One of our basic freedoms is that of free speech. While I may not like what you say, and you may not like what I say, we are entitled to state our relative opinions publicly. So imagine this, it seems that Google has decided to weigh in by allowing an organized effort to shut down websites that oppose Barak Obama. Now granted, I don't think websites that slander or spread spam should be allowed to function, but there are people out here, like ME, who don't think this man is ready for the White House and I will continue to bring up the various doubts about his qualifications along with some of the other questionable candidates we are offered this year. People, you should be VERY ALARMED about this because this means that you are getting filtered news. And filtered news could be arranged to make sure you only see one point of view.

One that is still up (at least the last time I checked) is

http://slickbarry.com/

If this is happening today, even before he is nominated, much less elected, can you imagine what he will do if he ever gets in the oval office?

You know there what you say has been going on for some time now and always will continue. They will always filter the true. The things that you see and hear is always edited and filter and rearranged for profit and ratings and nothing more. The real true is never told up front. The actual facts are always held back. They will tell you what they want you to know.

I don't like McCain as he isn't a true conservative but he is more right on more issues than Obama can even think about.

Obama is a typical leftist - people can't be trusted to do what they should so the government should make decisions for the people.

Oh, and just an observation - I don't notice any Obama supporters arguing on this one.

I found that odd as well. Even on the other websites, the majority of the posts were very pointed on the idea of "this should not happen". What is also odd is that virtually none of this is in the mainstream news, although it was a pretty big deal. Likewise, the way that operatives seem to be getting orders from a central command makes me concerned as well. I see the fine hand of Soros and Moveon.org.

we already "only" get filtered news. No one I have talked to would even consider voting for obama..... so who is voting for him?

I haven't talked to any voting for the Big O either. Wonder who these ppl are?!! Is this the beginning of the return of the (un)fair doctrine?

Are they going to shut down the McCain hating websites?
St. Peter is at the Pearly Gates checking up on the people waiting to enter Heaven.

He asks the next one in line, "So, who are you, and what did you do on Earth?"

The fellow says, "I'm Barack Hussein Obama, and I was the first black to be elected President of the United States "

St. Peter says, "The U.S.? A black President? You gotta be kidding me! When did this happen?"

Obama says, "About twenty minutes ago."

I don't know why people are getting all bent out of shape about this. It appears that Google (BlogSpot) has a way for people to report sites as being 'spam'. Either that, or they are all linking back into each other. Regardless, if enough people (Obama supporters?) submitted to google that the site was spam or objectionable content, they might have suspended the account.

Shoot it could have been McCain Supporters just trying to make some news and sabotageing their own sites to make a story. Get a grip people, you complain when there is too much spam, then you complain when someone reports something incorrectly as spam.

But the thing is, it wasn't spam. And it was specifically the websites that were Clinton supporters and that makes it censorship. There are people within the Democrat party that see nothing wrong with doing anything necessary to impact the election the way they want. They don't care about facts, they don't care about other people's views, all they care about is ideology. And that worries me.

I am a teacher, a mother and wife and I like to think I am a pretty good citizen. I read ALOT. I also write a good deal on various blogs. I appreciate a chance to respond to what we see in the news. I think that by posting our opinions we can probably find that everyone is more alike than we are willing to admit. Face it, people just like to argue. I would also like to say how much I appreciate having a forum for my views.
