The common excuse for allowing illegal immigrants to come here and work without documentation, or using someone else's, was that nobody would fill the jobs. Well folks, unemployment is rising, especially among young people. How are they supposed to get jobs to move up in the world, if someone here illegally is holding that job? How are they supposed to pay for tuition for college if they can't find work. So I think that all those who came here for work, can go home now. Reform your own nation.

No can do. Now you have Mexican illegals hiring Mexican [...] to do jobs the Mexican illegals wont do, our kids don’t have a chance.

Illegal immigration is the modern equivalent of slavery. Where else do we fill jobs making substandard wages? We don't, because US citizens don't do the "migratory" work, or the menial work, or lawnmowing...

Slavery? Oh yes. Where else would you hire someone for less than minimum wage in order to do some of the hardest work? Welcome to the "freedom states" of America, where you are assured of having a job even (or especially) if you lack valid ID.

One of my students, who is Hispanic, told me that her employer specifically hires only Hispanics. Now I ask you, if an employer specifically only hired Anglos, or African Americans or whatever and refused to even entertain the idea of diversity, wouldn't someone be there to hold them to the rules? Yet the local hamburger franchise only has Hispanics on staff. And I know tons of kids that would work those jobs.

There is a young man that works where I do through a contracting company. His family is here legally, he was born here. He hates what is going on with the illegals and what they do. So, he told me that his supervisor is here legally (has papers not born here)and only hires mexicans. He tells these men, friends of his or friends of friends, where to go and get fake socials and IDs and then come back and he gives them a job. This kid also told me that the company they were hired as contractors for, found out that some of the men were illegal and sent them off the job site. Well, he fired the ones that were here legally to keep the illegal ones on because they get paid less. Not only that, this man also started his own company under another name and underbids against the company he works to beat them out on the jobs.

How and who do you report this to? What can be done to prove this? This is the kind of crap that stupid employers let them get away with because they trust them too much. This man has been reported but, not released from his job.

Does anyone have any answers to this?????

It seems that if these people are hiring only hispanics that they are to blame. If they stop hiring them then the "problem" is partially solved. it's a supply demand issue. The supply is not there unless there is demand. Does anybody have a good understanding of globalization and how it works? Just wondering.

TBB, if his employer hires only hispanics & others apply, that's the type of racism that needs to be turned into the fed. gov. for investigation. Hope you got their name for a complaint! But if you notice, this type of 'hiring' goes on IN & with a lot of minority businesses and no one says a word. A lot of 'minorities' can be& are treated like they're stupid & incompetent by being protected from laws, as if they're felt sorry for. What an insult that should be!

BS!!! Have you hired any lately? The going rate right now for the cheapest is $10 an hour. That's much higher than minimum wage. Add to it, they demand a two hour break in the afternoon for a nap. Plus, they demand that you pick up their lunch. Don't believe me? Go to the local illegal pick up area and ask.

The reason companies hire them is you don't have to pay or offer them insurance, workers comp, vacation, sick leave, or vacation pay.

Tru, you can expect Mr Leftist, aka, Gurkha to invade your blog with his ranting, cursing and threats...oh, about late afternoon.

With regard to your statement, I agree. Now if we can only kid these job seeking youths out of the house and off their cell phones for 4-8 hours a day we may have something!

Bing! Bing! you hit it on the head there scotty. If mom and dad keep paying for everything, they won't want a job anyway.

TEXASTRUBLU,

NONE of YOU or your CHILDREN would do the jobs those people do...They are not taking your jobs...I want to see you kids mowing 10 yards a day in 110* heat or working 16 hours a day in a hotel dishwashing room, or pouring concrete from 5a-7pm...Your feelings of anger towards immigrants are not supported by any facts, just hatred. I mean if you are wanting to discuss social issues and solutions, please, please, please know what you are talking about.

Phrank, you made my point nicely.

The reason companies hire them is you don't have to pay or offer them insurance, workers comp, vacation, sick leave, or vacation pay.

Not to mention SS. Thus, slavery.

I don't hire illegals. As for lawnmowing, I do my own, thank you. It takes an hour and being outside (even in the heat) ain't gonna kill you. It does, however, take time away from the golf course...

tha sounds good, except it is illegl, and there is unintended consequenses as a friend of mine found out on His job, He was a concrete pump operator , working for a guy that had 95% illegals working for Him , He got hurt on the job, and found out His employer turned Him in as an $8 an hour employees working less than 45 hours aweek, , when actually He was making $25 to $35 an hour and working 70 t0 80 hours aweek , , it took Him almost 2 years to get it straightened out with state industrial ins, so, hiring the illegals the guy was doing other things illegal, too, probably wasn't reporting their income or anything , I sincerely hope that employer ends up in prison over it , incidentally in their quest to hide His injury, they tried to cover it up, and as a result the care he got was substandard, and He will be lucky if He doesn't lose His leg over it , in repairing His broken leg and hip they cut a main artery , to his hip and leg, and now His leg and hip are dying, what a great deal illegal labor is , I think NOT!!

Dear Jesusisking-All of my kids work fastfood and they make the same wages as anyone else. My son has worked the seven to three a.m. shift. They have mopped floors, cleaned bathrooms, emptied trash and entertained bratty children. So do NOT tell me that my kids wouldn't do those jobs, because the have done them and continue to do so!
Oh and BTW, when their shifts are short because someone gets picked up by INS or their SSN don't match, my kids are the ones who end up working overtime. So back off unless you know the score.

TTB,
I made a similar comment last year regarding jobs that my teens had to compete for. i was flamed for it because of the illegal sympathy. they were saying things like my kids wouldn't do the work, or that job was beneath them to do so why take it from the poor mexicans etc. i thought B.S.! kids should have jobs. there is nothing in the world wrong with it.
when i was a young girl, i mowed lawns...YES, IN THE SUMMERTIME..in the 100+ degrees. and back then, i didn't have a company to drive me and my ride own and self propelled lawn mowers around from house to house. i pushed that pushmower all over my neighborhood and knocked on doors. that's how i paid for things that i wanted. ...so, JESUSISKING, DON'T PRESUME TO TELL ANY OF US WHAT WE WOULD OR WOULD NOT DO! SHAME ON YOU!

I am a teacher, a mother and wife and I like to think I am a pretty good citizen. I read ALOT. I also write a good deal on various blogs. I appreciate a chance to respond to what we see in the news. I think that by posting our opinions we can probably find that everyone is more alike than we are willing to admit. Face it, people just like to argue. I would also like to say how much I appreciate having a forum for my views.
