Jennaphr’s blog got me thinking about different things that we can leave to our children.  (Or if you have no children, perhaps leave to those who are close to us.)

One of the things that I have done consistently since my daughter was born almost 27 years ago is to keep a journal.  And every birthday, I have written about her.  I write about things she did, liked, didn’t like, experiences she had at that age, things we did as a family, a wealth of info that I hope she will appreciate some day.  I have often looked back at those writings, and I am so glad I have done that, because they jog my memory and I am blessed.  I am hopeful that as she reads them some day, they will jog her memory also.  Although she is married now and expecting her first child this July 5, I still write on her birthday.
