With economic pressures (liberals say we are in a Depression... liars) and Whitehouse and Senators approval rating at Historic Lows (2 Senators want a promotion... sick), and all the HELP from Liberal media (CNN, MSNBC, NBC, CBS, NewsWeek, LA Times, NY Times) OBAMA is still neck and neck with McCain.

Bush 41 was 17 points behind Liberal MAss Governor Dukakis and then Dukakis was trounced in a landslide in 1988.  Thanks the Lord.

Same with Obama.....  People are learning about his Ultra Liberal Version of the Bible, his flip flop on Campaign Financing ( I dont blame him but he shouldnt make speechs as early as late 2007 other wise), Creepy Friends, Creepy Senate votes (anti Troops, pro late term abortion).

I criticized McCain as not worthy of the Whitehouse due to his Amnesty, Campaign reform that hurts free speech, and 20 years of doing nothing .... like Kerry, Clinton, Obama, and the rest of the bums.   No way ANY Senator should be in the Whitehouse unless dazzleing us.

But with the polls so close and the fact that American voters are split in Red and Blue, the election will come down to Blues heading to McCain ( Reds wont go to Obama) and Independents going to McCain.    Obama getting the black vote per his skin, and the youth vote because of their lack of brains and life experience.... the same block John Kerry and Dukakis and Gore got.

At the same time, McCain better step it up.  Obama is horrible in Press conferences.  You just want to smack him on the head when he gets into his slow and slower talk pattern... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Obama President... you have got to be kidding me.

Wait- he is PRO-LATE TERM ABORTION??????????????? (I hadn't even read your post in its entirety, cause I agreed with you from the title)

OMG!!!!

OK, lets add that as the NUMBER ONE REASON WHY I DISLIKE OBAMA. (strongly. very strongly)

That is disgusting! I have said countless times, even though I am in favor of a woman's right to choose, I am without a doubt, adamantly, AGAINST late-term abortions! That is -without doubt- MURDER!

ugh. I knew there where many things I despised about him, but I never thought he was pro-late term abortion. My God, how does he even admit it? That's the same reason I disliked Bill Clinton. Does Hillary support late term abortion? As a matter of fact, WHO DOES?

I have no idea which way the election will go at this time. But I stand by my admonition that mixing religion with hard core politically incorrect rhetoric will continue to hurt the conservative fundie cause. Besides it amuses me that the king of political incorrectness who just passed away was a staunch atheist who many so called christians have chosen to emulate.

I love these posts. You have neither provided a single good reason McCain would win just said how McCain could win. Dukakis being 17 points ahead just means one cannot rely on polls and if you are so sure that McCain will get all the red vote then why do I hear so many Republicans who are voting for McCain? Why is Dobson so worried about McCain's base? If anything this election is definitely an election with Obama having an advantage. Listen to the Republican's own reelection committee. This is "the worst electoral climate for Reps. since 1974". Seriously if you left your ideology out of your analysis for a second you would realize what most rational political watchers see never mind political views.

Friends, I think your time would be better spent studying the Electoral College. National Polls told us a year ago that Hillary would be running against Giuliani today. PEACE! :-)

ectoral-map-two-states-shift-to-obama/

(CNN) — Two more states have shifted to Barack Obama's column in the new CNN Electoral Map that charts the candidates’ strength leading up to the November election.

"Toss-up" states Minnesota and Wisconsin were re-designated to "Lean-Obama" Friday, giving the presumptive Democratic nominee another 20 electoral votes in CNN's current estimate. The Illinois senator now has 231 electoral votes — 39 shy of winning the nomination.

CNN made the change after new polling conducted by Quinnipiac University showed that Obama holds double-digit leads over presumptive Republican nominee John McCain in both states. CNN's analysis estimates McCain has 194 electoral votes.

This is only a CNN estimate and is likely to change many more times in the lead up to the election.

The Quinnipiac surveys, released Thursday, showed Obama with a 17-point lead in Minnesota, 54-37 percent, and a 13 point lead in Wisconsin, 52-39 percent.

