girlscout's Blog

I have been getting depressed lately by a lot of comments on these blogs. No wonder the world can't work out it's problems, when we can't even agree on any subject  in this forum. I know this is simplifying the mammoth problem our world seems to have, but in the Spirit of the Holiday Season (no matter what you do or don't believe), I'm going to make one step towards World Peace and say something nice about EVERYONE. Ellak and I already started this on a blog written by Hybrid, so I thought I would just expand on it.

Obviously I don't know any of you personally, but I will do my best.

Ellak - A wonderful husband and father who defends his family like a Knight in Shining Armor.

klh - A sweet, classy lady, who  is the "Peacemaker" of these blogs.

gorbash81 - The most intelligent young man I have ever met, who is passionate in his beliefs, and has the tenacity of a bulldog when it comes  to defending what he believes is right.

dprin - An open-minded conservative who is willing to listen to both sides.

rickyw - A stand-up comedian who ALWAYS makes me laugh!

hybridtalk - A man of strong religious conviction who's not afraid to defend his faith.

busdriverman - Loves his country and  stands up for it, right or wrong.

Pablo Kielbasa - Admits what he is and writes thought-provoking blogs.

polarbear - A young citizen who is concerned about the current problems facing our country , the injustices in the world, and  has more knowledge than some people twice his age.

quarryshark -  A great debater with a subtle sense of humor and a beautiful horse.

theshadowknows -  A man of strong ideals who stands by his view of the world.

Hittokiri - a unique person who marches to the beat of a different drummer . Doesn't follow the crowd.

jclguru - Another comedian who uses sarcasm in the funniest way  by pointing out the absurdity of some blogs and comments.

rmarkle - A woman who loves Winter, camping and the great outdoors. A Girl Scout after my own heart.

redwolf - Lover of the Earth, in tune with nature and the natural world around us, Does not tolerate stupidity.

erock - A common sense kind-of-guy, who weighs both sides of an issue before making an informed opinion. Has a great avatar (It's from my favorite Christmas movie).

huntermorrison - A fun-loving gentleman who has a many-faceted personality and always surprises me with the unexpected comments he makes.

CAKHomelodge - A true animal lover who would take in any creature in need, feed it, and love it with all her heart.

schannel - She is honest, not afraid to speak her mind and puts together a great Halloween costume.

Now - I am sorry if I left anyone out. Let  me know if I did and I will be glad to say something nice about you!  I only wrote about bloggers that I have interracted with on numerous occasions. If you only blog once in awhile, I felt that I did not know you enough to determine what is nice about you.

This was really cathartic - you should all try it. Even though some bloggers and I are polar opposites on many issues, I like to think that there is some good in all of us!

     HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I think that you mean well with this post. Good luck with this.

All that matters is getting policy changed- there isn't enough time to convince everyone and make nice with everyone.

We don't have enough time.
There is NOT enough time.
We are running out of time.

We need drastic radical change NOW before it is too late! Energy policy, Environmental policy, Foreign policy, Health Care, Education- these things need changed immediately and we cannot be distracted with trying to be friends with people who block that much needed change.

Well, thank you gorbash for not chewing me out too much. Yes, change needs to happen and I am wise enough to know that everyone here in this forum is not my friend. I just needed a moment of love to get me through all the [...] that goes on here. We each have our own ways of coping. This was mine.

Thank you girlscout. This was a wonderful idea to point out the good that people have. We may not all agree on ideas but I really liked what you put together. It was very thoughtful and meaningful. Thank you again.

like I said rickyw - there's a little bit of good in everyone. After the New Year we can go back to hating each other!

Girlscout,

I just happened to come across a comment you made on Freezer's blog, then I clicked onto your writer's icon. What is life like out in Cleveland? I've been on the West Coast for my life, so I am curious.

Cheers!

Why, thank you for including me!

I don't post that much on here - I have a few other O/L communities that I've been on since '99 which take most of what time I allow myself for such things.
And I'm very busy with my photography and music/photoart projects this season.

Cheers!

mystere - Life in Cleveland is very interesting! We have lots of cold and snowy weather (which I love). We have the Browns, The Indians and the Cavs. We have the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The Cleveland Orchestra, Playhouse Square (the 2nd largest theater district in the country, after New York City), hundreds of miles of the greatest Metro Park system, Lake Erie (lots of fresh water - something you Westerners would kill for!). Not saying we don't have a lot of problems, as every "rust belt" city in the East has, but it's my town and I love it.

LIFE is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out and proclaiming, "WOW - WHAT A RIDE"!!!!!
