Why do you care so much about what gays and lesbians do in their personal lives? How does this issue impact you in any serious or meaningful way? Again, there are far more serious issues happening in this country - why is this so important? For instance, I imagine a real American like you supports this War -- wouldn't your heartfelt political passion be better directed in a more effective direction? Towards peace, understanding; how about basic human and civil rights? How about making sure a baby will have his Dad around growing up?

For many of us Americans, it a moral issue that the top 1 percent of the U.S. owns nearly 40 percent of the nation's wealth, enjoying lives of unimagined opulence while more than 37 million Americans live beneath the federal government's notoriously inadequate poverty level. A morally shocking 43 percent, equaling nearly 16 million of those officially poor Americans, live in what researchers call "deep poverty," at less than half federal poverty measure (roughly $10,000 a year for a family of four). "Deep poverty" has been on the rise in the U.S. over recent years and decades, encouraged by Bill Clinton and New Gingrich's vicious and immoral welfare "reform" (elimination. It is now at its highest rate since 1975 (Agence France-Presse 2007).



This is a grave moral issue in the industrialized world's most unequal and wealth-top-heavy society - the U.S.



It is a moral issue that wealthy Americans enjoy the finest health care in history while 45 million Americans have no health insurance.



It is a moral issue that American corporations and wealth enjoy numerous powerful state protections and subsidies while "U.S. social programs are minimal compared to those of Western Europe and Canada" (Agence France-Presse 2007).



It is a moral issue that working Americans' wages, salaries, and benefits have stagnated and declined, lagging far behind rising productivity, while corporate profits and other elite "earnings" have skyrocketed over recent years and decades (Agence France-Press, 2007).



It is a moral issue that Americans work the longest hours

Before the 14th Amendment and the Reconstruction Acts of 1867 1868, the "majority" of United States citizens believed African Americans did not have the same rights as the rest of of their brethren.

Before the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment,the "majority" did not think women should vote.

Has it taken this long before the "majority" acquiesces to the rights of the last few 2nd class United States citizens?

If you don't want these people to have the same inalienable rights as yourself, then I question what part of truth you lay claim to: 1/4? 1/8? 1/16?

Jay, put down your Communist manafesto for a minute... in your 1 percent of the wealth thing... I am more mad that the people who in a nation of opportunity continue to live in poverty and do nothing about it.

You have Foreigners come here and work hard and they own the markets in the Black community while the povery blacks shop at the liquor stores and remain the victim. You have people all over the world come hear and make millions.

I started with $4000 and now have 30 business with revenues of $2 billion started in 1991. If I can do it then all these POOR people who are oppressed can do it too.

I do laugh at LA where one can drive from Beverly Hills and the $400,000 car to the worst poverty in the nation in 20 minutes. Now that I have money, I do live well but I give a lot of money away to help people but I dont just give it away I teach the people I help to make more money and pull themselves up. I give scholarships and money to black colleges in the SOutheastern USA and make them repay me in community out reach and success.. that is it.

Most of the Paris Hiltons you guys cover dont do that... we Americans are ignorant and have no clue as to the poor out there. They would rather watch American idol instead of the news. Like in a recent book MOST Americans Are Stupid.. 1 in 7 cant find Iraq on the map, but 70 percent can name a SImpsons character.

People have challenged the Dali Bama on the abortions of all of those black babies. He doesn't answer, and nobody in the MSM pursues this with him. The MSM is "in the tank" for Obama....BIG TIME!!!!

Moral issues? PAAALEEEZZZZZZZZ. I think using your baby (if that IS your own child) in your photo is rather manipulative and border lines on a form of child abuse!