Is this true?

"...But the new generation of evangelicals is sick of being labeled as backward rednecks because of their association with fossils like Dobson. There are many evangelicals like Cizik too who are not all about homophobia, nationalism, war-without-end and American exceptionalism or the Republican Party. Like Cizik they believe that the America has a responsibility to do something about global warming, poverty, AIDS, human trafficking and other issues. They see through Dobson and the other so-called pro-life leaders, who have actually done nothing to reduce abortion. In fact Dobson has increased abortions because of his "abstinence only" crusade.

As a result of his power grabs and bullying of other evangelicals, not to mention his telling people how to vote and pointing them to the failed W, Dobson & Co. have zero credibility with a growing number of otherwise conservative evangelicals who happen--this year--to be looking favorably at Senator Obama's holistic Christian-based world view. Unlike Dobson they like Obama's theology just fine.

All that was missing to put the frosting on the Obama cake was for Dobson to attack him. For Obama to win all he needs to do is peel off a chunk of heretofore solid evangelical Republican votes. Dobson just handed Obama those votes.

You know what "Truth" Guy - I'd love to get your thoughts on this, considering you enjoy throwing our Hitler accusations at those who disagree with you. If you want to have a serious debate on the history of Facism buddy, let's do it.

Jay,
keep up the good work, you are one of the few here who cites their references.
Truthguy, you come across as more of an angryguy, but this time you provided us with information from a Gallup poll.

Question:
Why are the Republicans always in attack mode?
Answer:
Desperate times call for desperate measures.

And uh . . . I'll be the first to say this is hypocritical but, holy schnieky Truthguy! Step back and take a look at your bio and the "these are all the chicks I totally wanna hook-up with" photo gallery. If I do the math correctly, you are waaaaaayyyyyyy too old to still be putting pictures up of "hot chicks".
AND,
are you here to get laid, because the first thing women usually look for in a man is a photo gallery of all the girls you have fantasized about.
Yikes.

The only way the Republicans will win again is the same way Bush won in Florida in 2000 and Ohio in 2004. By fixing the vote! If the election is legal, Obama will win! Anything else you do that you call thinking, or deductive reasoning, or logic will be nothing more than mental masturbation!

To Jay Kumar: THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO! EXCELLENT. It is too bad that Noam Chomsky gets sidelined to the fringe left, and does not get anywhere near the airtime on the mainstream media that he deserves. He is by far the most observant and intelligent of speakers/writers we have. Democracy Now doesn't even present him enough. After the recent revelations about how the government (Bush Admin) used retired generals who were on the payroll of major defense contractors to be "talking heads" to convince the public of the "legitimacy" of invading Iraq, and these same biased talking heads are still used by Fox and other mainstream broadcast stations, one can see that a divergence of opinion is being denied, just as Chomsky said in "The Manufacture Of Consent."

I wonder sometimes about the incredible hatred towards Senator Obama and wonder if it just boils down to a deep conscious or subconscious fear of a Black man as President and will he have "Payback" tendencies towards whites in his decision making as President.

What a difference 4 years can make:

1996: Bob Dole is a war hero! Clinton is a draft dodger! WORSHIP THE WAR HERO!

2000: Forget the war! Ignore the potential Vietnam-era AWOL-ness of our candidate, and his complete lack of foreign policy knowledge! He's got integrity!

2004: So what your candidate actually fought and was injured in the same war during which our candidate was so very much NOT AWOL! We mock his service and question the legitimacy of his injuries! Have a purple band-aid to wear at our convention!

2008: Only a certified war hero can lead this country! WORSHIP THE WAR HERO!

I don't feel people need to cut up our National flag to show their patriotism. Besides, when mixed in with bullying type mentalities, it can be perceived as one of the 14 symptoms of the Road To Fascism

Racism doesn't have to be something which we admit to and believe we are influenced by. It more times than not is something which exists deep down but we would rather pretend it does not and come up with other reasons to back up our views.
