel the same path yet in different ways and times. this poem has something for every one.
it's enchanting

beautiful poem gyro...VERY thought provoking and yes, artful
the lines "i knew the moment i saw it, it would carry me through" put a pic in my mind of the Holy Spirit...giving strenth to one during a "storm" in one's life
God has indeed blessed you with a gift gyro my friend

I am a homemaker. I hope to start breeding goats in the spring. I have 2 alpines, 1 nigerian dwarf, 1 pygmy, and on mix goat. My children are grown, so now my goats are my "kids".
