So I've been blogging for a few months already.  And now we have this feature that shows the latest blogs, who's blogging now, etc.  Technology moving at an unbelievable pace.

Soon we'll be doing more reports on the web as well.  Which got me thinking.... how many of you actually tune into websites and watch news from your desks or laptops?  Will streaming live news on the internet ever be bigger than live t.v.?  Think of all the images we've seen unfold on live.... Man's first walk on the moon, 9-11, Shuttle disasters, natural disasters, Royal weddings, Presidential funerals, courtroom verdicts...  Pictures, sounds, commentary.

What does all of this technology mean for the future role of network and local television?

 Times are a changin..

Internet is where it's at...and the print media is suffering because of it.

on 9-11, i was awake early and was online chatting with a friend who lives in china. as the news about the first airplane hitting the WTC was broadcast here in L.A. I was describing in text for her. I turned on my webcam and connected the video out from my tv to the cam video input. she and her husband were watching streaming images from NYC forty minutes before any news was broadcast in her city. of course internet streaming is going to be popular! which global media organizations are focused on reaching the global audience?

I rely more and more on the 'net to get my world/national/local news. I can multi-task better off a computer. Radio only gives me audio and TV news feeds me information one item at a time that I typically do not find beneficial (i.e. I'm sympathetic to the mail carrier who was mauled by a dog. But why must that be the top news story and then bury international/national news about Iraq 8 minutes later?).

i'm always gonna enjoy watching the news on tv. that's never gonna change. the stories you guys report on are always interesting to me. the only time i check the internet for news stories is on things you don't normally report on, like anything that deals with wrestling, u.f.c. or music that i'm into that isn't mainstream.

so far my summer has rocked bobby. mostly been going to alot of concerts. i saw heart play with the bangels, the 69 eyes, poison, gonna see marilyn manson with slayer, and looking forward to seeing def leppard, the bravery, and arch enemy. so that is what i have done and have planned for summer.
