Hate to see People die but most Are STUPID. THe storms deaths usually happen from things unrelated. Some Idiot (bless their soul) dies after ignoring Police about swimming in the storm waters at the beach.
Another idiot runs his generator in the home and dying of carbon monoxide. ANd how many people electrocuted or burned not knowing how to plug in appliances.
It is like the numerous fire deaths in the first cold snap when people die of heaters or propane tanks. The deaths in Haiti was from a bus taking a chance crossing a raging river.....ahhhhh
You cant educate everyone, and between common sence and the news reports warning of this... people still die. Maybe Gods way to filter.

I know the damage with this storm is the slow movement but what will happen with street drainage, other flooding if a Cat 2-3 hits. I dont think the construction on the coast is ready. Of course in Houston a few years ago massive floods with a Tropical storm too, but Houston AND Central Florida hasnt had the Big one for a while.
Getting hairy in Daytona gusts of winds that make me jump. Rain is so so .. I had to lower the pool once so far.
I was heading to LA last night but held off. Too windy for me. AND WHAT ARE THE SEMINOLE SCHOOLS AND ORANGE COUNTY SCHOOLS OPEN with kids at Bus Stands. Didnt they hear the Storm is moving west.? Good golly.

Thanks to all of you, from Webguys and Gals, to Reporters to Photogs to behind the scene folks, and Management. Great job on this Storm. Lucky dodged a bullet in Daytona, but thanks for the heads up and community notifications on schools, government, etc
I just pray that this passes Brevard and areas west and South of there. I just pray that nothing over Cat 1 ever hits our area anytime soon... it would be a mess of Andrew and Katrina proportion.
Great job to all of you.

I will take this anyday...actually slept the entire day.. must have been overworked and underloved and exhausted. A feeder rain 10 am this AM but after that nothing at all in rain... little drizzle but the wind is really cool.. just a Hawaii type breeze. I like that.
Thank the Lord for us. But it looks like Brevard and south counties getting hammered with rain. I just want this rain to head to Georgia, South Carolina, Ala to cure that drought. I dont want it to head back over Florida via I-10 and then into the Gulf.
But maybe a nice dress rehersal for new Florida residents who werent here in 2004.
Sure Hope the folks in Brevard and Counties east and south are OK

My prediction of Obama VP will be Indiana Senator Bayh. He made the TV talk show circut this weekend as a test for Obama. He is actually too nice to be on the ticket. I got to hear this guy lie and spin for Obama now like Liebermann did for Gore. I have never forgiven Liebermann for his Turncoat lies and spin for the sake of power.
Obama-Bayh.... sounds good... but I like Bye Bye OBAMA

After getting Charlie in 2004 and the others, I remember. THe most important thing I have is a Generator with plenty of gas. Also I am glad Gov Bush made a law that mandates Gas Stations to have emergency generator. In 2004, very few Gas stations were able to pump the gas, and with Generators running for 6 days I went through 8 large 5 gallon containers.
I hooked up that home generator to power my refigerator and a small Air Condtioner and room with a PC. But in Charlie even Brighthouse lost cable service for days too.
THe problem then was trees knocking out power and with 2nd and 3rd storm that year, the loss of electric was less. I JUST HATE LOSING ELECTRIC.
My other house has a super duper Natural Gas powered complete home generator but I need to be at the smaller house on this one.
I have the Flash lights and the batterys and the water.... If I SEE LINEs of people needing WATER I will scream. After Katrina, there is no excuse except for Stuck on Stupid preparation.

The Chinese really was destroying the US National Anthem. I think they fixed it. The part where the anthem goes....And the "rockets read glare" almost sounded Disney type. Looks like they fixed it last night when the Girls won Gold and Silver in Gymnastics. NOPE it is still busted with Phelps. Maybe they just dont have it yet down.
