I am around schools everyday of the week, and have noticed youngboys with tatoos, on their arms and necks.
I am presuming parents are allowing these kids to get these tatoos, because, you have to have parent's consent to get a tot if you are underage.
What I am wondering is why a parent would let an underage child get a tatoo, and are the rules at schools allowing these?

Vague allegations of racism in and around Dallas City Hall have turned into very pointed personal attacks questioning the racial intent of individuals.
The controversy swirls around one four-letter word used by a planning commissioner during the debate over whether to rename Ross Avenue for Cesar Chavez.
Last week, city planning commissioner Neil Emmons said, "I, speaking only for myself, believe there are dark racist forces in this building."
On Wednesday, a Dallas resident who addressed the council said something similar: "I am here to ask this city council to help us dissipate this dark cloud of racism."
The use of the word "dark" twice in one week was too much for Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway.

I was just looking at some of the balloons from the Plano balloon fest, and remembering the beautiful mornings, when Mesquite had a balloon fest. The early mornings, listening to the ballons heat up and fill with hot air. The colors that filled the air like a rainbow explosion. How sad we don't have that anymore.
We also don't have the fireworks show anymore.
Now we have a bike ride, and the Real Texas festival. People come from all over to see those, or do they?
I have heard rumors that the rodeo will go by the wayside as well, but that seemed to go downhill as soon as they enclosed it, and the real cowboys went elsewhere.
Sad all these things have been let go.

Former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and a popular disc jockey were critically injured in a Learjet crash in South Carolina that killed four people, authorities said Saturday.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks. The plane went off a runway and crashed on a nearby road, she said.
Hospital spokeswoman Beth Frits said Barker and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, were in critical condition at a burn center in Augusta, Ga., about 75 miles southwest of Columbia.

I was talking to a woman at work today, about the canidates.
She said that Sarah Paulin should not be elected, as she had children, and if her baby got sick, she would go into "Mommy Mode" and not be able to run the country.
I had to bite my tongue, and then reminded her that Sarah was Govenor of Alaska, and had kids, and that baby while in office.
I also reminded her that Hillary had a daughter and was voted into office.
I am still reeling over the thought of "Mommy Mode"

I was raised Catholic, and never in my many years did I ever use a rosary for a necklace.
They are prayer beads, used for prayer and meditation. They are not necklaces.
Those worn as necklaces, are gang symbols, and if parents don't know they have their heads in the sand. How many of these kids wearing rosarys, as neckaces, are Catholic?
I am not sure, when this became the in gang symbol, or part of the package, but kids started coming in my store wearing them, I would ask them if they knew what the rosary was, were they Catholic? Most would say no to each question, so I asked them to please respect my faith, and place them inside their shirts, when in my store. Tehy did that, and as long as they respected me, I respected them.

Again on the news, evacuees from the hurricane, staying at hotels. This time in Las Colinas. I can barely afford to drive through Las Colinas!
Are these hotels set up for evacuees? Are they told to go to these hotels and spend their money ? Does FEMA tell them to go there and they will be paid back?
Do they stay in them until all their money is gone(so they say) and then surprise the hotel management, saying the Fema will pay for them?
I would love to so understand, when FREE transport, and FREE shelters are set up, why do people still want to get over?
Why is this allowed?

I was just watching a news segment from Houston.
A reporter interviewing a woman, that has one small child in her car, and a baby in her arms. Residents have been told to stay home, if they are there, because of the flooded streets, and Yet she says, she has been out drving all over town looking for gas, though reporters have said that, most stations, are out of gas, or have no power to pump gas. Now why would you just drive aimlessly around, looking for gas(wasting gas as you do), and then say you need help! that it is an emergency! This person ,didn't say she had to get the baby or other child to the doctor , or that she was ill. If it was an emergency, wouldn't you call 911, instead of wasting Your gas?
Then you have the people that were told to leave, decided to stay, then do call 911, during the storm, looking for help. DUH!
Please people, use your brains, and think ahead, prepare the best you can.
Or maybe it is easier to think you can get free help.

