Ok, so I'm obsessively playing songs over and over again on my ipod.  I need a change! Anyone have a great mix of songs that I can groove to while I'm driving to work?

Here's my top songs...

DJ Paul V - Gimme Even More, Britney! (all of the songs sampled are the best!  a bit of britney, kelly's shoes, Dead or Alive, Daft Punk, and the lovely Chris Crocker)

Beck - Timebomb (sounds best played really, really loud)

Feist - Inside and Out (chill song)

Rilo Kiley - Moneymaker (love Jenny Lewis)

Rihanna - Shut Up and Drive (makes me want to race)

T-Pain - Bartender (fun and makes me want to dance)

Cameo - Word Up (always a classic)

what's your fave playlist?

You call that music?! Sheesh! That's nothing but bubble gum music designed to empty your wallet.

I think you need to go back a few years and download songs from The Doors, The Association, The Monkey's - anything from that mid to late 60s era where both words and music were thoughtfully composed and have meaning that have lasted for all these years.

Does anyone ever play any music from Cyndi Lauper anymore? The same will hold true for Spears, Aguilla, etc. They are selling a 'see my cleavage' package with some vocals and words thrown in to boot.

Suzanne - time for you to go back into the future and taste what music REALLY is!

Suzanne,

Great blog...you go girl! And yes, it's me again, the "devil's second worst nightmare"...but that was another blog ago (HAR HAR!)

I used to DJ back in the 80s during my college years...I must have several thousand songs on my computer alone from my vinyl collection. Don't worry about one of the negative comments you received from one of the guys about your taste in music...it's your choice, so enjoy it all!

These are some of the artists I used to play from the early to mid 1980s:

Air Supply, Lindsey Buckingham (from Fleetwood Mac), Toto, Rick Springfield, Earth Wind And Fire, Chicago, J. Geils Band, Sheena Easton, Olivia Newton John, Elton John, Quarterflash, Joe Jackson, Eddy Grant, Human League, Juice Newton, Little River Band, Electric Light Orchestra, Kim Wilde, Toni Basil, Cyndi Lauper, Men At Work, Men Without Hats, Endgames, Madness, Tracy Ullman, Thomas Dolby, Carl Carlton, High Inergy, Big Country, Tears For Fears, Genesis, Phil Collins, Stevie Nicks (of Fleetwood Mac), Christine McVie (of Fleetwood Mac), Fleetwood Mac, Toto, Duran Duran, Rick Astley, Martika, Eighth Wonder, New Edition, Bobby Brown (of New Edition), Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Bananarama, Go Go's, Pat Benatar, Kylie Minogue, Paula Abdul, Debbie Gibson, Pet Shop Boys, Baltimora, Ali Thomson, Fine Young Cannibals, Berlin, Amy Grant, U2, The Alarm, OMD, Simple Minds, Pretenders, Cameo, E.G. Daily, Regina, Nancy Martinez, Nice And Wild...and the list can go on for who knows how long!

I think you have great taste Suzanne! Feel free to show this to others on staff, including

Now here is my Halloween favorite playlist:

Enjoy!

HowardM you and I like that 60's stuff, they were great tunes in their day. Unfortunately today's and youngsters such as Suzanne are not aware of those great tunes. The songs of yesteryear, my friend, die out mainly with the aging population that appreciates them.

First.. let's address halloween.. i was a police officer! more specifically the fashion police and i wrote tickets to the anchors. i did it on sunday night!

here's the story:

Ok, Let the music wars begin. I love old music.. but I am so over classic rock. I was into it once upon a time... The Doors, Led Zeppelin.. yeah yeah.

Wait, except for the Rolling Stones, Beatles, Steppenwolf's Magic Carpet Ride, George Baker's Little Green Bag, and a few select others that may be from that time.

I recently got into Lou Reid and the Velvet Underground... I'll Be Your Mirror & Femme Fatale.. wonderful!

I love classic lounge music - Esquivel, Mel Torme, Dean Martin, Sergie Mendes.. way older and better. Ok, I'll stop ripping on classic rock now.

Of today's music... I love Massive Attack, Au Revoir Simone, Daft Punk, Buena Vista Social Club, Pink Martini... I just discovered Chromeo & New Young Pony Club. Someone tell me about new bands!

I love the 80's too.. J. Geils Band, Human League, Madness, Martika, Bobby Brown! Pet Shop Boys.. great list there... great music from growing up.

i agree, i think the doors, led zep are all burned out, i enjoy lou reid, and the velvet underground is pretty good. it's nice to know your not really all into trendy crappy music. daft punks is great. 80's rock, as well, but the real question is, who was on the top ten most wanted on your fashion list no-no's????

Gladys Knight and Pips baby... oh and...

Red Hot Chili Peppers for spice...

Hey a girl's gotta be versatale to keep her jam on... LoL

Hey Suzanne, glad you survived Halloween...

yeah, i didn't make it to any haunts.. well unless you count hollywood forever cemetery. partying with the dead on dia de los muertos. i didn't see any ghosts though.

ok, so fashion no-no's on halloween? seriously, the only no-no is not dressing up at all and going to a costume party... what a drag! or doing it halfway. you have to do it all the way, or not at all!

all-time no-nos? imho...
tevas.
muffin tops. (when your waist sits over your pants or skirt like a muffin)
lack of deodorant or too much perfume.

i hesitate to say anything related to clothing.. because so many things go in and out of style! remember when leggings were a no-no? now i wear them all the time!

Suzanne_Marques read my blog view my photos
Nov 8, 2007 | 12:32 PM

oh yeah, and as for tevas... i have a thing about feet. they look terrible in them. wear flip flops instead... or a sandal.

samo714 read my blog view my photos
Nov 8, 2007 | 2:37 PM

what is a tevas???
how would a person fix the muffin look? if they buy a bigger pair of pants they sag or fall off and if they wear what they are wearing currently, then they give that appearance. tough one figure out.

what do you think is in with men style? what do you like men to wear?

so have you checked out any of the misfits tunes?
