As I was watching the show this morning, I found Jillian's response to the Brittney Spears portion of the show interesting. I agree that O.J Simpson should not have been granted custody of his children he had with Niccole, his victim. He wasn't found guilty in the criminal court but he was found so in the civilian case. If I'm using incorrect terminology, I apologize. As well as the other case mentioned. However, if we look at Brittney Spears case, one could argue that the other two cases didn't involve violence against the children. Therefore, one could conclude that the children would not be in danger in the custody of said parent. But in the Spears case, her children were in danger. If the alleged drug use in front of the children did occur, the children WERE in danger. She was involved in a hit and run which if it were her fault, and I think we can safely assume she was otherwise, why flee? If she was driving recklessly then her children would be in danger if they were in the care with her. If her children were so important to her, why not follow every letter of the judges order?
Jillian, do not allow your going "ga-ga" over celebrities cloud your judgement. You have a daughter now. Would you want Spears to babysit Ruby if she were taking drugs while caring for her? I don't think so.
I do feel sorry for Spears. She is young and with major problems. She needs serious help. I hope she gets it. Maybe the court order will wake her up and seeks the help she needs. It's not a permanent order. All she has to do is put her children first and make healthy changes to her life and she'll get them back.
To conclude, you can't compare the Spears case with the O.J Simpson case because his children were not in danger from O.J but Spear's sons were endangered by Spears.