I've been offline for a bit because of a small redo, on my puter, and High school football.
The big news right now are the Hurricanes. thanks for the news coverage, although sometimes a bit much, but there is always PBS and Discovery channels.
Hurricanes wern't much in my life until we moved to Florida(Pensacola). Then we would start tracking them , and their predicated landfalls. Most people had enough sense to move from the beaches, and onto higher ground.
My family always had the saying that if you lived below sea level, or in flood plains, Mother nature might smack Your behind.
Growing up in tornado alley, we knew where to find shelter and took it when the sirens sounded.
Thank goodness, most people listened, and moved away from the coasts, except for the dingdongs that had hurricane partys, and think little of their lives, and those that might have to rescue them.
Now I am watching idiots walking around downtown Houston, where there is still danger of glass falling from large buildings.Police having to tell people to stay in shelter. DUH!
Ya'll have a good day, I need to see if my dogs are wet or been blown away during their potty break.

Having worked for a comvience store chain , for 12 years, in management, these robberys, and killings, really bother me. I have had a gun in my face.
The ideas that the Dallas police have come up with are wonderful, and should have been in place long ago, by any convience store.
I also think the penalties, for these robberys should be more than what they are.
I spoke out, for years, for night time pay windows, at all our 24 hr stores, and also 2 employees on staff, on each shift.
I still live very close to one of the stores I managed, and am always, watching out for the employees there.
----------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
------------
I think all ATMS should be placed in the back of the stores, and emptied at night.
All convience stores open 24 hours should have a pay thru window, with bullet proof glass at that window.
Cameras should be everywhere, inside and outside, at the pumps, which many of the stores, I know of don't have.
The panic buttons are good, but there should be a direct connection to the police in whatever city the store is in.
I also think that hoodies, sunglasses, and back packs should be removed, like many of the banks have now.
All our employees went thru training for what to do during a robbery. The biggest point made, was do not leave the store. If someone takes you at gunpoint they will more than likely kill you, after leaving the store. It is a sad fact.
I also tried to make my employees understand that, what was in the store wasn't worth their life, let the culprits have what they want.
Even with all these things in place, you still have the thugs that just don't care.
Most of all if You are a regular customer, watch out for the people that serve you.

I drive by the swap met on 175, going towards Seagoville, and everday I do , I wonder about the animals that are sold there. Does the state ever check for health certificates, and or permits for selling the animals there? Back during the 100 plus weather, there were animals in many trailers, all over the property.
Goats, birds, chickens, etc.
Also the food vendors. Does anyone ever check to see if they have healthe certificates, and permits?
I never go there anymore, since the last time I went, it looked as if most the products sold there had been taken under ummm less than legal circumstances, since whenever, I asked for a receipt, or asked where the products came from, no one could answer me.

Another [...] fighting ring was broken up, the other day, near Corsicana, just a few miles from Dallas.
Many birds were confiscated, people arressted and given citations, which are like getting aspeeding ticket.
Some of the owners of the property and a few others caught, fighting their birds might be indited on animal cruelty charges, but the sentances are light weight, because of the laws.
It is not unlawful to own, train, and breed these birds, which are used only for fighting. The only criminal part is the fighting itself.
I would think laws should be passed making it illegal to breed, and own, and train, these birds, it would help stop the blood sport.
I can't understand the reasoning of dogfighting, cockfighting , and bull fighting, where, the animal dies a cruel death. The only reason for these blood sports, is to make money. The animals have no choice.
I know of one breeding farm, for cocks right out at Stark road, Dallas county near Seogoville. There are rows and rows of little huts set up for the birds, and it makes me sick, that nothing can be done because the guy just breeds and sells the birds, knowing where they will end up.
The same for the Pit bull dogs that are breed for the same reason.
Seems the legislature could do something more

PLEASE!!!
IF You are at a gas station, and You have some meth head walking around saying they need money for gas/food/ and anything else they come up with. Instead of giving them money, tell them You can call the police to come help them out.
These people are out there ,knowing when management is not around, and use their stories to rip off good natured people.
I was just at a station, and these 3 people were asking person after person for money, I asked the new clerk if she knew they were out there , she said that they had been out there, that one woman actually put 30 dollars in gas on her card for them, and they were still asking for money. when I went back to my truck to put my gas in, I told the woman , who was coming to ask me for money, that they had called the police, Amazing how fast they left, and left their so called friend. He was telling people he needed money for food.
Nothing makes me mader than to have -panhandlers begging for money, and to know people actually give their hard earned money to them.
Do good for them ,and call the police that can send them to social services, if You are that worried about them. don't let these people get over on you.
