Having Carlos Amezcua on Good Day LA was like watching Larry King interview Dick Cheney...walking on eggshells.

Bland flat and not interesting

weird having carlos on GoodDay today? it was friggin' awkward for me as a viewer. i'm observing jillian and steve while thinking everyone who works on-air at ch 11 has to love you carlos. here's what irks me as a viewer--i saw Tony McEwing presenting the 10 o'clock news last week. Tony was mellow and a delight to hear. He was not cramming the news into my ears. and i'm thinking why the fyck didn't Tony get he job? and more the point, why not just rotate each of the reporters giving each a couple of nights in the hot seat each month? playboy does not show the same playmate each month. so here comes carlos, and it could have been anyone from 2,4,5 or 7 and he gets the front row. uggghhhh. too weird. dorothy can sit there and smile 'cause she used to work with carlos so her reaction does not apply.

hey Paul, you're playboy analogy doesn't work because Playboy is a monthly and ch 11 news is a daily. maybe you could say the LA Times doesn't put the same journalist's story on page 1 everyday, but that analogy doesn't work either. the LA Times analogy would be like giving Blatchford the lead story each night. Let's go with it isn't fair to the rest of the newsteam to bring a guy in from across the street. when Moyer went from ch 7 to ch 4 was he already 11 o'clock frontman at 7 ? Let's assume a committee made this decision. the members were trying to pick the one who who provided the biggest bang for net revenues at some level. Look at it this way, anyone who had been working with Kriski (whom i felt was a little boy since his first day in LA) has picked up bad habits. Carlos is likely to have been a bad choice for ch 11 but good luck to carlos. all the profits of ch 11 are depending on your bringing the ratings. just because i think you are a fat faced [...] does not mean you are doomed to fail. thumbs up carlos. for now (from the emperor's box).

Kapper, what is wrong with giving Blatchford the lead story each night? ok, look, i pickup playboy every night at 10PM. by the third night i am not excited by the centerfold. so instead of picking up playboy on the third night, i tune to ch 5 and guess what? no carlos! so every night i am tuning to ch 5. now you have your ch 11 women viewers who have been tuning in every night for years to see John Beard. He was their pseudo-husband. and bam-- Beard is gone. struck by lightning. so who do you get to excite you now? hah hah-- carlos! now realistically, how many women are going to get the same pleasure while carlos is the man of night? that's right. carlos is lacking sex appeal. hah hah-- the ch 11 formula for success is being shoved aside! well what will they think of next?

Amezcua is a legit journalist who was caught in 16 years of 'show me the ratings'. Same goes for Steve Edwards and Dorothy Lucy. Seriously,.. both Edwards and Lucy have to 'dummie down' as they are both well spoken, highly educated and well informed of current events. At times, Lucy will actually say some bright, intelligent commentary regarding current political events until that little voice in her ear (i.e. director) reminds her she's at the desk to look pretty and dispense gossip and not thought-provoking dialogue.

Edwards has been as good on TV as he was on radio. Whether or not I agree with his views (which he rarely shares), he needs to be cloned. He is great at his job.

Amezcua is a good fit. He brings credentials and just as important, he'll bring in the hispanic viewership.

Good Luck Carlos.. it will be nice to see a new face. Hope the switch from fake and sorrowful hummer from KTLA to serious journalism at FOX won't be that difficult. Either way Congrad's and see you tonight.

Carlos...well what can I say we watched you every morning on the OTHER station and now we will switch and watch you on this station...(I'm pretty tired of the other station time for a change.) Thats right Carlos you let them ...San Diego Chargers rule!! My dad use to work with them...have lots of good, funny stories about them! Well all the best to you and were GLAD your here!

Welcome Carlos, I have watched you before on the other channel and I think you will be a wonderful addition to Fox. Just do that thing you do so well and all will work out for you. Good Luck in your future. Peace...
