Dog the Bounty Hunter held court at the Border's in Hollywood last night. He's written a book and signed hundreds of them for some rather rabid fans.

My assignment for the night.. interview the Dog and roll it into a story about the Mexican government dropping the charges against him regarding the capture of Andrew Luster in Puerto Vallarta in 2003.

But the Dog's handlers were in no mood to handle Fox 11's request for interview time. Lots of books to sell and lots of fans to run through the line.

That's when I got the tip of the night.. don't deal with the suits, ask Beth, his wife. She, with all her blond pulchritude, has the power to move things... especially "Big Daddy" .. as she calls him. And, so, I asked her for some help, the walls came down. He continued to sign the books and answered a few questions. Honestly, not the best interview I've ever gotten.  But it was better than nothing.

Gary, my cameraman and I had rushed out of the book store to interview the fans in line and then started the mad dash to write and edit the story for Fox 11 10 o'clock news.

Then, I remembered, my momma raised me better than that. I went back into the store to thank Beth for running interference.  She couldn't have been nicer and started her campaign to turn me into a Dog fan.  To be sure, I'm convinced of Dog's appeal.. but it's she I really appreciate. He's got the mission, she's got the energy.  Her devotion to him is sincere and refreshing.

Beth Smith Chapman, consider me a fan.

I'm a fan too. I like Dogs honesty. And Beth is like Susan Hirasuna...fearless!

I'm the manager of an indie band called "Displaced People." They will be Playing September 1, 2007 (opening day) at 8 p.m. at the Antelope Valley Fair in Lancaster, Ca.

And September 4, 2007 (8:30 P.M.)at the "Whiskey" in West Hollywood...please remember "Displaced People."

Their last gig was August 21, 2007 at the "Pig & Whistle" on Hollywood blvd., which was a huge success...passed out a lot of C.D.'s... the fans love "Displaced People."

You can see them at Myspace.com (Displaced People) from South Africa...They are awesome!

I have reserved a V.I.P interview for Susan Hirasuna to interview the band...any time!

This must be the place to post ads, as I see beepbeep shamelessly promoting his band. I am having a yard sale next weekend, starting at 6:00 am on Saturday. Lots of great bargains and free coffee and doughnuts. Anyway, Dog is a great dude and in my opinion, an American Hero.

Donuts...? I'll be there.

I'm not very good at promoting the band. Our last gig was 'July' 21, 2007 at the "Pig & Whistle." Not August! I have an excuse for that kind of thinking...It's called short term memory loss.

I was a sheriff for 20 yrs. so the "Pig & Whistle is an appropriate location.

Voodoodog..."Displaced People" were in the recording studio yesterday from 11 a.m. till about 1 a.m.

We will be coming out with another C.D. in about four weeks. I have a list of persons at Fox News who will be receiving a copy.

Steve Edwards...c/o Fox News 1999 South Bundy Dr. L.A. Ca. 90025

Dave Dain, Dorothy Lucey, Jillian Reynolds, Lisa Breckenridge, Jean Martierez, and Tony McEwing.

And for my blogging buddies...If you would like to receive a free copy...leave your name and a mail address.

Ads? My gym is opening in about 2 weeks...

Meanwhile, I will continue to admire you for having used the word "pulchritude" in a blog.
