I'm sorry to say that my quitting smoking was a complete failure! I lasted about two weeks. But I have gotten that new prescrition Chantix. I'll be trying it again starting Monday. I can't believe something this dumb has got me hooked so bad. But I'm going to keep trying until I get it right!

klh, don't give up--keep trying, something will work. I can't tell you the number of times I tried to quit and the thing that finally worked for me was cold turkey. I'm not saying that method is right for everyone, you need to find the way that works for you. Quitting was the hardest thing I've ever done, but well worth it.

Just don't give up, keep trying.

Thank you Pixie for the encouragement. I know I'll do it eventually. I just don't understand how something like this can keep a hold on me. Very upsetting. The two weeks I did quit I started feeling better. But Starting Mon. I'll be doing it again.

I will be PRAYING it works!!! My Dad said he still craves right after he eats & he has not had on in over 12 years. Please let me know how it is going. I am living this one threw you!

Well, I don't crave one anymore, unless I'm drinking and I'm with my girlfriend who is smoking. doesn't happen all the time, just once in a while the cigarette smells inviting.
But don't dwell on that klh, the positive things that happen to your body are well worth that occasional wanting one.

It does have a hold on you. The tobacco companies want it that way. Nicotine is very addictive and I've been told it's easier to kick heroine than nicotine. Just keep trying and don't beat yourself up for failing--it's just a matter of time that you find something that works for you. I have a friend that quit & it has now been almost 6 months since she's had a smoke. Don't give up, try this new thing starting Monday. If it doesn't work, try something else.
